We prove that a substitutive dynamical system of Pisot type contains a factor which is isomorphic to a minimal rotation on a torus. If the substitution is unimodular and satisfies a certain combinatorial condition, we prove that the dynamical system is measurably conjugate to an exchange of domains in a self-similar compact subset of the Euclidean space.

We advocate the use of qualitative models for the analysis of shift equilibria in large biological systems. We present a mathematical method, allowing qualitative predictions to be made of the behaviour of a biological system. These predictions are not dependent on specific values of the kinetic constants. Diffusion experiments with gallium, indium, aluminium, tin, chromium, gold, lead and tellurium in the ternary semiconductor ZnSiP2 were carried out. With elements of the third group of the periodic law it was obtained an unambiguous doping effect demonstrated by temperature dependence of the Hall coefficient and by investigations with the electron microprobe. Diffusion of gallium, aluminium and indium caused the formation of shallow donors in ZnSiP2 with activation energies (at vanished impurity concentration) of 30 meV, 65 meV, 70 meV, respectively. From semi-insulating p-ZnSiP2 often prepared by crystal growth low resistivity n-ZnSiP2 was made by diffusion with gallium and indium.  相似文献

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in urine are potential biomarkers of breast cancer. Previously, our group has investigated breast cancer through analysis of VOCs in mouse urine and identified a panel of VOCs with the ability to monitor tumor progression. However, an unanswered question is whether VOCs can be exploited similarly to monitor the efficacy of antitumor treatments over time. Herein, subsets of tumor-bearing mice were treated with pitavastatin at high (8 mg/kg) and low (4 mg/kg) concentrations, and urine was analyzed through solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Previous investigations using X-ray and micro-CT analysis indicated pitavastatin administered at 8 mg/kg had a protective effect against mammary tumors, whereas 4 mg/kg treatments did not inhibit tumor-induced damage. VOCs from mice treated with pitavastatin were compared to the previously analyzed healthy controls and tumor-bearing mice using chemometric analyses, which revealed that mice treated with pitavastatin at high concentrations were significantly different than tumor-bearing untreated mice in the direction of healthy controls. Mice treated with low concentrations demonstrated significant differences relative to healthy controls and were reflective of tumor-bearing untreated mice. These results show that urinary VOCs can accurately and noninvasively predict the efficacy of pitavastatin treatments over time.  相似文献

A set of ten digitized statistically similar Gaussian maskers was used in one-internal tone-in-noise detection experiments under diotic (NoSo) and dichotic (NoS pi) interaural conditions. Stimulus/response matrices were generated for each masker in the presence or absence of a target 500-Hz tone. For both NoSo and NoS pi, nonparametric analyses show that response probabilities and sensitivities vary significantly across noise waveforms, indicating a considerable external noise component in subject response variability. A parametric model is developed that maps individual stimulus waveforms onto a decision axis, facilitating evaluation of internal/external noise variance ratios. For both NoSo and NoS pi, internal and external noise variance are of similar magnitude.  相似文献

Single-shot laser damage of Ni and Cr films on fused silica substrates has been studied as a function of film thickness, utilizing 248 nm/14 ns pulses and detection by probe beam deflection. Threshold fluences for visible damage and vaporization are compared to predictions of the heat diffusion model. The model fits thresholds for visible damage well and identifies their origin, which is melting for Ni films and brittle-to-ductile phase transition for Cr films. When predicting thresholds for vaporization, the diffusion model is of limited success in case of Ni films but fails completely for Cr films, indicating that transient thermal properties of the material should be taken into account. Microscopic inspection shows that Cr films rupture at low fluences before entering the common sequence of melting and vaporizing with increasing fluence. 17 December 1996/Accepted: 17 December 1996  相似文献
