The applicability of a modified form of Linderberg’s relation containing an adjustable parameter is tested by calculating the singlet transition energies of a large number of heteroaromatic systems. It is found that for best fit the parameter has to be varied according to the nature of the heteroatom. This finding is in agreement with the analysis reported earlier of a model one-electron two-inequivalent centre system. However, since the individual parameters do not show large deviation from unity, a simple alternative is explored in which the original Linderberg relation is preserved but the ionisation potential is adjusted. Results on systems containing nitrogen, oxygen and fluorine as heteroatoms are presented in support of the alternate scheme.  相似文献

Abstract. Thermoluminescence excitation spectra of adenine, guanine, thymine and 1,3-dimethyluracil were observed to be similar to their phosphorescence excitation spectra. Intensity dependence studies of thermoluminescence induced by ultraviolet light suggest that thermoluminescence could not be due to biphotonic ionisation of the molecule by UV. Evidence is presented which demonstrates that the fluorescence component observed in thermoluminescence of some compounds may not be due to triplet-triplet fusion. Further, phosphorescence and thermoluminescence measurements following excitation with monochromatic light at very low intensities and short durations have shown for both a linear dependence on excitation intensity. It thus appears that direct entry of the electrons from the traps into the singlet manifold is necessary for explaining the fluorescence component of thermoluminescence.  相似文献

Poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) nanoparticles loaded with asiatic acid (AA) were successfully produced by rapid expansion of a subcritical solution into an aqueous receiving solution containing a dispersing agent. A mixture of carbon dioxide (CO2) and ethanol (EtOH) with a weight ratio of 1:1 was used as the solvent for AA and PLLA. Two surfactants, Pluronic F127 and sodium dodecyl sulfate were employed. The former was found to be more effective for stabilizing AA-loaded PLLA nanoparticles, as a rapid expansion into a 0.1 wt% Pluronic F127 solution produced a stable nanosuspension consisting mainly of well-dispersed, individual nanoparticles. The effects of rapid expansion-processing conditions—AA to PLLA weight ratio and pre-expansion temperature (Tpre)—on the size and morphology of composite nanoparticles, and the loading capacity and entrapment efficiency of AA in PLLA nanoparticles, were systematically investigated. It was found that AA-loaded PLLA nanoparticles with a size range of 30–100 nm were consistently fabricated by rapid expansion at Tpre of 70–100 °C and AA to PLLA weight ratios of 1:2 and 1:4, and with a constant pre-expansion pressure of 330 bar. The Tpre and AA to PLLA weight ratio had no significant effects on the size of the nanoparticles. The AA to PLLA weight ratio is a controlling parameter for both the loading capacity and the entrapment efficiency of AA in PLLA nanoparticles. The loading capacity and entrapment efficiency increased from 8–11 to 16–21 wt%, and 38–57 to 50–62 wt%, respectively, when the AA to PLLA weight ratio changed from 1:4 to 1:2. However, increasing the Tpre from 70 to 100 °C decreased both the loading capacity and entrapment efficiency of AA in PLLA nanoparticles by ~20–30%.  相似文献

Biodegradable polymer nanocomposites, due to their biodegradability and other improved properties possess tremendous scope in the industrial sector. This current article reviews the recent studies carried out over biodegradable polymer nanocomposites that includes preparation, characterization, properties, and applications of nanocomposites based on biodegradable polymers. An orderly introduction of nanocomposites prepared by using various biodegradable aliphatic polyesters and polymers obtained from biomass products has been brought about. A wide range of organic and inorganic nanoparticles was used as additives or fillers to prepare nanocomposites with improved desired properties. This paper presents results of the experimental study conducted on heated horizontal rectangular fin array under natural convection. The temperature mapping and the prediction of the flow patterns over the fin array with variable fin spacing is carried out. Dimensionless fin spacing to height (S/H) ratio is varied from 0.05 to 0.3 and length to height ratio (L/H) = 5 is kept constant. The heater input to the fin array assembly is varied from 25 to 100 W. The single chimney flow pattern is observed from 8 to 12 mm fin spacing. The end flow is choked below 6 mm fin spacing. The single chimney flow pattern changes to sliding or end flow choking at 6 mm fin spacing. The average heat transfer coefficient (ha) is very small (2.52–5.78 W/m2 K) at 100 W for S = 5–12 mm. The ha is very small (1.12–1.8 W/m2 K) at 100 W for 2–4 mm fin spacing due to choked fin array end condition. The end flow is not sufficient to reach up to central portion of fin array and in the middle portion there is an unsteady down and up flow pattern resulting in sliding chimney. The central bottom portion of fin array channel does not contribute much in heat dissipation for S = 2–4 mm. The ha has significantly improved at higher spacing as compared to lower spacing region. The single chimney flow pattern is preferred from heat transfer point of view. The optimum spacing is confirmed in the range of 8–10 mm. The average heat transfer results are compared with previous literature and showed similar trend and satisfactory agreement. An empirical equation has been proposed to correlate the average Nusselt number as a function of Grashof number and fin spacing to height ratio. Let be a smooth, affine variety of dimension n≥2 over the field R of real numbers. Let P be a projective A-module of such that its nth Chern class is zero. In this set-up, Bhatwadekar-Das-Mandal showed (amongst many other results) that P?AQ in the case that either n is odd or the topological space X(R) of real points of X does not have a compact, connected component.
