Three amino acid-derived chiral surfactants, sodium N-[4-(n-dodecyloxy)benzoyl]-L-leucinate (SDBL), sodium N-[4-(n-dodecyloxy)benzoyl]-L-isoleucinate (SDBIL), and sodium N-[4-(n-dodecyloxy)benzoyl]-L-threoninate (SDBT), were synthesized, and their aggregation behavior was studied in aqueous solution. Surface tension, fluorescence probe, dynamic light scattering, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatography, circular dichroism, and optical as well as transmission electron microscopic techniques were utilized to characterize the self-assemblies formed by the amphiphiles. Results of these studies reveal that the surfactants have a very low critical aggregation concentration (cac) and they form spherical vesicles spontaneously in dilute aqueous solution. The mean diameters of the vesicles were measured to be in the range of 130-190 nm. 1H NMR spectra indicated hydrogen bonding between the amide groups near the surfactant headgroup, which is one of the driving forces for vesicle formation. The vesicle formation is more favored at a pH of about 7.0. The amphiphiles also form chiral helical aggregates at relatively higher concentrations as indicated by circular dichroism spectra. The stability of the vesicles was also evaluated with respect to the surfactant concentration, pH, temperature, and aging. The vesicles have a tendency to transform into elongated vesicles (closed tubules) or rodlike micelles with an increase of the surfactant concentration and/or pH. On the basis of the results obtained from different studies, phase diagrams for all three water/amphiphile systems have been constructed. The studies have further shown that the stereogenic center at the amino acid side chain has a significant effect on the aggregation properties of the amphiphiles and on the stability of the self-assemblies.  相似文献

We have reported herein the synthesis of three new Cu(II) complexes of tri- and tetradentate Schiff base ligands containing N3 or N4 donor set along with terminal NNN or SCN ligands: [L1Cu(NCS)]ClO4 (1), [L2Cu(NCS)2] (2) and [L3Cu(NNN)]ClO4 (3) [L1 = NC5H4C(CH3)=N(CH2)3N=C(CH3)C5H4N, L2= Me2N–(CH2)3–N=C(CH3)C5H4N and L3 = NC5H4CH=N–(CH2)4–N=CHC5H4N]. The complexes have been systematically characterised by elemental, spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been studied using the disc diffusion method on the strains of Candida tropicalis and Bacillus megaterium. Structures of all the complexes have been unequivocally established from single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses that show the monomeric units containing a five-coordinated copper center in highly distorted square pyramidal geometry with thiocyanate or azide anion coordinated as terminal ligand. The complexes 1 and 3 crystallise in monoclinic (P21/c) and 2 in triclinic (P-1) space group, respectively.  相似文献

Three isomeric zinc bisporphyrins have been prepared by covalently linking together two aminoporphyrins with an isophthalic acid derivative. The porphyrins differ in the substitution pattern on the meso phenyl groups, that is, ortho, meta, or para. Titrations carried out by UV-visible and 1H NMR spectroscopy have been used to map out the stabilities and the stoichiometries of the complexes formed with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) in chloroform. The ortho- and meta-substituted bisporphyrins form 1:1 intramolecular sandwich complexes. The para-substituted bisporphyrin cannot adopt the cofacial conformation required for this type of complex and forms a higher order 2:2 intermolecular assembly, which is stable over a wide range of DABCO concentrations.  相似文献

[{Mn(TPA)I}{UO2(Mesaldien)}{Mn(TPA)I}]I formula (here TPA=tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine and Mesaldien=N,N’-(2-aminomethyl)diethylenebis(salicylidene imine)) reported by Mazzanti and coworkers (Chatelain et al. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2014 , 53, 13434) is so far the best Single Molecule Magnet (SMM) in the {3d–5f} class of molecules exhibiting barrier height of magnetization reversal as high as 81.0 K. In this work, we have employed a combination of ab initio CAS and DFT methods to fully characterize this compound and to extract the relevant spin Hamiltonian parameters. We show that the signs of the magnetic coupling and of the g-factors of the monomers are interconnected. The central magnetic unit [UVO2]+ is described by a Kramers Doublet (KD) with negative g-factors, due to a large orbital contribution. The magnetic coupling for the {Mn(II)-U(V)} pair is modeled by an anisotropic exchange Hamiltonian: all components are ferromagnetic in terms of spin moments, the parallel component JZ twice larger as the perpendicular one J. The spin density distribution suggests that spin polarization on the U(V) center favors the ferromagnetic coupling. Further, the JZ/J ratio, which is related to the barrier height, was found to correlate to the corresponding spin contribution of the g-factors of the U(V) center. This correlation established for the first time offers a direct way to estimate this important ratio from the corresponding gS-values, which can be obtained using traditional ab initio packages and hence has a wider application to other {3d–5f} magnets. It is finally shown that the magnetization barrier height is tuned by the splitting of the [UVO2]+ 5 f orbitals.  相似文献

Phase transitions in molecular crystals are often determined by intermolecular interactions. The cage complex of [Co(C12H30N8)]3+ ⋅ 3 NO3 is reported to undergo a disorder-order phase transition at Tc1 ≈133 K upon cooling. Temperature-dependent neutron and synchrotron diffraction experiments revealed satellite reflections in addition to main reflections in the diffraction patterns below Tc1. The modulation wave vector varies as function of temperature and locks in at Tc3≈98 K. Here, we demonstrate that the crystal symmetry lowers from hexagonal to monoclinic in the incommensurately modulated phases in Tc1<T<Tc3. Distinctive levels of competitions: trade-off between longer N−H⋅⋅⋅O and shorter C−H⋅⋅⋅O hydrogen bonds; steric constraints to dense C−H⋅⋅⋅O bonds give rise to pronounced modulation of the basic structure. Severely frustrated crystal packing in the incommensurate phase is precursor to optimal balance of intermolecular interactions in the lock-in phase.  相似文献

Summary A rigorous analysis of the effect of various concentrations (0.02–1.60M) of ammonium acetate on the distribution coefficients (K) of a number of metal ions using cation exchanger Dowex 50W-X8 (100–200 mesh NH4 +-form) has been made. On account of the low affinity of U(VI) for resin in 0.20M NH4OAc it can be separated from all other metal ions. HighK values of Sr(II), Ba(II) and Hg(II) at higher 0.50M NH4OAc are responsible for their separation from others. The abnormal column Chromatographic behaviour of Al(III) permits its separation from other metal ions including U(VI), Sr(II), Ba(II), Hg(II). A number of binary and ternary separations have been achieved.  相似文献

Gamma radiolysis of oxygenated 1–10 mM azide solutions was carried out at various pH values. In oxygenated 10 mM azide solutions, H2O2 and NO 2 were observed as radiolytic products while NH3 was not. The concentration of H2O2 reached its maximum level at a dose of 1 kGy, whereas NO 2 yield increased non-linearly beyond 2 kGy in this system. Both in aerated and oxygenated systems, G(NO 2 ) and G(H2O2) were found to vary with N 3 concentration. The yield of NO 2 was found to be dependent on both dose rate and pH. On pulse radiolysis, NO 2 was found as a radiolytic product in aerated 1 mM azide solution at pH 6.8. In this system the intermediate generated exhibits absorbance around 250 nm. The overall results obtained during the present study reveal that in presence of both reducing radical (mainly e aq ) and oxygen, N 3 produced an intermediate possibly NH2O 2 radical, which is the prime source for NO 2 generation.  相似文献

Studies on photo-catalytic reduction of CO2 using TiO2 photo-catalyst (0.1%, w/v) as a suspension in water was carried out at 350 nm light. CO2 from both commercially available source, as well as generated in situ through 2-propanol oxidation, was used for this study. The photolytic products such as hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO) andmethane (CH4) generated were monitored in TiO2 suspended aqueous solution with and without a hole scavenger, viz., 2-propanol. Similar photolytic experiments were also carried out with varying ambient such as air, O2, N2 and N2O. The yields of CO and CH4 in all these systems under the present experimental conditions were found to be increasing with light exposure time. H2 yield in N2-purged systems containing 2-propanol was found to be more as compared to the without 2-propanol system. The rate of H2 production in N2-purged aqueous solutions containing 0.1% TiO2 suspension were evaluated to be 0.226 and 5.8 μl/h, without and with 0.5 M 2-propanol, respectively. This confirmed that 2-propanol was an efficient hole scavenger and it scavenged photo-generated holes (h+), allowing its counter ion, viz., e, to react with water molecule/H+ to yield more H2. The formation of both CO and CH4 in the photolysis of CO2-purged aqueous solutions containing suspended TiO2 in absence of 2-propanol reveal that the generation of CH4 is taking place mainly through CO intermediate. In presence of air/O2, the yield of H2 in the system without 2-propanol was observed to be negligible as compared to the system containing 2-propanol in which low yield of H2 was obtained with a formation rate of approx. 0.5 μl/h.  相似文献

The chemical reduction of CO_2 remains a challenge with respect to the reversal of the oxidative degradation of any organic materials.The conversion of CO_2 into useful substances is essential in developing al- ternative fuels and various raw materials for different in- dustries.This also aids in preventing the continuous rise in tropospheric temperature due to the green house effect of CO_2.In this article an overview of the growth taken place so far in the field of CO_2 chemical reduction is pre- sented.The discussion comprises of photochemical meth- ods for the development of different products,viz.CO, CH_3O_H and CH_4,through chemical reduction of CO_2.
