Electronic control of spin alignment in pi-conjugated molecular magnets

Intramolecular spin alignment in pi-conjugated molecules is studied theoretically in a model of a Peierls-Hubbard chain coupled with two localized spins. By means of the exact diagonalization technique, we demonstrate that a spin singlet (S=0) to quartet (S=3/2) transition can be induced by electronic doping, depending on the chain length, the positions of the localized spins, and the sign of the electron-spin coupling. The calculated results provide a theoretical basis for understanding the mechanism of spin alignment recently observed in a diradical donor molecule.     

The origin of enhanced photocatalytic decomposition of ATP on TiO2 powders as induced by surface modification with lanthanide ions: important roles of ATP adsorption to the modified surface

Surface modification of TiO₂ powders with lanthanide salts (EuCl₃ or YbCl₃) enhanced photocatalytic decomposition of ATP. In comparison with the unmodified catalyst, a 3-fold increase in the ATP decay rate was observed with TiO₂ powders as prepared in 5 mM EuCl₃ (or YbCl₃) solution. The reason was ascribed to enrichment of ATP to TiO₂ powder with the lanthanide ions. Evidence was obtained by adsorption experiments where ATP concentration was monitored after dispersing TiO₂ powders into the solution. The ATP molecules adsorbed faster to TiO₂ powder and strongly stabilized there in the presence of Yb³⁺ than otherwise.     

Non-C2-symmetrical antimony-phosphorus ligand, (R/S)-2-diphenylphosphano-2′-di(p-tolyl)stibano-1,1′-binaphthyl (BINAPSb): preparation and its use for asymmetric reactions as a chiral auxiliary

A new non-C₂-symmetrical antimony-phosphorous ligand, (±)-2-diphenyl-phosphano-2′-di(p-tolyl)stibano-1,1′-binaphthyl (BINAPSb) 3, has been prepared from 2-bromo-2′-diphenylphosphano-1,1′-naphthyl 4 via its borane complex 6, and could be resolved by the separation of a mixture of the diastereomeric palladium complexes 8A and 8B derived from the reaction of (±)-3 with optically active palladium reagent (S)-7. The enantiomerically pure BINAPSb 3 has proved to be highly effective in the palladium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrosilylation of styrene as a chiral auxiliary.     

镍 钴 钯 铁2—（二苯基膦基）吡啶配合物的合成及其催化羰基化反应

众所周知,铑催化剂是醇类羰基化的有效催化剂,但是铑价格昂贵且对设备有腐蚀性,因此,寻找出对醇类羰基化催化活性好的非贵金属催化剂,对醇类羰化的工业化有十分重要的意义。 本文在温和条件下,合成了四种含有相同配体(Ph_2PPy)不同金属的有机配合物(金属基分别为Ni、Co、Pd、Fe),并探索了它们对乙醇羰基化反应的催化活性。     

埋层界面和空气表面和频光谱信号贡献的调控

本文研究表明通过膜厚控制和表面等离激元增强方法可有效区分隐藏界面和空气表面的和频振动光谱信号. 以氟化钙基底支撑的PMMA薄膜为模型,观察到隐藏界面和空气表面对和频信号贡献的变化. 通过监控羰基和甲基伸缩振动基团,发现薄PMMA膜的和频信号来自PMMA/空气表面的化学基团-CH₂、-CH₃、-OCH₃和C=O,而厚PMMA膜的和频信号则来自基底/PMMA埋层界面的-OCH₃和C=O基团. 随制膜浓度增大,埋层界面C=O基团的取向角从65°下降到43°,且浓度大于或等于0.5 wt%时,取向角等于45°±2°. 相比之下,空气表面C=O的取向角落在21°∽38°之间. 在金纳米棒存在条件下,表面等离激元可以极大地增强和频信号,尤其是来自埋层界面信号.     

Zusatzeffekt von Tensiden auf die Inkompatibilität zwischen Polymersäuren und nichtionischen Polymeren

Zusammenfassung Das Vorkommen der Ausfällung zwischen Polykarbonsäuren und nichtionischen Polymeren im Wasser wurde durch Zufügung der Tenside (anionisch, kationisch und nichtionisch) beeinflußt. Die Grenzkonzentrationen der Tenside für Auflösung wasserunlöslicher Komplexe von Polymersäuren (Polyakryl- und Polymethakrylsäure) und Polyvinylpyrrolidon (PVP) wurden bestimmt und in Bezug auf die Wechselwirkungen zwischen je zwei Komponenten im ternären System, d. i., Tensid-Polymersäure, Tensid-PVP, und Polymersäure-PVP, erläutert.

The precipitation formation between polycarboxylic acids and nonionic polymers in water was suppressed by addition of surfactants (anionic, cationic and nonionic). The critical surfactant concentrations needed for dissolving the precipitates were determined about the water-insoluble complexes of polymeric: acids (polyacrylic and polymethacrylic acids) with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). The results were discussed with regard to each two component interaction in the ternary system, i. e., surfactant-polymeric acid, surfactant-PVP, and polymeric acid-PVP.

     

Lipase‐Catalyzed Dynamic Kinetic Resolution of C1‐ and C2‐Symmetric Racemic Axially Chiral 2,2′‐Dihydroxy‐1,1′‐biaryls

We have discovered that the racemization of configurationally stable, axially chiral 2,2′‐dihydroxy‐1,1′‐biaryls proceeds with a catalytic amount of a cyclopentadienylruthenium(II) complex at 35–50 °C. Combining this racemization procedure with lipase‐catalyzed kinetic resolution led to the first lipase/metal‐integrated dynamic kinetic resolution of racemic axially chiral biaryl compounds. The method was applied to the synthesis of various enantio‐enriched C₁‐ and C₂‐symmetric biaryl diols in yields of up to 98 % and enantiomeric excesses of up to 98 %, which paves the way for new developments in the field of asymmetric synthesis.
