Abstract
A stereoscopic method of identifying story patterns in literary works is newly developed. The pattern is extracted from textual information by the detection of thematically assigned keywords, and depicted as visual imageries. The applicability of the method is demonstrated in several of Shakespeare’s plays. The complex scenario patterns in Shakespeare’s tragedies are successfully captured with applying the method for two different themes in each play. As the result, the organization of story accompanying multiple themes in a single play has been obtained as a pair of visual imageries, i.e. stereoscopic story visualization. This approach, in combination with a quadrant analysis of the plots, allows us in interpretation further complexity of human psychology in the characters and scene-by-scene transitions in each play. 相似文献12.
With the rapid advance in information technology, the applicability of computers has moved from the scientific field towards
simulating human intelligence. We are already familiar with using computers to produce music and art and for language translation.
A further use is in understanding traditional man-made products; best exemplified by literary works. In this study, we focus
on enabling a computer to visualize the meaning of stories. Four world-famous plays by William Shakespeare have been chosen
to demonstrate how the visualization scheme works in grasping the meaning of the stories. The scheme employs primitive keyword
detection and ellipsoidal differential equations to create a visual imagery of the story. This methodology ensures uniqueness
in the visualization of an individual work. In addition, color palettes obtained from pictures relevant to each story are

The reactions of aromatic compounds and elemental chalcogens catalyzed by a copper salt with molecular oxygen as an oxidant were carried out. The reaction of 3‐substituted imidazo[1,5‐a]pyridines and elemental sulfur in the presence of CuTC (copper(I) thiophenecarboxylate) gave the corresponding bisimidazopyridyl sulfides in good to quantitative yields. The reaction proceeded even under aerobic oxidation conditions. The use of a polar solvent was crucial for the reaction, and DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) in particular stimulated the reaction. The reaction could be applied to common aromatic compounds, such as N‐methyl indole and dialkyl anilines. The reaction of indole proceeded at the nucleophilic C3 position rather than at the acidic C2 position. In addition, the reaction of dialkyl anilines proceeded with an ortho, para orientation. The reactions of imidazopyridines and elemental selenium under similar conditions gave the corresponding bisimidazopyridyl diselenides along with bisimidazopyridyl monoselenides. The resulting diselenides were readily converted to the corresponding monoselenides with unreacted imidazopyridines under the same conditions. The reaction could be applied to the copolymerization of bifunctional bisimidazopyridines and elemental sulfur to give oligomeric copolymers in quantitative yield. 相似文献

Photooxidation (charge transfer) reactions of carbazole derivatives by maleic anhydride (MA) in alcoholic media are studied
by a time-resolved cw-ESR (TRESR) and Fourier transform ESR (FTESR) techniques. The CIDEP spectra observed in the systems
(methyl-, ethyl-, and phenyl-substituted carbazoles with MA) remarkably depend on the MA concentration. Under the high concentration
conditions, an emissive TM (triplet mechanism) polarization with a slight A/E (absorption/emission) pattern of the RPM (radical
pair mechanism) is observed. In the low concentration of MA, a TM-like absorptive polarization is superimposed on the A/E
pattern of the RPM. Since this reaction takes place exclusively through the triplet state, this spectral phase reveals that
the singlet state of the radical-ion pair (RIP) has an energy higher than that of the triplet state, in other words, the sign
of the apparent exchange interaction of the present RIP systems is positive. The total absorptive polarization observed in
the low concentration of MA is tentatively explained by the polarization transfer from the excited triplet state of carbazoles

Stable aliphatic bromonium ylides (RfSO2)2C--Br+C6H4-p-CF3 (Rf = CF3, CF3(CF2)3) have been synthesized and structurally characterized for the first time. X-ray crystallographic analyses indicated a ylide structure with an sp2 hybridization of the ylide carbanions and with little double-bond character for the ylidic bond. The bromonium ylides selectively undergo transfer of the aryl group to nitrogen heterocycles, such as pyridines, yielding N-arylpyridinium salts. The enantio-controlled synthesis of trans-4,5-benzhydrindan-1-ones was achieved by means of a stereoselective [4+2] cycloaddition of o-quinodimethanes generated by a thermal cleavage of benzocyclobutene derivatives as a key step. The chiral substrates of the thermal reaction were synthesized by a diastereoselective Grignard addition to the chiral O-isopropylideneglyceroketones connected to a benzocyclobutene ring, which were simply prepared from D-mannitol as a chiral source. A method for conducting enantioselective bromolactonization reactions of trisubstituted alkenoic acids, using the C(3)-symmetric trisimidazoline 1 and 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethyl hydantoin as a bromine source, has been developed. The process generates chiral δ-lactones that contain a quaternary carbon. The results of studies probing geometrically different olefins show that (Z)-olefins rather than (E)-olefins are favorable substrates for the process. The method is not only applicable to acyclic olefin reactants but can also be employed to transform cyclic trisubstituted olefins into chiral spirocyclic lactones. Finally, the synthetic utility of the newly developed process is demonstrated by its application to a concise synthesis of tanikolide, an antifungal marine natural product. 相似文献

Addition reactions of thioamide dianions that were derived from N‐arylmethyl thioamides to imines and aziridines were carried out. The reactions of imines gave the addition products of N‐thioacyl‐1,2‐diamines in a highly diastereoselective manner in good‐to‐excellent yields. The diastereomeric purity of these N‐thioacyl‐1,2‐diamines could be enriched by simple recrystallization. The reduction of N‐thioacyl‐1,2‐diamines with LiAlH4 gave their corresponding 1,2‐diamines in moderate‐to‐good yields with retention of their stereochemistry. The oxidative‐desulfurization/cyclization of an N‐thioacyl‐1,2‐diamine in CuCl2/O2 and I2/pyridine systems gave the cyclized product in moderate yield and the trans isomer was obtained as the sole product. On the other hand, a similar cyclization reaction with antiformin (aq. NaClO) as an oxidant gave the cis isomer as the major product. The reactions of N‐tosylaziridines gave the addition products of N‐thioacyl‐1,3‐diamines with low diastereoselectivity but high regioselectivity and in good‐to‐excellent yields. The use of AlMe3 as an additive improved the efficiency and regioselectivity of the reaction. The stereochemistry of the obtained products was determined by X‐ray diffraction. 相似文献
