On the width of an orientation of a tree

There are 2 ^n-1 ways in which a tree on n vertices can be oriented. Each of these can be regarded as the (Hasse) diagram of a partially ordered set. The maximal and minimal widths of these posets are determined. The maximal width depends on the bipartition of the tree as a bipartite graph and it can be determined in time O(n). The minimal width is one of [/2] or [/2]+1, where is the number of leaves of the tree. An algorithm of execution time O(n + ² log ) to construct the minimal width orientation is given.This research was partially funded by the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada under Grant Number A4219.     

Chiral Salen Manganese Complex Immobilized on SBA-15： A New Heterogenized Enantioselective Catalyst for the Epoxidation of Alkenes

Jacobsen‘s catalyst was immobilized onto SBA-15 by multi-step grafting, and this heterogenized catalyst exhibited comparable catalytic performance with the corresponding homogeneous counterpart for the epoxidation of alkenes, and the catalyst could be recycled effectively several times.     

微量元素与精神病的研究

一些基础医学实验研究和临床观察的资料表明，精神疾病患者体内的微量元素存在着显著的异常，已引起了国内外学者广泛关注，本文根据近年来的国内外文献报道，概述了微量元素锌（Ｚｎ），铜（Ｃｕ），铁（Ｆｅ）和常量元素钙（Ｃａ），镁（Ｍｇ）的生理作用及与精神病关系的研究进展。     

超声波作用下5, 5-二取代乙内酰脲的合成

本文以氰化钠水溶液、碳酸铵和相应的醛或酮为原料, 于25℃~45℃超声波作用3~4h合成八种5, 5-二取代乙内酰脲, 收率30.1~100%。与传统方法比较, 反应时间缩短, 产品收率提高。     

Deposition of Layer－by－layer Inorganic－organic Nano－hybrid Ultrathin Films onto SBA－15

Deposition of inorganic-organic nano-hybrid ultrathin films onto mesoporous silicate materials has been proven possible by using layer-by-layer assembly method. In combination with sol-gel method, titania, subsequently dye molecules (or polymer) were successfully fabricated onto the inner wall of SBA-15. Their structures were preliminarily characterized by FTIR and solid-state UV-Vis spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and BET surface area measurements,respectively.     

合成1，3－二（3－羟丙基）四甲基二硅氧烷的新方法

用二乙氧基二甲基硅烷与３－氯丙醇反应，合成了新化合物３－氯丙氧基乙氧基二甲基硅烷，然后用格氏反应代替Ｗａｌｔｅｒ的钠缩合反应，最后经水解制备了１，３－二（３－羟丙基）四甲基二硅氧烷，总收率为４２．０％。
