In this paper we construct the linear support vector machine (SVM) based on the nonlinear rescaling (NR) methodology (see
[Polyak in Math Program 54:177–222, 1992; Polyak in Math Program Ser A 92:197–235, 2002; Polyak and Teboulle in Math Program
76:265–284, 1997] and references therein). The formulation of the linear SVM based on the NR method leads to an algorithm
which reduces the number of support vectors without compromising the classification performance compared to the linear soft-margin
SVM formulation. The NR algorithm computes both the primal and the dual approximation at each step. The dual variables associated
with the given data-set provide important information about each data point and play the key role in selecting the set of
support vectors. Experimental results on ten benchmark classification problems show that the NR formulation is feasible. The
quality of discrimination, in most instances, is comparable to the linear soft-margin SVM while the number of support vectors

We investigate how to adapt the Q-Arnoldi method for the case of symmetric quadratic eigenvalue problems, that is, we are interested in computing a few eigenpairs \((\lambda ,x)\) of \((\lambda ^2M+\lambda C+K)x=0\) with M, C, K symmetric \(n\times n\) matrices. This problem has no particular structure, in the sense that eigenvalues can be complex or even defective. Still, symmetry of the matrices can be exploited to some extent. For this, we perform a symmetric linearization \(Ay=\lambda By\), where A, B are symmetric \(2n\times 2n\) matrices but the pair (A, B) is indefinite and hence standard Lanczos methods are not applicable. We implement a symmetric-indefinite Lanczos method and enrich it with a thick-restart technique. This method uses pseudo inner products induced by matrix B for the orthogonalization of vectors (indefinite Gram-Schmidt). The projected problem is also an indefinite matrix pair. The next step is to write a specialized, memory-efficient version that exploits the block structure of A and B, referring only to the original problem matrices M, C, K as in the Q-Arnoldi method. This results in what we have called the Q-Lanczos method. Furthermore, we define a stabilized variant analog of the TOAR method. We show results obtained with parallel implementations in SLEPc. 相似文献

We show that hole patterns and sponge-like layers at irradiated Ge surfaces originate from the same driving force, namely the kinetics of ion beam induced defects in the amorphous Ge surface layer. Ge hole patterns reported earlier for irradiation with low energy (5 keV) Ga+ ions were reproduced for low energy Bi+ but also for Ge+ self-irradiation, which proves that the dominating driving force for morphology evolution cannot originate from the implanted impurities. At higher ion energies the well-known formation of sponge-like Ge surface layers after heavy ion irradiation was found for Bi+ irradiation and Ge+ self-irradiation, also. The transition from smooth surfaces via hole patterns to sponge-like morphologies with increasing ion energies was studied in detail. A model based on the kinetics of ion beam induced defects was developed and implemented in 3D kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, which reproduce the transition from hole patterns to sponge-like layers with increasing ion energy. 相似文献

We continue our study of statistical maps (equivalently, fuzzy random variables in the sense of Gudder and Bugajski). In the realm of fuzzy probability theory, statistical maps describe the transportation of probability measures on one measurable space into probability measures on another measurable space. We show that for discrete probability spaces each statistical map can be represented via a special matrix the rows of which are probability functions related to conditional probabilities and the columns are related to fuzzy n-partitions of the domain. Discrete statistical maps sending a probability measure p to a probability measure q can be represented via conditional distributions and correspond to joint probabilities on the product. The composition of statistical maps provide a tool to describe and to study generalized random walks and Markov chains. 相似文献

Information switching and swapping seem to be fundamental elements of quantum communication protocols. Another crucial issue is the presence of entanglement and its level in inspected quantum systems. In this article, a formal definition of the operation of the swapping local quantum information and its existence proof, together with some elementary properties analysed through the prism of the concept of the entropy, are presented. As an example of the local information swapping usage, we demonstrate a certain realisation of the quantum switch. Entanglement levels, during the work of the switch, are calculated with the Negativity measure and a separability criterion based on the von Neumann entropy, spectral decomposition and Schmidt decomposition. Results of numerical experiments, during which the entanglement levels are estimated for systems under consideration with and without distortions, are presented. The noise is generated by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and the intrinsic decoherence is modelled by the Milburn equation. This work contains a switch realisation in a circuit form—built out of elementary quantum gates, and a scheme of the circuit which estimates levels of entanglement during the switch’s operating. 相似文献

By direct application of stress in molecular statics calculations we identify the stress components that affect the glide of 1/2?111? screw dislocations in bcc tungsten. These results prove that the hydrostatic stress and the normal stress parallel to the dislocation line do not play any role in the dislocation glide. Therefore, the Peierls stress of the dislocation cannot depend directly on the remaining two normal stresses that are perpendicular to the dislocation but, instead, on their combination that causes an equibiaxial tension-compression (and thus shear) in the plane perpendicular to the dislocation line. The Peierls stress of 1/2?111? screw dislocations then depends only on the orientation of the plane in which the shear stress parallel to the Burgers vector is applied and on the magnitude and orientation of the shear stress perpendicular to the slip direction. 相似文献

We study the nonlinear positive map of the density matrix of two-qubit Werner states, called the nonlinear channel. The map ρ → Φ(ρ) is realized by the rational function Φ. We discuss the influence of the map on the entanglement properties of the transformed density matrix. We investigate the violation of the Bell inequality (CHSH inequality) for the two-qubit state Φ(ρ). The nonlinear channels under discussion create the entangled state from a separable Werner state.
