The dynamical properties of liquid water play an important role in many processes in nature. In this paper, we focus on the infrared (IR) absorption spectrum of liquid water based on the linearized semiclassical initial value representation (LSC-IVR) with the local Gaussian approximation (LGA) [J. Liu and W. H. Miller, J. Chem. Phys. 131, 074113 (2009)] and an ab initio based, flexible, polarizable Thole-type model (TTM3-F) [G. S. Fanourgakis and S. S. Xantheas, J. Chem. Phys. 128, 074506 (2008)]. Although the LSC-IVR (LGA) gives the exact result for the isolated three-dimensional shifted harmonic stretching model, it yields a blueshifted peak position for the more realistic anharmonic stretching potential. By using the short-time information of the LSC-IVR correlation function; however, it is shown how one can obtain more accurate results for the position of the stretching peak. Due to the physical decay in the condensed phase system, the LSC-IVR (LGA) is a good and practical approximate quantum approach for the IR spectrum of liquid water. The present results offer valuable insight into future attempts to improve the accuracy of the TTM3-F potential or other ab initio-based models in reproducing the IR spectrum of liquid water.  相似文献

The combined use of a dual‐UV detector, a fluorimetric one and of a multiple electrochemical (EC) detector equipped with a dual electrode, consisting of a conventional size 3 mm diameter glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and of a pair of 30 μm thick carbon microfibers, is proposed for the determination of 15 amino acids, two dipeptides and creatinine. This online coupling of the above detection modes could partially replace amino acid analysis by derivatization methods, since it solves problems concerning the direct detection of selected underivatized amino acids. Additionally, it was proved that the use of multiple‐detection allows positive peak identification in a single chromatographic run, yields more information for free amino acids and solves in some cases the problem of chromatographic resolution. In order to optimize the detection conditions of the underivatized amino acids and related compounds by different detectors, their detection characteristics were determined by adequate preliminary experiments. The electro‐oxidation characteristics of the underivatized compounds of interest were determined by hydrodynamic voltammetry using a flow cell with a macrodisc GCE and by ex‐situ voltammetry using both a GCE of conventional size and a carbon fiber disk microelectrode. Important practical advantages of microfiber and microdisk electrodes with respect to macroelectrodes were demonstrated.  相似文献

Criteria for aerosol synthesis of soft-agglomerate, hard-agglomerate, or even nonagglomerate particles are developed on the basis of particle sintering and coalescence. Agglomerate (or aggregate) particles are held together by weak, physical van der Waals forces (soft agglomerates) or by stronger chemical or sintering bonds (hard agglomerates). Accounting for simultaneous gas phase chemical reaction, coagulation, and sintering during the formation and growth of silica (SiO2) nanoparticles by silicon tetrachloride (SiCl4) oxidation and neglecting the spread of particle size distribution, the onset of hard-agglomerate formation is identified at the end of full coalescence, while the onset of soft-agglomerate formation is identified at the end of sintering. Process conditions such as the precursor initial volume fraction, maximum temperature, residence time, and cooling rate are explored, identifying regions for the synthesis of particles with a controlled degree of agglomeration (ratio of collision to primary particle diameters).  相似文献

A log-normal model, based on the extended SIMPLER-algorithm utilizing the Modal Aerosol Dynamics Modelling Technique, and a sectional model are compared for Brownian coagulation in the transition regime. The models are in good agreement with respect to the calculated particle size distribution moments. Applying the log-normal model a simple coagulation model consisting of a closed set of five equations is developed that does not require the solution of ordinary diferential equations.  相似文献

Oxolinic acid (OXA) is a first-generation quinolone antibacterial agent, known to cause drug induced photosensitivity. In the present work its photoinduced degradation was monitored under simulated solar irradiation. The effect of photoprotecting agents on OXA stability was also assessed by drug complexation with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD). The complex was studied by UV-Vis and 1H (2D) NMR Spectroscopy. A photostability indicating chromatographic method was developed and validated. Because OXA is insoluble in acidic solutions, and because an acidic solvent is necessary for successful chromatographic separation, a procedure was developed to pre-treat the sample. This method is suitable for the separation of degradation products from OXA and from each other. The method was also evaluated in the presence of HPβCD, in order to ensure that inclusion complexation did not generate inaccuracies. Investigation of OXA photodegradation profiles confirms first order kinetics and acceleration at higher initial sample concentrations. A 94% photostabilization upon complexation with HPβCD was achieved. Furthermore, molecular self association phenomena were determined by self titration experiments, using 1H NMR Spectroscopy and suggestions were made for the photostabilization mechanism of cyclodextrins.  相似文献
