A particular analytical solution to the nonintegrable problem of plane electromagnetic wave propagation through an isotropic gyrotropic nonlinear medium is found in the form of elliptically polarized breather. The intensity ratio for the circularly polarized components of this wave, which remains constant during propagation, can be used to determine the ratio of local and nonlocal nonlinear susceptibilities describing the Kerr nonlinearity and its spatial dispersion.  相似文献

Effective elastic moduli for 3D solid–solid phononic crystals of arbitrary anisotropy and oblique lattice structure are formulated analytically using the plane-wave expansion (PWE) method and the recently proposed monodromy-matrix (MM) method. The latter approach employs Fourier series in two dimensions with direct numerical integration along the third direction. As a result, the MM method converges much quicker to the exact moduli in comparison with the PWE as the number of Fourier coefficients increases. The MM method yields a more explicit formula than previous results, enabling a closed-form upper bound on the effective Christoffel tensor. The MM approach significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of evaluating effective wave speeds for high-contrast composites and for configurations of closely spaced inclusions, as demonstrated by three-dimensional examples.  相似文献

A thin-walled cylinder of unrestricted anisotropy is considered. Low-frequency cutoffs corresponding to bending and extension-shear motions of the cylinder mid-surface are investigated. Eulerian, three-dimensional, numerical code, which conserves mass, momentum and energy simultaneously both in the Lagrangian and remap steps, is developed. The use of special form of linear viscosity provides a weaker time step restriction as compared with the Courant condition. The code is designed to investigate the multi-material problems, including dusty flows. The crystal structure of H3BO3‐3T, a new trigonal polytype of orthoboric acid, consists of sheets of hydrogen‐bonded B(OH)3 mol­ecules similar to those found in the triclinic structure of orthoboric acid, H3BO3‐2A. In each case, van der Waals forces connect the sheets. However, the stacking sequences of the sheets differ between the two polymorphs.
