We describe a novel UV-curable mold that is stiff enough for replicating dense sub-100-nm features even with a high aspect ratio. It also allows for flexibility when the mold is prepared on a flexible support such that large area replication can be accomplished. The composite material of the mold is inert to chemicals and solvents. The surface energy is made low with a small amount of releasing agent such that the mold can be removed easily and cleanly after patterning. In addition, the material allows self-replication of the mold. These unique features of the mold material should make the mold quite useful for various patterning purposes. 相似文献

The preparation of an 1,3-alternate calix[4]arene phosphorus ligand, 25,27-bis(2-(diphenylphosphino)ethoxy)-26,28-bis(1-propyloxy)calix[4]arene (3), is presented. Ligand 3 is obtained in three steps in 64% overall yield. Reaction of 3 with [Rh(cot)2]BF4 produced the encapsulated rhodium complex [Rh[(P,P)-diphen-calix[4]arene]]BF4 (4). As revealed by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study, the rhodium center has a bent coordination environment with a P-Rh-P angle of 135.66(3) degrees. Palladation of 3 employing [Pd(MeCN)4](BF4)2 yielded the chelate palladium complex 7 in which the palladium center has a slightly bent configuration. Treatment of the ligand with Pd(cod)Cl2 and [Pd(eta3-C4H7)(THF)2]BF4 leads to the isolation of the monometallic complex. We investigate the adsorption of four different organic dyes (i.e., methyl orange, alizarin red S, brilliant blue FCF, and phenol red) on porous xerogels. To understand the factors affecting the adsorption capacity of the xerogels, we vary the hydrophobicity and the textural properties of the xerogels as well as the solution pH. We control the hydrophobicity by mixing two different precursors (i.e., vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS)) and the textural properties by using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a templating agent. We find that the adsorption capacity is enhanced as the organic/inorganic hybrid xerogel or the templated xerogel is used instead of the purely inorganic or the untemplated xerogel. In all the cases studied, adsorption decreases as the pH is increased due to the electrostatic repulsion between the dyes and the xerogel surface. We find that both the hydrophobic surface and larger pore size/volume are required to enhance the adsorption capacity significantly. 相似文献

Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) catalyzed by high oxidation state metal salts of FeX3 is developed for the first time in the absence of both external initiator and reducing agent. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) and styrene are polymerized successfully using FeX3/Phosphorous ligands with well‐controlled molecular weight distributions (=1.5). The molecular weight of the polymers increases with monomer consumption with the progress of time and the polymerization behaviors show a decent ATRP trend. Activators and initiators are suggested to generate in situ by the addition reaction of MMA and one equivalent of FeX3. The PMMA synthesized from without‐initiator system is characterized by 1H, 13C and DEPT (distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer nuclear magnetic resonance) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Chain extension and copolymerization experiments prove the livingness of the obtained polymer.

We have experimentally investigated the electrostatic charging of a water droplet on an electrified electrode surface to explain the detailed inductive charging processes and use them for the detection of droplet position in a lab-on-a-chip system. The periodic bouncing motion of a droplet between two planar electrodes has been examined by using a high-resolution electrometer and an image analysis method. We have found that this charging process consists of three steps. The first step is inductive charge accumulation on the opposite electrode by the charge of a droplet. This induction process occurs while the droplet approaches the electrode, and it produces an induction current signal at the electrometer. The second step is the discharging of the droplet by the accumulated induced charge at the moment of contact. For this second step, there is no charge-transfer detection at the electrometer. The third step is the charging of the neutralized droplet to a certain charged state while the droplet is in contact with the electrode. The charge transfer of the third step is detected as the pulse-type signal of an electrometer. The second and third steps occur simultaneously and rapidly. We have found that the induction current by the movement of a charged droplet can be accurately used to measure the charge of the droplet and can also be used to monitor the position of a droplet under actuation. The implications of the current findings for understanding and measuring the charging process are discussed. 相似文献

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have gained increasing attention as physicians and scientists learn more about the role these extraordinarily rare cells play in metastatic cancer. In developing CTC technology, the critical criteria are high recovery rates and high purity. Current isolation methods suffer from an inherent trade-off between these two goals. Moreover, ensuring minimal cell stress and robust reproducibility is also important for the clinical application of CTCs. In this paper, we introduce a novel CTC isolation technology using selective size amplification (SSA) for target cells and a multi-obstacle architecture (MOA) filter to overcome this trade-off, improving both recovery rate and purity. We also demonstrate SSA-MOA's advantages in minimizing cell deformation during filter transit, resulting in more stable and robust CTC isolation. In this technique, polymer microbeads conjugated with anti-epithelial cell adhesion molecules (anti-EpCAM) were used to selectively size-amplify MCF-7 breast cancer cells, definitively differentiating from the white blood cells (WBCs) by avoiding the size overlap that compromises other size selection methods. 3 μm was determined to be the optimal microbead diameter, not only for size discrimination but also in maximizing CTC surface coverage. A multi-obstacle architecture filter was fabricated using silicon-on-glass (SOG) technology-a first such application of this fabrication technique-to create a precise microfilter structure with a high aspect ratio. The filter was designed to minimize cell deformation as simulation results predicted that cells captured via this MOA filter would experience 22% less moving force than with a single-obstacle architecture. This was verified by experiments, as we observed reliable cell capture and reduced cell deformation, with a 92% average recovery rate and 351 peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL) per millilitre (average). We expect the SSA-MOA platform to optimize CTC recovery rates, purity, and stability, increasing the sensitivity and reliability of such tests, thereby potentially expanding the utilization of CTC technologies in the clinic. 相似文献

We developed a method for the simultaneous quantification of aceclofenac and its three major metabolites in rat plasma. After protein precipitation with acetonitrile including flufenamic acid as an internal standard (IS), aceclofenac, diclofenac, 4'-hydroxyaceclofenac, 4'-hydroxydiclofenac, and the IS were chromatographed on a reverse-phase C18 analytical column. The isocratic mobile phase of acetonitrile/0.1% formic acid (aq; 9:1 [v/v]) was eluted at 0.3 mL/min. Quantification was performed on a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer using electrospray ionization, and the ion transitions were monitored in selective reaction-monitoring mode. The coefficient of variation in the assay precision was less than 8%, and the accuracy was 92-103%. This method was successfully used to measure the concentrations of aceclofenac and its three major metabolites in rat plasma following the oral administration of a single 20 mg/kg oral dose of aceclofenac. 相似文献

The adsorption and thermal stability of 2-octylthieno[3,4-b]thiophene (OTTP) on the Au(111) surfaces have been studied using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), temperature programmed desorption (TPD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). UHV-STM studies revealed that the vapor-deposited OTTP on Au(111) generated disordered adlayers with monolayer thickness even at saturation coverage. XPS and TPD studies indicated that OTTP molecules on Au(111) are stable up to 450K and further heating of the sample resulted in thermal decomposition to produce H(2) and H(2)S via C-S bond scission in the thieno-thiophene rings. Dehydrogenation continues to occur above 600K and the molecules were ultimately transformed to carbon clusters at 900K. Highly resolved air-STM images showed that OTTP adlayers on Au(111) prepared from solution are composed of a well-ordered and low-coverage phase where the molecules lie flat on the surface, which can be assigned as a (9×2√33)R5° structure. Finally, based on analysis of STM, TPD, and XPS results, we propose a thermal decomposition mechanism of OTTP on Au(111) as a function of annealing temperature. 相似文献

A critical drawback with first-principles thermodynamic calculations is the absence of the vibrational and entropic contributions to the prediction of reaction mechanisms, which could conclusively show that the predicted reaction mechanism might be not the most stable reaction path. This study focused on providing an answer to this problem by examining possible metastable paths for five reactant mixtures whose reaction mechanisms were previously predicted using first-principles thermodynamic calculations. The aim of this study was to find a minimum free energy path among all the possible paths of each reactant mixture. This effort provided the clear conclusion that the original reaction paths predicted from first-principles thermodynamic calculations were the most stable reaction paths at an appropriate H(2) pressure range for all cases. An additional examination associated with density functional theory uncertainty suggests how the ambiguity of reaction mechanisms predicted based on thermodynamic calculations should be understood and dealt with. 相似文献
