In this article, the merging flow of the stagnation point and the stretching (or shrinking) flows for the Powell-Eyring fluid (one of the non-Newtonian fluids) in the presence of magnetic field is formulated and analyzed mathematically. An analytical solution was developed on the basis of the homotopy analysis method. The effect of the Hartmann number on fluid-velocity and skin-friction is examined. It is observed that the intensive magnetic field reduces the growth of the reverse/secondary flow which is generated after the mixing of the stagnation-point and shrinking-sheet flows. The magnetic force dominates on the viscous force for stretching as well as for shrinking flows. Furthermore, the magnetic force intensifies the axial velocity of the fluids (the Newtonian as well as the Powell-Eyring fluids) but it decays the transverse-velocity of the fluids. Present results are validated with the existing results for the Newtonian fluids and found comparable with negligible errors. 相似文献

This article aims to investigate the hall current consequences on the transfer of clean water containing silver in addition to copper nanoparticles suspended nanofluids through vertical rotating channel. Boussinesq approximation is taken into consideration. Exact analytical solutions of governing equations subject to physical boundary conditions are obtained using the techniques of non-dimensionalization. The impacts of Grashof number, radiation parameter, Prandlt number, frequency parameter, magnetic parameter, Hall parameter, parameter of rotation and its effects on primary as well as secondary velocity and temperature profiles are presented graphically. We analyze the Hall effects and mixed convection in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of nanofluids through a vertical rotating channel, based on extensive research and applications. An analytical approach is used to derive the exact solution to this problem. A comparative study for silver and copper nanoparticles is made. A tabular solution for impacts of said parameters on convection rate and skin friction coefficient is also presented. We consider heat and mass transfer analysis of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Carreau fluid flow along a stretching sheet in a permeable medium with impacts of melting condition, heat generation, double diffusion, and variable thermal conductivity. The novelty of the present work is to study the effects of melting heat transfer and heat generation on MHD flow of Carreau fluid along a stretched sheet in a porous medium with influence of Dufour and Soret effects, and variable thermal conductivity. Similarity transformations procedure is used which transform the partial differential equations (PDEs) of fluid flow model into nonlinear dimensionless ordinary differential equations (ODEs). We obtained numerical solutions of ODEs and the effects of assorted governing parameters are investigated. The results showed that boosting melting parameter increases velocity and concentration fields and reduces temperature profile. Enhancing heat source parameter increases temperature profile, concentration profile observing decline for modified Dufour parameter, Schmidt number, and Soret number, and velocity of the fluid decline for magnetic and porosity parameters. Impact of governing parameters on physical quantities comprising Nusselt number, skin friction, and Sherwood number is evaluated numerically. The accuracy of our results are established in comparison with previous research for skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number. 相似文献

A mathematical model is constructed to investigate the behavior of peristaltic flow of Jeffrey fluid in an inclined tapered asymmetric porous channel. The fluid viscosity is taken as space dependent variable quantity. Heat absorption, Soret and Dufour effects are also retained in the current scrutiny. These preferences have broad applications in engineering, biology and industry. We began our investigation by taking into account the two-dimensional inclined asymmetric porous channel. In the context of mathematical modeling, the appropriate dimensional nonlinear equations for momentum, heat and mass transport are simplified into dimensionless equations by applying the essential estimation of long wavelength and low Reynolds number. The solution of the governing equations is executed numerically. A graphical depiction of many crucial physical characteristics on velocity, temperature, concentration, heat transfer rate, Nusselt number and Streamlines have been reported in ending section. Temperature profile exhibits an escalation with the augmentation of Brinkman number and Dufour number . For the growing values of Prandtl number , an increment in temperature profile is observed whilst a reverse tendency is captured for concentration profile. It is noted that concentration profile falls down owing to the enhancement in Soret number and Schmidt number . An oscillatory outlook is noticed for heat transfer rate and Nusselt number. The novelty of this proposed model in the research domain specifically depends on considerations of the combined study of the Variable viscosity, Darcy resistance, Viscous dissipation, Mixed convention, Heat absorption, Soret and Dufour effects in peristaltic flow of non- Newtonian Jeffrey fluid in an inclined Asymmetric tapered channel under the influence of convective boundary conditions. 相似文献

This study demonstrates a novel, facile and one-pot approach to synthesize silica nanoparticles with silver at core and crust (SiNP-AgCC). A modified Stöber method was used to make SiNP-AgCC. A significant reduction in the size of SiO2 nanoparticles was seen, with 2–5 nm AgNPs being uniformly distributed on the surface and 10–20 nm AgNPs in the center. A typical mesoporous SiO2 particle (SiNP) produced using the Stöber method was transformed to nanoporous SiO2 by this modified Stöber method. Nanoporous SiO2 particles with silver in the center are advantageous for slow and consistent Ag+ release, which was confirmed by Ag+ ion release test. Antibacterial activities of the samples were tested to evaluate the disinfection performance of the samples on gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) using disk diffusion and the LB-agar method. SiNP-AgCC showed prolonged silver release for more than 20 days and improved antibacterial properties even after five days of incubation. 相似文献

A concise second-generation total synthesis of the fungal-derived alkaloid (+)-gliocladin C (11) in 10 steps and 11% overall yield from isatin is reported. In addition, the epipolythiodioxopiperazine (ETP) natural product (+)-gliocladine C (6) has been prepared in six steps and 29% yield from the di-(tert-butoxycarbonyl) precursor of 11.
