Fluorescent hyperbranched copolymers (HB‐x, x = 1–4) with inherent tetraphenylthiophene, triphenylamine (TPA) and quinoline (Qu) moieties were prepared to study the influence of the TPA branching point on the thermal and the spectral stability. All the HB‐x copolymers exhibited high glass transition temperatures (Tgs = 245–315 °C) with the detected values increasing with the increasing branching TPA content in the HB‐x. The solid HB‐x films possess high emission efficiency with the resulting quantum yields (?Fs) in the ranges of 0.72–0.74. More importantly, the HB‐x copolymers and the derived light‐emitting devices exhibit high photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence (EL) stability towards thermal annealing at temperatures higher than 200 °C. After annealing at 200 °C (or 300 °C), no change was observed in the respective PL and EL spectra of HB‐1 (or HB‐4) copolymers. The spectral stability was found to correlate with Tg and with the highest branching density, HB‐4 copolymer possesses the highest thermal stability among all HB‐xs and show no EL spectral change after annealing at 300 °C for 4 h. The results indicate that all the branched HB‐x copolymers are promising candidates for the polymer light‐emitting diodes due to their high quantum yield and spectral stability. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The difference in electrostatics and reduction potentials between manganese ortho-tetrakis(N-ethylpyridinium-2-yl)porphyrin (MnTE-2-PyP) and manganese meta-tetrakis(N-ethylpyridinium-3-yl)porphyrin (MnTE-3-PyP) is a challenging topic, particularly because of the high likelihood for their clinical development. Hence, a detailed study of the protolytic and electrochemical speciation of Mn(II-IV)TE-2-PyP and Mn(II-IV)TE-3-PyP in a broad pH range has been performed using the combined spectrophotometric and potentiometric methods. The results reveal that in aqueous solutions within the pH range ~2-13 the following species exist: (H(2)O)Mn(II)TE-m-PyP(4+), (HO)Mn(II)TE-m-PyP(3+), (H(2)O)(2)Mn(III)TE-m-PyP(5+), (HO)(H(2)O)Mn(III)TE-m-PyP(4+), (O)(H(2)O)Mn(III)TE-m-PyP(3+), (O)(H(2)O)Mn(IV)TE-m-PyP(4+) and (O)(HO)Mn(IV)TE-m-PyP(3+) (m = 2, 3). All the protolytic equilibrium constants that include the accessible species as well as the thermodynamic parameters for each particular protolytic equilibrium have been determined. The corresponding formal reduction potentials related to the reduction of the above species and the thermodynamic parameters describing the accessible reduction couples were calculated as well.  相似文献

This paper studied application of different types of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) into flexible supercapacitors. Typical RTILs including 1-buthyl-3-methyl-imidazolium [BMIM][Cl], trioctylmethylammonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [OMA][TFSI] and triethylsulfonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([SET3][TFSI]) were studied. [SET3][TFSI] shows the best result as electrolyte in electrochemical double-layer (EDLC) supercapacitors with very high specific capacitance of 244 F/g at room temperature, overceiling the performance of conventional carbonate electrolyte such as dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with more stable performance and much larger electrochemical window.  相似文献

Summary: The separation of H2/CO2 is technologically important to produce the next generation fuel source, hydrogen, from synthesis gas. However, the separation efficiency achieved by polymeric membranes is usually very low because of both unfavourable diffusivity selectivity and solubility selectivity between H2 and CO2. A series of novel diamino‐modified polyimides has been discovered to enhance the separation capability of polyimide membranes especially for H2 and CO2 separation. Both pure gas and mixed gas tests have been conducted. The ideal H2/CO2 selectivity in pure gas tests is 101, which is far superior to other polymeric membranes and is well above the Robeson's upper‐bound curve. Mixed gas tests show an ideal selectivity of 42 for the propane‐1,3‐diamine‐modified polyimide. The lower selectivity is a result of the sorption competition between H2 and the highly condensable CO2 molecules. However, both pure gas and mixed gas data are better than other polymeric membranes and above the Robeson's upper‐bound curve. It is evident that the proposed modification methods can alter the physicochemical structure of polyimide membranes with superior separation performance for H2 and CO2 separation.

An affinity‐selection study using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) combined with off‐line electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) was performed on libraries of peptidic α‐ketoamide inhibitors directed against the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3 protease. A limiting amount of HCV NS3 protease (25 µM ) was incubated with equimolar amounts (100 µM ) of 49 reversible mechanism‐based ketoamide inhibitors, previously grouped into seven sets to ensure clearly distinguishable mass differences of the enzyme‐inhibitor complexes (>10 Da). The unbound compounds were separated rapidly from the protease and the protease‐inhibitor complexes by SEC spin columns. The eluate of the SEC was immediately analyzed by direct‐infusion ESI‐MS. An enzyme‐inhibitor complex, with a molecular mass corresponding to the NS3 protease binding to the preferred inhibitor, SCH212986, was the only molecular species detected. By increasing the molar ratio of HCV NS3 protease to inhibitors to 1:2 while keeping the inhibitors' concentration constant, the complex of the second most tightly bound inhibitor, SCH215426, was also identified. Although the potencies of these inhibitors were virtually un‐measurable by kinetic assays, a rank order of CVS4441 > SCH212986 > SCH215426 was deduced for their inhibition potencies by direct competition experiment with CVS4441 ( M ). As discussed in the article, through judicious application of this strategy, even large libraries of fairly weak, reversible and slow‐binding inhibitors could be rapidly screened and rank ordered to provide critical initial structure‐activity insights. Recently, ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA) is experiencing a renascence for the modification of proteins and peptides through OPA-amine two-component reactions for bioconjugation and intramolecular OPA-amine-thiol three-component reactions for cyclization. Historically, small thiol molecules were used in large excess to allow for the intermolecular OPA-amine-thiol reaction forming 1-thio-isoindole derivatives. In this study, we discovered that guanidine could serve as an effective additive to switch the intermolecular OPA-amine-thiol three-component reaction to a stoichiometric process and enable the modular construction of peptide-peptide, and peptide-drug conjugate structures. Thus, 12 model peptide-peptide conjugates have been synthesized from unprotected peptides featuring all proteinogenic residues. Besides, 6 peptide-drug conjugates have been prepared in one step, with excellent conversions and isolated yields. In addition, a conjugate product has been further functionalized by utilizing a premodified OPA derivative, demonstrating the versatility and flexibility of this reaction.  相似文献
