We have performed molecular dynamics simulations of an intruder in a vibrated granular bed including interstitial fluid effects to account for the phenomenon of reverse buoyancy. We show that our model is able to reproduce the overall behaviour observed by previous experimental works and is the first finite-elements simulation to show the sinking of intruders lighter than the granular bed. To further advance our comprehension of this phenomenon, we studied the motion of the intruders in a single vibration cycle with respect to the bottom of the granular column, finding a substantial qualitative difference for heavy and light intruders and we compare these results with experiments using fine-sized glass beads. We show that, though heavy intruders seem unaffected by the force due to the fluid, the effect on light intruders is remarkable. 相似文献

By incorporating the holographic principle in a time-depending Λ-term cosmology, new physical bounds on the arbitrary parameters of the model can be obtained. Considering then the dark energy as a purely geometric entity, for which no equation of state has to be introduced, it is shown that the resulting range of allowed values for the parameters may explain both the coincidence problem and the universe accelerated expansion, without resorting to any kind of additional structures. 相似文献

This paper focuses on the study of existence and uniqueness of distributional and classical solutions to the Cauchy Boltzmann problem for the soft potential case assuming S n?1 integrability of the angular part of the collision kernel (Grad cut-off assumption). For this purpose we revisit the Kaniel–Shinbrot iteration technique to present an elementary proof of existence and uniqueness results that includes the large data near local Maxwellian regime with possibly infinite initial mass. We study the propagation of regularity using a recent estimate for the positive collision operator given in (Alonso et al. in Convolution inequalities for the Boltzmann collision operator. arXiv:0902.0507 [math.AP]) , by E. Carneiro and the authors, that allows us to show such propagation without additional conditions on the collision kernel. This study evaluated the color alteration of teeth subjected to the action of different bleaching agents and the influence of light sources commonly used in association with these products, In GI, the specimens remained immersed in artificial saliva. The specimens in GII were bleached with a 10% carbamide peroxide gel 4 hours/day during 3 weeks; the teeth in the other three groups were subjected to three sessions of three 10-min applications of 35% hydrogen peroxide gel at 7-day intervals. In GIII, no light was used, while in GIV and GV the gel was associated with a quartz-tungsten-halogen light and a LED/laser source, respectively. The teeth color was evaluated before and 7 days after the bleaching sessions by reflectance spectrophotometry. Data were analyzed statistically by ANOVA and Fisher’s test (α = 0.05), and showed that a significant color change was obtained in all treated groups. After the first week of treatment and at the end of it, the bleaching protocols showed similar results. The results of the present study indicate that association of a light source is not necessary to obtain the bleaching effect and that optimal bleaching can be achieved with all techniques tested. 相似文献

In this paper we studied the effects of Bi2O3 and PbO addition on BiFeO3 (BFO) ceramic matrix. The structural, dielectric and magnetic properties of fifteen BFO samples were discussed in view of possible applications in RF and microwave devices. The present work also reports the preparation of the samples. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were also added as a binder in the fabrication procedure. The samples have been studied by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and magnetic hysteresis measurements. Further, a study based on impedance spectroscopy also has been done. Dielectric permittivity (ε′) and dielectric loss (tan δ) were measured at room temperature in the frequency range 100 Hz-10 MHz, as well as a.c. conductivity. The -Im[Z(f)] versus Re[Z(f)] plot has been obtained. The samples were investigated in view of possible applications like miniaturized filters, diplexers and dielectric resonator antennas (DRA). In the RF and MW frequency region, the application of magneto-dielectric and multiferroic perovskite composite materials is desirable for the miniaturization of components. 相似文献

have similar performance for ethanol oxidation at room temperature, while the activity of PtRh/C electrocatalysts was very

We propose a picture of Wigner function scars as a sequence of concentric rings along a two-dimensional surface inside a periodic orbit. This is verified for a two-dimensional plane that contains a classical hyperbolic orbit of a Hamiltonian system with 2 degrees of freedom. The stationary wave functions are the familiar mixture of scarred and random waves, but the spectral average of the Wigner functions in part of the plane is nearly that of a harmonic oscillator and individual states are also remarkably regular. We have studied the mineral kaliborite. The sample originated from the Inder B deposit, Atyrau Province, Kazakhstan, and is part of the collection of the Geology Department of the Federal University of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The mineral is characterized by a single intense Raman band at 756 cm?1 assigned to the symmetric stretching modes of trigonal boron. Raman bands at 1229 and 1309 cm?1 are assigned to hydroxyl in-plane bending modes of boron hydroxyl units. Raman bands are resolved at 2929, 3041, 3133, 3172, 3202, 3245, 3336, 3398, and 3517 cm?1. These Raman bands are assigned to water stretching vibrations. A very intense sharp Raman band at 3597 cm?1 with a shoulder band at 3590 cm?1 is assigned to the stretching vibration of the hydroxyl units. The Raman data are complimented with infrared data and compared with the spectrum of kaliborite downloaded from the Arizona State University database. Differences are noted between the spectrum obtained in this work and that from the Arizona State University database. This research shows that minerals stored in a museum mineral collection age with time. Vibrational spectroscopy enhances our knowledge of the molecular structure of kaliborite. 相似文献
