High electrochemical reactivity is required for various energy and sensing applications of graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Herein, we report that heterogeneous electron transfer can be remarkably fast at CVD‐grown graphene electrodes that are fabricated without using the conventional poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) for graphene transfer from a growth substrate. We use nanogap voltammetry based on scanning electrochemical microscopy to obtain very high standard rate constants k0≥25 cm s?1 for ferrocenemethanol oxidation at polystyrene‐supported graphene. The rate constants are at least 2–3 orders of magnitude higher than those at PMMA‐transferred graphene, which demonstrates an anomalously weak dependence of electron‐transfer rates on the potential. Slow kinetics at PMMA‐transferred graphene is attributed to the presence of residual PMMA. This unprecedentedly high reactivity of PMMA‐free CVD‐grown graphene electrodes is fundamentally and practically important.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive and specific high-performance liquid chromatography method is described for simultaneous determination of rosuvastatin (RST) and gemfibrozil (GFZ) in human plasma using celecoxib as an internal standard (IS). The assay procedure involved extraction of RST, GFZ and IS from plasma into acetonitrile. Following separation and evaporation of the organic layer the residue was reconstituted in the mobile phase and injected onto an X-Terra C(18) column (4.6 x 150 mm, 5.0 microm). The chromatographic run time was less than 20 min using flow gradient (0.0-1.60 mL/min) with a mobile phase consisting of 0.01 M ammonium acetate:acetonitrile:methanol (50:40:10, v/v/v) and UV detection at 275 nm. Nominal retention times of RST, GFZ and IS were 6.7, 13.9 and 16.4 min, respectively. Absolute recovery of both analytes and IS was greater than 90%. The lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) of RST and GFZ was 0.03 and 0.30 microg/mL, respectively. Linearity was excellent (r(2) = 0.999) in the 0.03-10 microg/mL and 0.3-100 microg/mL ranges for RST and GFZ, respectively. The inter- and intra-day precisions in the measurement of RST quality control (QC) samples 0.03, 0.09, 2.50 and 8.00 microg/mL were in the range 2.37-9.78% relative standard deviation (RSD) and 0.92-10.08% RSD, respectively. Similarly, the inter- and intra-day precisions in the measurement of GFZ quality control (QC) samples 0.30, 0.90, 25.0 and 80.0 microg/mL were in the ranges 2.79-6.27 and 0.96-9.69% RSD, respectively. Accuracies in the measurement of QC samples for RST and GFZ were in the range 85.43-107.23 and 84.98-102.35% respectively, of the nominal values. RST and GFZ were stable in the array of stability studies viz., bench-top, auto-sampler and freeze-thaw cycles. Stability of RST and GFZ was established for 1 month at -80C. The application of the assay in an oral pharmacokinetic study in rats co-administered with RST and GFZ is described.  相似文献

This study deals with the use of ethanol as washing solvent in the preparation of the silica gels from sodium silicate in order to enhance the textural properties, especially surface area. We here examined the effect of ethanol-washing on surface area, micro- and mesopore volume, and average pore size. The silica xerogels prepared from sodium silicate solution exhibited an extremely high surface area of 1139 m2/g by washing their hydrogels with ethanol. Compared to water-washed xerogels, ethanol-washed xerogels showed higher surface areas, total pore volumes, and larger average pore sizes. Unlike the surface area of water-washed xerogel, that of the ethanol-washed xerogel was not affected by the silica concentration of initial solution. This study indicates that the textural properties of sodium silicate-derived xerogels are further enhanced by using ethanol as washing solvent.  相似文献

A novel, exceptionally stable titanium superoxide radical ion was prepared and its structure determined by FTIR, ESR, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis and elemental analysis. This heterogeneous catalyst has been found to be effective for the selective oxidation of aromatic amines and phenols to the corresponding nitro aromatics and p-quinones, respectively. In addition, this non-toxic, inexpensive and reusable catalyst has also been used in aminobromination of olefins, which proceed to give the 1, 2-bromoaminated anti-Markovnikov product. A brief account of these results is summarized in this review.  相似文献

Despite biological variability the spectral characteristics of undiluted human urine show relatively low autofluorescence at short UV (250-300 nm) excitation. However with dilution the fluorescence intensity remarkably increases. This paper examines the mechanisms behind this effect, by using excitation-emission matrices. Corrections for the inner filter effect were made for improved understanding of the spectral patterns. We focused on three major fluorophores (tryptophan, indoxyl sulfate and 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetate) that are excited at these wavelengths, and whose content in urine is strongly linked with various health conditions. Their fluorescence was studied both individually and in combinations. We also examined the effect of ammonium on the fluorescence of these major fluorophores individually and in combinations. Through these studies we have identified the leading effects that reduce the UV fluorescence, namely higher concentration of indoxyl sulfate producing the inner filter effect and concentration quenching and quenching of fluorophores by ammonium. This result will assist in broader utilisation of UV fluorescence in medical diagnostics.  相似文献
