Solution of an inverse problem for estimation of ionospheric parameters

Taylor-Galerkin algorithms for viscoelastic flow: Application to a model problem

Coupled and decoupled Taylor-Galerkin algorithms are considered for viscoelastic flow and a model problem—transient startup Poiseuille flow in a channel under a fixed pressure gradient. All algorithms reproduce the steady-state solutions and are stable at high elasticity numbers (E). For a fixed mesh, the coupled and decoupled versions (TGC and TGD) give exceptional time-accuracy at low elasticity numbers [to within O(1%) at E = 1] and reasonable accuracy at high elasticity numbers [to within O(10%) at E = 10, 100]. By definition, the decoupled false-transient scheme (TGF), which uses different time scales for velocity and stress time stepping, provides a poor transient history. Where the main requirement is to compute a steady-state algorithm efficiency is crucial. The TGF scheme attains a steady state between six to eight times faster than does the TGC scheme, and the latter is over twice as fast as the TGD form. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Frequent oscillation in a nonlinear partial difference equation

This paper is concerned with a class of nonlinear delay partial difference equations with variable coefficients, which may change sign. By making use of frequency measures, some new oscillatory criteria are established. This is the first time oscillation of these partial difference equations is discussed by employing frequency measures.      

On interior points of a set of equations with singular periodic solutions

We present and exemplify a condition for the existence of singular periodic solutions to an equation of the Riccati type and all proximate equations.     

十四烷基三甲基溴化铵对膨润土改性合成及其表征

用阳离子表面活性剂十四烷基三甲基溴化铵(C17H38NBr)对膨润土进行插层改性制备.配制浓度为2.35%十四烷基三甲基溴化铵溶液备用.在碘量瓶中称取3.04g膨润土,加入30mL超纯水、10mL十四烷基三甲基溴化铵溶液,制成土浆,放入微波炉中反应1min.产物经抽滤、洗涤、烘干、研磨,做FT-IR和DSC-TG分析.DSC曲线在500℃时有一明显的放热峰;TG曲线显示改性土的失重率有明显的增大.有机改性膨润土中确实含有大量有机物,改性成功.     

Onset of detonation in polydispersed fuel–air mixtures

Investigations of detonation onset in pulverized fuel–air mixtures were carried out. Combustion and detonation processes in sprays differ greatly from that in homogeneous mixtures, because not only chemical reactions, but physical processes of combustible mixture formation take place within the combustion zone (droplets atomization and evaporation). The polydispersed character of mixture and non-uniformity of droplet spatial distribution strongly affects spray combustion and detonation onset. The present paper contains the results of theoretical and experimental investigations of detonation onset peculiarities in polydispersed non-uniform hydrocarbon–air mixtures.
