Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, accountable for a total of 10 million deaths in the year 2020, according to GLOBOCAN 2020. The advancements in the field of cancer research indicate the need for direction towards the development of new drug candidates that are instrumental in a tumour-specific action. The pool of natural compounds proves to be a promising avenue for the discovery of groundbreaking cancer therapeutics. Elaeocarpus ganitrus (Rudraksha) is known to possess antioxidant properties and after a thorough review of literature, it was speculated to possess significant biomedical potential. Green synthesis of nanoparticles is an environmentally friendly approach intended to eliminate toxic waste and reduce energy consumption. This approach was reported for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from two different solvent extracts: aqueous and methanolic. These were characterized by biophysical and spectroscopic techniques, namely, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, EDX, DLS, SEM, and GC-MS. The results showed that the nanoconjugates were spherical in geometry. Further, the assessment of antibacterial, antifungal, and antiproliferative activities was conducted which yielded results that were qualitatively positive at the nanoscale. The nanoconjugates were also evaluated for their anticancer properties using a standard MTT Assay. The interactions between the phytochemicals (ligands) and selected cancer receptors were also visualized in silico using the PyRx tool for molecular docking.  相似文献

TiO2–graphene oxide nanocomposites have been fabricated by the sol–gel technique for degradation of a typical cationic dye solution. The prepared photocatalysts were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric‐differential analyses, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area measurement, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. In addition, the photocatalytic activities of samples were evaluated by degradation of methylene blue aqueous solution under the sunlight irradiation. The change in color of solution was evaluated by the UV–vis spectroscopy, and the maximum photocatalytic decoloration (94%) was achieved within 60 min, which exceeded that of pure anatase under the same conditions. The results show that the nanocomposite containing 9.0 wt% of graphene oxide has the superior photocatalytic performance to either single‐phase anatase or other composites containing different amounts of graphene oxide. The experimental degradation data obtained from the batch tests were analyzed by a modified kinetic model, which predicted the performance with higher regression coefficients and lower relative errors. The distribution of TiO2 nanoparticles (<20 nm) on graphene oxide sheets is proposed to be the efficient factor in the homogeneous degradation of dye which can concomitantly improve the photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Reduced‐resistive magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) models are used in understanding different phenomenon in various domains, for example, astrophysics to model magnetotail or for solar arcades [Finn Bozkaya JM, Guzdar PN. In this context, recently, a new generalized reduced‐resistive MHD model, which can make use of an arbitrary density profile was proposed [Després B, Sart R. Reduced resistive MHD in Tokamaks with general density. ESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis 2012; 46 (5):1081–1106. EDP Sciences, SMAI, 2012 online 2011]. We in this work show that this proposed theoretical model can be realized numerically as well, and that it is very robust if the equation set is written in a very particular form using the properties of FEM. To illustrate these points, we pick the current hole configuration [Fujita T, Oikawa T, Suzuki T, Ide S, Sakamoto Y, Koide Y, Hatae T, Naito O, Isayama A, Hayashi N, Shirai H. Plasma equilibrium and confinement in a tokamak with nearly zero central current density in JT‐60U. Our model can be implemented with reasonable computational resources at the price of solving a well‐posed global linear system and it is unconditionally stable. A novel stability indicating LC method was developed and validated for the quantitative determination of riluzole in bulk drugs and in pharmaceutical dosage forms in the presence of its isomers, related substances and degradation products. The drug was subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis (acid, base and neutral), oxidation, photolysis and thermal degradation. Considerable degradation was observed under base hydrolysis and oxidation. The stress samples were assayed against a qualified reference standard and the mass balance was found close to 99.5%. The developed method was validated with respect to linearity, accuracy, precision, specificity, ruggedness and robustness.  相似文献

Herein we describe the synthesis of a series of nickel(II) complexes (C1–C3) with Schiff bases (HL1–HL3) derived from 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazole and ortho/meta/para-nitrobenzaldehyde having composition [Ni(L)2(H2O)2]. The obtained ligands and their complexes were characterized using physico-chemical techniques viz., elemental analysis, magnetic moment study, spectral (electronic, FT-IR, 1H-NMR) and thermal analysis. The elemental analysis and spectral analysis revealed that Schiff bases behave as monoanionic bidentate ligands towards the Ni(II) ion. Whereas, the magnetic moment study suggested the octahedral geometry of all the Ni(II) complexes. The thermal behavior of the complexes has been studied by thermogravimetric analysis and agrees well with the composition of complexes. Further, the biological activities such as antimicrobial and antifungal studies of the Schiff bases and Ni(II) complexes have been screened against bacterial species (Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and fungal species (Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans) activity by MIC method, the results of which revealed that metal complexes exhibited significant antimicrobial activities than their respective ligands against the tested microbial species. Furthermore, the molecular docking technique was employed to investigate the active sites of the selected protein, which indeed helped us to screen the potential anticancer agents among the synthesized ligand and complexes. Further, these compounds have been screened for their in vitro anticancer activity using OVCAR-3 cell line. The results revealed that the complexes are more active than the ligands.  相似文献

Nickel(II)-selective sensor based on dibenzo-18-crown-6 in PVC matrix   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Nickel(II)-selective sensors have been fabricated from poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) matrix membranes containing neutral carrier dibenzo-18-crown-6 as electroactive material, sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as an anion excluder and tris-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP) as plasticizing solvent mediator. The membrane having the composition of crown ether:NaTPB:TEHP:PVC in the ratio 10:1:200:200 (w/w) exhibits best results with linear potential response in the concentration range of 1.0 × 10−5 to 1.0 × 10−1 M and a Nernstian slope of 29.5 mV/decade of activity between 2.6 and 6.8. The sensor exhibits a fast response time of <25 s, is inert towards non-aqueous medium up to 15% (v/v) and was used over a period of 4 months with good reproducibility. It is selective over a number of mono-, bi- and trivalent cations. The practical utility of the sensor has been demonstrated by using it as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Ni2+ against EDTA and also for the estimation of Ni2+ in some Indian brand chocolates.  相似文献
