M1 and E1 transition rates from the ground to excited states and between excited states in 238U are calculated within the quasiparticle-phonon nuclear model with the wave functions consisting of one- and two-phonon terms. We show that there are relatively large M1 transitions between 2+ states in the low-energy region. The fragmentation of the one-phonon states strongly affects M1 and E1 strength distributions. The correlation takes place between E1 and E3 transition strengths. We show that there are fast E1 and M1 transitions between large components of the wave functions differing by an octupole or quadrupole phonon.  相似文献

Celebrating the centenary of general relativity theory, we must recall that Friedmann’s discovery of the equations of evolution of the Universe became the strongest prediction of this theory. These equations currently remain the foundation of modern cosmology. Nevertheless, data from new observations stimulate a search for modified theories of gravitation. We discuss cosmological aspects of theories with two dynamical metrics and theories of massive gravity, one of which was developed by Logunov and his coworkers.  相似文献

Ternary fission induced by cold polarized neutrons was studied for the two isotopes 233U and 235U at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble, France. In particular two types of angular correlations between the spin of the incoming neutrons and the emission directions of both, the fission fragments (FF) and the ternary particles (TP), were investigated. For FF and TP detectors facing the target at right angles to the neutron beam, first, for longitudinally polarized neutrons a triple correlation between spin and the emission of outgoing particles was explored and, second, for transversally polarized neutrons parity violating asymmetries in the emission of FFs and TPs were analyzed. Nonzero expectation values for the triple correlation were oberserved in the present experiments for the first time.  相似文献

We analyze functional analytic aspects of axiomatic formulations of nonlocal and noncommutative quantum field theories. In particular, we completely clarify the relation between the asymptotic commutativity condition, which ensures the CPT symmetry and the standard spin-statistics relation for nonlocal fields, and the regularity properties of the retarded Green’s functions in momentum space that are required for constructing a scattering theory and deriving reduction formulas. This result is based on a relevant Paley-Wiener-Schwartz-type theorem for analytic functionals. We also discuss the possibility of using analytic test functions to extend the Wightman axioms to noncommutative field theory, where the causal structure with the light cone is replaced with that with the light wedge. In this paper, we develop further the analytical and numerical method of solving three-dimensional problems in the theory of radio wave propagation, including three-dimensional local inhomogeneities (ionospheric disturbances or Earth’s surface irregularities). To model the Earth-ionosphere waveguide, we use the surface impedance concept, by which the irregularity extending beyond one waveguide wall has an arbitrary smooth shape, and its surface can be described by the impedance. In the scalar approximation, this problem is reduced to a two-dimensional integral equation for the irregularity surface, which, by asymptotic (kr ≫ 1) integration over the coordinate transverse to the propagation path (with allowance for terms of the order of (kr)−1), is reduced to a one-dimensional integral equation, in which the integration contour is the linear contour of the irregularity. The equation is solved numerically, combining the inversion of a Volterra integral operator and successive approximations. By reducing the computer times, this method enables one to study both small-scale and large-scale irregularities. The results of numerical simulation of radio wave propagation in the presence of a powerful three-dimensional ionospheric disturbance are presented as an example. The level density at the neutron binding energy for 90 spherical nuclei in the interval 50 < A < 205 is calculated by a method of direct counting of the number of states taking into account collective vibrational excitations. The results of calculations are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data. The difference in the level density of doubly even and odd-A nuclei is correctly described. The effect of nuclear vibrations on the level density is studied, and it is shown that the account of them leads to an increase in the density by a factor of 1.5–10 and to a decrease in the density fluctuations. It is also studied how the level density depends on excitation energy. With increasing excitation energy, our results come nearer the corresponding values obtained by the statistical model. It is found that the density fluctuations decrease with increasing excitation energy but remain still strong at the neutron binding energy for nuclei with A = 50–70 and for nuclei around closed shells. The density ρ(Iπ) is studied as a function of spin and parity. It is shown that at the neutron binding energy the ratio ρ(I+)ρ(I?) is different from unity for the majority of nuclei. This difference is especially striking for 57Fe and 58Fe nuclei.  相似文献

The strength functions b(E3, ω) are calculated, and the positions and widths of giant octupole resonances in deformed nuclei are found. It is shown that the giant octupole isoscalar resonances have energies (19–20) MeV for the rare-earth nuclei and (17–18) MeV for the actinides and the widths (5–7) MeV. The energies of the giant octupole isovector resonances are defined by the value of the isovector constant κ(3)1.  相似文献
