Methylene blue (MB) removal using eco-friendly, cost-effective, and freely available Urtica was investigated. The morphology of the adsorbent surface and the nature of the possible Urtica and MB interactions were examined using SEM analysis and the FTIR technique, respectively. Various factors affecting MB adsorption such as adsorption time, initial MB concentration, temperature, and solution pH were investigated. The adsorption process was analysed using different kinetic models and isotherms. The results showed that the MB adsorption kinetic follows a pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the isotherm data fit the Langmuir isotherm well. Thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔG°, ΔH°, and ΔS°, were also evaluated, and the results indicated that the adsorption process is endothermic and spontaneous in nature. The MB adsorption capacity of Urtica was found to be as high as 101.01 mg g?1, higher than those of many other adsorbents studied in the literature. This superior adsorption capacity, along with the ready availability of Urtica, render this adsorbent potentially suitable for practical applications. 相似文献

A new method for solving a class of nonlinear boundary-value problems is presented. In this method, the nonlinear equation is linearized by guessing an initial solution and using it to evaluate the nonlinear terms. Next, a method of weighted residuals is applied to transform the linearized form of the boundary value problem to an initial value problem. The second (improved) solution is obtained by integrating the initial value problem by a fourth order Runge-Kutta scheme. Heat-transfer enhancement in a uniformly heated slot mini-channel due to vortices shed from an adiabatic circular cylinder is numerically investigated. The effects of gap spacing between the cylinder and bottom wall on wall heat transfer and pressure drop are systemically studied. Numerical simulations are performed at Re=100, 0.1?Pr?10 and a blockage ratio of D/H=1/3. Results within the thermally developing flow region show heat transfer augmentation compared to the plane channel. It was found that when the obstacle is placed in the middle of the duct, maximum heat transfer enhancement from channel walls is achieved. Displacement of circular cylinder towards the bottom wall leads to the suppression of the vortex shedding, the establishment of a steady flow and a reduction of both wall heat transfer and pressure drop. Performance analysis indicates that the proposed heat transfer enhancement mechanism is beneficial for low-Prandtl-number fluids. 相似文献

We report the use of the spray pyrolysis method to design self‐assembled isotropic ternary architectures made up of reduced graphene oxide (GO), functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes, and nickel oxide nanoparticles for cost‐effective high‐performance supercapacitor devices. Electrodes fabricated from this novel ternary system exhibit exceptionally high capacitance (2074 Fg?1) due to the highly conductive network, synergistic link between GO and carbon nanotubes and achieving high surface area monodispersed NiO decorated rGO/CNTs composite employing the liquid crystallinity of GO dispersions. To further assess the practicality of this material for supercapacitor manufacture, we assembled an asymmetric supercapacitor device incorporating activated carbon as the anode. The asymmetric supercapacitor device showed remarkable capacity retention (>96%), high energy density (23 Wh kg?1), and a coulombic efficiency of 99.5%. 相似文献

Platinum nano sized particles (Pt NPs) are superior catalysts for many intentions, such as glucose sensors, cancer therapy, gas sensors, etc. Here, Pt NPs were produced by pulsed laser ablation in C2H6O2 solution using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, for the first time. Then, the influence of the laser fluence during synthesis of them was investigated; and they were characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy, TEM, FE-SEM, XRD, FT-IR, and Raman spectroscopy. The results showed that with increasing laser fluence, the mean particle size of the spherical NPs enhanced. Meanwhile, they had a polycrystalline cubic structure. Correspondingly, the plasmon peak position of generated NPs in the absorption spectra shifted from 257 to 266 nm, with a rise of laser fluence. The IR and Raman spectroscopy was used to achieve the information about the surface state of Pt NPs. We propose that the optimum adjusted laser fluence is an important factor to increase the ablation efficiency. 相似文献

This fact is well known that during any scenario of production, asphaltene deposition in porous media has a substantial effect on oil flow. But a clear understanding of asphaltene deposition mechanisms can help to minimize asphaltenic problem in oil-bearing formations. In this study, the experimental results of three dynamic CO2 miscible injection tests were investigated. Regarding the effects of adsorption, mechanical entrapment, and sweeping mechanisms on permeability behavior, a mathematical mass and permeability variation model were developed. According to the experimental results asphaltene deposition causes a 70% loss of sand stone initial permeability while the loss is significantly low in carbonate cores, about 30%. The model validation shows that the main particulate processes of Asphaltene deposition in sandstone cores are the cake forming and adsorption while in the case of carbonate cores, are the gradual pore blocking and pore sweeping. Obtained results from mass model provide that entrainment and deposition coefficients in square mass model lead to a more flexible trend than the linear variation of general model. 相似文献
