Die Stabilität der Kobalt(II)- und Kupfer(II)-Komplexe mit α-, β- und γ-Aminobutyrat

Stability constants of cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes with α-, β-, and γ-aminobutyrate as well as the protonation constants of these ligands have been determined by potentiometric titration. ΔG ^? values, computed from the stability constants, increase in the orderAABA. The increase in ΔG ^? AABA→BABA amounts approx. 15 per cent. The same difference was observed for α- and β-alaninato complexes with various transition metal ions.     

The asymptotics of nonexpansive iterations

Let D be a closed subset of a Banach space X and T: D → D a nonexpansive mapping. Conditions are given (on the space X) for T to satisfy the following property of ergodic type: $\text{{T}{}^{\mathrm{n}}\text{x}\text{n}\text{}}$ converges (either weakly or strongly) to a vector v. Rather unexpectedly, D is not assumed to be convex, nor is I – T assumed to satisfy any range condition. In addition, it is shown that ?v is the unique point of least norm in the closure of R(I – T) if and only if I – T satisfies a certain range condition at infinity. Several interesting applications to accretive operator and nonlinear semigroup theory are also included.     

Asymptotic behavior of solutions to nonlinear Volterra integral equations

A class of operator Riccati integral equations is associated with a factorization problem in a certain Banach algebra. Recent results concerning factorization in this algebra are used to obtain existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence results for the Riccati equations.     

A limit theorem for projections

The main purpose of this paper is to establish a limit theorem for convex combinations of linear projections. We also include nonlinear extensions as well as several applications.     

ParaHermitian and paraquaternionic manifolds

A set of canonical paraHermitian connections on an almost paraHermitian manifold is defined. ParaHermitian version of the Apostolov-Gauduchon generalization of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem in General Relativity is given. It is proved that the Nijenhuis tensor of a Nearly paraKähler manifolds is parallel with respect to the canonical connection. Salamon's twistor construction on quaternionic manifold is adapted to the paraquaternionic case. A hyper-paracomplex structure is constructed on Kodaira-Thurston (properly elliptic) surfaces as well as on the Inoe surfaces modeled on . A locally conformally flat hyper-paraKähler (hypersymplectic) structure with parallel Lee form on Kodaira-Thurston surfaces is obtained. Anti-self-dual non-Weyl flat neutral metric on Inoe surfaces modeled on is presented. An example of anti-self-dual neutral metric which is not locally conformally hyper-paraKähler is constructed.     

An approximation theory for the identification of nonlinear volterra equations

An abstract approximation framework and convergence theory for Galerkin approximations to inverse problems involving nonlinear Volterra integral equations is developed. The approach relies on the theory of m-accretive operators in Banach spaces. An application to heat flow in materials with memory is also discussed.
