Indicator properties of oligoethylene glycol hybrids with sterically hindered phenols

Aqueous solutions of hybrid compounds (conjugates) formed by polyethylene glycols modified at the terminal hydroxy groups with sterically hindered phenol lose their phase stability at a certain temperature which depends on the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol, structure of sterically hindered phenol, conjugate concentration, and composition of the medium. This property may be used to estimate the effect of structural factors on the hydrophobic-hydrophilic balance in the conjugate-water system.     

Palladium-catalyzed reactions for the synthesis of chlorins and 5,10-porphodimethenes

The palladium-catalyzed reaction of RLi with various 5,10,15,20-tetrasubstituted porphyrins offers a convenient synthetic route to chlorins and porphodimethenes (calixphyrins). The reactions utilized various Pd catalysts and CuI and yielded either 2,3-substituted chlorins or 5,10-disubstituted porphodimethenes in yields ranging from 20-40%. The reaction of octaethylporphyrin with t-BuLi in the presence of a Pd-catalyst generated the corresponding 5,10-porphodimethene in 72% yield.     

Preparation and study of properties of sulfonic acid ion exchangers based on polypropylene fibrous material

The possibility of raising the static exchange capacity of strongly acidic ion-exchange materials produced by grafting of styrene onto polypropylene fibers, with the subsequent sulfonation of the products synthesized, was analyzed. The chemical and osmotic stabilities of the sulfonic cation exchangers obtained and their frost resistance in freeze-thaw cycles were studied.     

Synthesis of kairomones and their analogs from 2-acylcyclohexane-1,3-diones with an unsaturated acyl side chain

Natural 2-[(9Z)-1-oxooctadec-9-en-1-yl]-, 2-[(9Z,12Z)-1-oxooctadeca-9,12-dien-1-yl]-, and 2-[(9Z,12Z,15Z)-1-oxooctadeca-9,12,15-trien-1-yl]cyclohexane-1,3-diones (components of flour moth Ephestia kuehniella kairomones) and some their analogs were synthesized from cyclohexane-1,3-diones and long-chain unsaturated carboxylic acid chlorides.     

3x-pyrrolizin-3-ones

Condensation of pyrrole-2-dithiocarboxylates with CH acids containing ester groups, in the KOH-DMSO system, was used to prepare previously unknown 1-alkylthio-3H pyrrolizin-3-ones. The latter, treated with secondary amines, are readily converted to the corresponding 1-amino derivatives.     

3-H-pyrrolizin-3-ones

Previously unknown 1-alkylthio-3H-pyrrolizin-3-ones have been obtained by the condensation of pyrrole-2-dithiocarboxylates with CH acids containing ester groupings in the KOH-DMSO system. The relationship between self-organization and membrane effects of aqueous dispersion systems of the thyroliberin oligopeptide

The relationship between rearrangement of the dispersed phase inducing considerable changes in the pH and nonmonotonic concentration dependences of membrane effects in aqueous systems of the endogenous regulatory peptide, thyroliberin (thyrotropin-releasing hormone), in 10^–3–10^–16 mol/L concentration range was demonstrated for the first time. The membrane structure modification in the 10^–13–10^–16 mol/L range was found to be due to accumulation of nanoassociates, while the oppositely directed pronounced structural changes in the 10^–6–10^–12 mol/L range may be associated with the coexistence and rearrangement of dispersed phases of various nature (domains and associates) whose action on membrane lipid components is regulated in this concentration range by the correlated changes in the dispersed phase parameters and pH.     

Interaction of albumin and γ-globulin molecules with gold nanoparticles in water solutions

The molecular mobility of scattering particles in water solutions of albumin and γ-globulin proteins with gold nanoparticles was investigated by the dynamic light scattering method. The dependences of translation diffusion coefficients of particles at various concentrations of the solution components have been obtained. It was revealed that in a wide range of concentrations of the solution components there is no interaction of gold nanoparticles with albumin, whereas gold nanoparticles form complexes with γ-globulin molecules.
