In the present study adsorption behavior of methylene blue and rhodamine B from aqueous solution using adsorbent prepared from “Hyptis suaveolens” (Vilayti Tulsi) was investigated as a function of parameters such as initial concentration, adsorbent dose, pH, contact time and temperature. The adsorption process was pH dependent. The thermodynamic parameters such as $ {{\Updelta}}G,{{\Updelta}}H \,{\text{and}} \,{{\Updelta}}S $ were calculated to investigate the nature of adsorption, their values indicate that the adsorption process is favorable. The first-order, second-order and intra-particle diffusion models were used to describe the kinetic parameter. The Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption models were applied to describe the adsorption equilibrium. Column study was conducted for both dyes.  相似文献

Chlorosulfonyl isocyanata (CSI) reacts with 2H-azirines 1 a-c at -78°C to form [2+2+2] cycloadducts 3a-c and 4a-c. The tricyclic aziridine derivatives 4a-c undergo CSI extrusion reactions and subsequent oxidation to the corresponding pyrazines 5a-c. Structural identifications of 3a-c and 4a-c are based on ir, nmr and mass spectral data.  相似文献

This article looks at atomic force microscopy as an important aid to characterize the self-nanoemulsifying formulation of glibenclamide, lovastatin, and carvedilol in conjunction with other sophisticated technique, viz., transmission electron microscopy and photon correlation spectroscopy. Sizes obtained by processing the atomic force microscopy (AFM) image are comparable with those obtained from transmission electron microscope. Although in the present study, the mean particle size obtained from photon correlation spectroscopy does not correlate to the findings of atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, but the poly-disperse index values correlate well with the findings of AFM and transmission electron microscopy where uniform particle size was observed in aqueous dispersion of self-nanoemulsifying formulation of glibenclamide, lovastatin, and carvedilol.  相似文献

The dynamics of morphological transition in amphiphillic systems such as self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) has become an increasingly active field of research in colloidal science. The present contribution deals with the morphological transition of selected optimized SNEDDS formulations of glibenclamide, carvedilol, and lovastatin on progressive aqueous dilution using transmission electron microscopy. The study emphasizes the structural aspects of the systems and stresses the effect of aqueous dilution under which the systems transform from water-in-oil (L2) phase into bicontinuous structure and, finally, in oil-in-water (L1) nanodroplets.  相似文献

A technique which combines image analysis and polarising optical microscope (POM) is a useful tool for the physical investigation of discotic liquid crystals, such as hexabutoxytriphenylene and hexahexyloxytriphenylene. This investigation includes the phase transitions, optical properties and order parameter as a function of temperature. Textures of discotic liquid crystals are captured as a function of temperature using POM. These microscopic textures are analysed using MATLAB software to compute statistical parameters, Legendre moments, optical parameters and order parameters of discotic liquid crystal samples. Compared with other techniques in the literature, the proposed methodology is a reliable and very simple technique for the physical investigation of liquid crystals.  相似文献

In this article, a newly synthesised ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) material, namely LAHS 22, has been characterised. The characterisation of the FLC material has been performed using dielectric relaxation spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and polarisation optical microscopy. We observed an enhancement in the dielectric and electro-optical properties of the FLC material by incorporating gold nanoparticles (GNPs)-decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The GNPs-decorated MWCNTs cause an increment in dielectric dispersion (up to kHz), absorption, spontaneous polarisation and rotational viscosity of the FLC material. The pure and GNPs-decorated MWCNTs doped FLC cells were analysed by means of various dielectric spectroscopic and optical measurements. The observed enhancement in the dielectric and electro-optical properties of the FLC material has also been studied with concentration of GNPs-decorated MWCNTs in FLC material. The GNPs-decorated MWCNTs/FLC composites are not only of fundamental importance, but also useful materials for device applications such as liquid crystal displays and memory devices.  相似文献

Three banana‐shaped monomers, i.e. 2,7‐naphthalene bis[4‐(4‐allyloxyphenylazo)‐benzoate], 2,7‐naphthalene bis[4‐(4‐allyloxy‐3‐fluorophenylazo)benzoate] and 2,7‐naphthalene bis{4‐[4‐(10‐undecenyloxy)phenylazo]benzoate}, containing azobenzene as side arms, 2,7‐dihydroxynaphthalene as central units and terminal double bonds as polymerisable functional groups, were synthesised and their mesophase behaviour investigated. Polarizing optical microscopy and DSC measurements reveal that all compounds exhibit nematic mesophases. The absorption spectrum of the trans‐azobenzene groups displays a high‐intensity π–π* transition at about 365 nm and a low‐intensity n–π* transition at around 450 nm for all compounds. Hence, photochromism can be achieved by the introduction of the azo linkage to banana‐shaped liquid crystals molecules.  相似文献
