Several hexaazatrinaphthylene derivatives and a tris(thieno)hexaazatriphenylene derivative have been synthesised by reaction of the appropriate diamines with hexaketocyclohexane. The crystal structure of 2,3,8,9,14,15-hexachloro-5,6,11,12,17,18-hexaazatrinaphthylene has been determined by X-ray diffraction; this reveals a molecular structure in good agreement with that predicted by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and pi-stacking with an average spacing between adjacent molecular planes of 3.18 A. Solid-state ionisation potentials have been measured by using UV photoelectron spectroscopy and fall in the range of 5.99 to 7.76 eV, whereas solid-state electron affinities, measured using inverse photoelectron spectroscopy, vary in the range -2.65 to -4.59 eV. The most easily reduced example is a tris(thieno)hexaazatriphenylene substituted with bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl groups; DFT calculations suggest that the highly exothermic electron affinity is due both to the replacement of the outermost phenylene rings of hexaazatrinaphthylene with thieno groups and to the presence of electron-withdrawing bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl groups. The rather exothermic electron affinities, the potential for adopting pi-stacked structures and the low intramolecular reorganisation energies obtained by DFT calculations suggest that some of these molecules may be useful electron-transport materials.  相似文献

A new flow electrical conductance instrument was constructed and tested on dilute NaCl solutions up to 458 K, and on more concentrated solutions (maximum 0.436 mol⋅kg−1) at 373 K. The results of the new instrument agreed with those of previous authors within the estimated experimental errors. The model of Bernard et al. (J. Phys. Chem. 96, 3833–3840 (1992), MSA) was found to represent the high-temperature results without introducing an ion-pairing equilibrium constant. The Fuoss–Hsia conductance equation as given by Fernandez-Prini was found to represent the dilute concentrations with Λ° (NaCl) as the only adjustable parameter. It was found that Λ° (NaCl) could be expressed as a function of solvent viscosity and density by using three parameters found by regression of literature results between 278.15 and 523 K. This equation along with the FHFP theory permits the equivalent conductivity of dilute sodium chloride solutions to be calculated within the accuracy of the existing experimental measurements.  相似文献

The phosphido-bridged dicopper(I) complex {(PPP)Cu}2 has been synthesized and structurally characterized ([PPP]- = bis(2-di-iso-propylphosphinophenyl)phosphide). Cyclic voltammetry of {(PPP)Cu}2 in THF shows fully reversible oxidations at -1.02 V (Cu1.5Cu1.5/CuICuI) and -0.423 V (CuIICuII/Cu1.5Cu1.5). Chemical oxidation of {(PPP)Cu}2 by one electron yields the class III mixed-valence species [{(PPP)Cu}2]+ (EPR, UV-vis). Structural data establish an unexpectedly large change (0.538 A) in the Cu...Cu distance upon oxidation state. Oxidation of {(PPP)Cu}2 by two electrons yields the dication [{(PPP)Cu}2]2+, an antiferromagnetically coupled dicopper(II) complex. Maintenance of a pseudotetrahedral geometry that is midway between a square plane and an ideal tetrahedron at the copper centers, along with a high degree of flexibility at the phosphide hinges, allows for efficient access to CuICuI, Cu1.5Cu1.5, and CuIICuII redox states without the need for ligand exchange, substitution, or redistribution processes.  相似文献

A procedure for calculating the magnetic circular dichroism C/D ratio from density functional theory calculations is discussed. The method is simplified considerably through the application of group theory and the irreducible-tensor method and only requires integrals of the magnetic dipole moment operator over a few orbitals and published tables of symmetry factors. The implementation of the method is tested through application to several small and medium-sized molecules.  相似文献

The effects of confinement of the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate on solvation dynamics and rotational relaxation of Coumarin 153 (C-153) in Triton X-100/cyclohexane microemulsions have been explored using steady-state and picosecond time-resolved emission spectroscopy. The steady-state and rotational relaxation data indicate that C-153 molecules are incorporated in the core of the microemulsions. The average rotational relaxation time increases with increase in w ([bmim][BF(4)]/[TX-100]) values. The solvent relaxation in the core of the microemulsion occurs on two different time scales and is almost insensitive to the increase in w values. The solvent relaxation is retarded in the pool of the microemulsions compared to the neat solvent. Though, the retardation is very small compared to several-fold retardation of the solvation time of the conventional solvent inside the pool of the microemulsions.  相似文献

A solid-phase synthetic route to quinoxaline, thiazine, and oxazine analogs is described. N-Alloc-3-amino-3-(2,4-difluoro-5-nitrophenyl)propanoic acid was tethered to Rink resin via its carboxylic acid group. The 4-arylfluorine was displaced with a primary amine, alcohol, or thiol to create, respectively, a resin bound aniline, phenol, or thiophenol derivative with one diversity element and one single atom (e.g., N, S, or O) diversity point. A fused heterocyclic system was subsequently created via a benzyne heterocyclization initiated by dehydrofluorination with strong base. Acid treatment released the desired products in high yield and moderate purity.  相似文献

The butyl urea of guanosine (UG) presents an ADDA hydrogen-bonding array that is complementary to the DAAD array of 2,7-diamido-1,8-naphthyridine (DAN). The stability of the DAN.UG complex was measured by fluorimetry using the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) from the naphthyridine ring to a coumarin 343 moiety linked covalently to the UG unit. The quadruply hydrogen-bonded complex is extremely stable with a measured association constant, Kassoc, of 3 x 108 M-1. Unlike related hydrogen-bonding modules, the guanosine urea, UG, contains a relatively fixed tautomeric form and only weakly self-associates (Kdimer = ca. 200 M-1). The DAN unit was linked to a styrene-based monomer and copolymerized with styrene to form a polymer (PS-DAN) containing a controlled number of the DAAD recognition units. Likewise, a methacrylate monomer containing the UG unit was copolymerized with butyl methacrylate to form a polymer (PBMA-UG). Blends formed from PS-DAN and PBMA-UG were characterized by DSC, SEC, and viscometry. The importance of selective heterocomplexation and weak self-association in forming the blended networks was demonstrated by using a ureidopyrimidinone (UPy) unit, which also forms strong heterocomplexes with DAN but is able to strongly self-associate.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] A detailed study concerning the formation of Meisenheimer adducts in biphasic solvent systems is described. The process relies on utilizing a significantly lipophilic quaternary ammonium salt to transfer a nucleophile (e.g., hydroxide ion) between an aqueous and organic layer containing the electron-deficient aromatic substrate. Provided that the organic layer is sufficiently apolar, the resultant Meisenheimer adduct is considerably stable, likely the result of a strong ion-pairing interaction between the large polarizable anionic complex and the diffusively charged tetraalkylammonium cation. Using the diethylamide of 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid as a model compound, the influence of ion-pairing reagents and solvents on adduct formation was investigated. Dramatically increased equilibrium formation of the Meisenheimer adduct is observed in the biphasic medium (e.g., benzene/2 M NaOH) relative to the same adduct generated in single-phase systems. Spectroscopic studies on this adduct are consistent with those conducted in single-phase polar or dipolar aprotic solvents. The methodology is extended to performing highly enantioselective biphasic kinetic resolutions of several racemic electron-deficient amides.  相似文献

Heavy metal based oxide glasses having composition xBi(2)O(3).(0.30 - x)PbO.0.70B(2)O(3) have been prepared (0.00 < or = x < or = 0.15, mol%) containing 2.0mol% of V(2)O(5) by normal melt-quenching technique. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), optical spectra and dc conductivity of these glasses have been studied. Spin Hamiltonian parameters (SHP) of VO(2+) ions, dipolar hyperfine parameter, P and Fermi contact interaction parameter, K, molecular orbital coefficients (alpha(2) and gamma(2)) and optical band gap have been calculated. It is observed that in these glasses, the tetragonal nature of V(4+)O(6) complex increases with Bi(2)O(3) content. Increase in Bi(2)O(3):PbO ratio results in the contraction of 3d(xy) orbit of the unpaired electron in the vanadium ion, and the SHP are dependent on the theoretical optical basicity, Lambda(th). In present glasses, the conductivity (activation energy) first decreases (increases) with increase in mol% of Bi(2)O(3) content upto x = 0.08 and then shows a maxima (minima) at x = 0.10 and then starts decreasing (increasing) upto x < or = 0.15 with mol% of Bi(2)O(3) content.  相似文献
