The linear hull of a Tchebyshev system is called a Haar-space. A basis f1,...,fn of an n-dimensional Haar-space is called a Markov basis if f1,...,fi form a Tchebyshev system for each i=l,...,n. In this note we give examples of one-dimensional noetherian local integral domains with the property that the number of generators of the square of the maximal ideal is less than the embedding dimension. On the other hand we show that if \((R,m)\) is a local one-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay ring, then \((m^n )\) for all n such that μ \((m^n )\) < m(R). Here μ denotes the minimal number of generators of an ideal and m(R) the multiplicity of R. A similar statement was conjectured by D. Sally in [5], Our main result 2.1 generalizes Prop. 2.6. in [6].  相似文献

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a small enveloped retrotranscribing DNA virus and an important human pathogen. Its capsid-forming core protein (Cp) features a hydrophobic pocket proposed to be central notably in capsid envelopment. Indeed, mutations in and around this pocket can profoundly modulate, and even abolish, secretion of enveloped virions. We have recently shown that Triton X-100, a detergent used during Cp purification, binds to the hydrophobic pocket with micromolar affinity. We here performed pharmacomodulation of pocket binders through systematic modifications of the three distinct chemical moieties composing the Triton X-100 molecule. Using NMR and ITC, we found that the flat aromatic moiety is essential for binding, while the number of atoms of the aliphatic chain modulates binding affinity. The hydrophilic tail, in contrast, is highly tolerant to changes in both length and type. Our data provide essential information for designing a new class of HBV antivirals targeting capsid–envelope interactions.

Nuclear magnetic resonance of82Br oriented at low temperature in iron has been observed with a sample prepared by ion implantation atT<0.2 K. The asymmetric resonance signal can be decomposed in a broad background signal and a narrow line of FWHM=1.8 (4) MHz which can be attributed to82Br in undisturbed substitutional sites of Fe. From the center frequency of this narrow line (B ext=0)=201.86(13) MHz we derive the magnetic hyperfine field asB hf(BrFe)=81.38(6) T. This value is considerably larger than the result of theoretical calculations.  相似文献

The exciton-exciton interaction is investigated for spatially indirect excitons in coupled quantum wells. The Hartree-Fock and Heitler-London approaches are improved by a full two-exciton calculation including the van der Waals effect. Using these potentials for the singlet and triplet channel, the two-body scattering matrix is calculated and employed to derive a modified relation between exciton density and blue shift. Such a relation is of central importance for gauging exciton densities on the way toward Bose condensation.  相似文献
