The 7σ discrepancy between the proton rms charge radius from muonic hydrogen and the CODATA-2010 value from hydrogen spectroscopy and electron-scattering has caused considerable discussions. Here, we review the theory of the 2S–2P Lamb shift and 2S hyperfine splitting in muonic hydrogen combining the published contributions and theoretical approaches. The prediction of these quantities is necessary for the determination of both proton charge and Zemach radii from the two 2S–2P transition frequencies measured in muonic hydrogen; see Pohl et al. X‐ray exposure during crystallographic data collection can result in unintended redox changes in proteins containing functionally important redox centers. In order to directly monitor X‐ray‐derived redox changes in trapped oxidative half‐reaction intermediates of Paracoccus denitrificans methylamine dehydrogenase, a commercially available single‐crystal UV/Vis microspectrophotometer was installed on‐line at the BioCARS beamline 14‐BM‐C at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne, USA. Monitoring the redox state of the intermediates during X‐ray exposure permitted the creation of a general multi‐crystal data collection strategy to generate true structures of each redox intermediate. 相似文献

Specific heat and magnetization measurements demonstrate that the antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase transition at T N = 5.7 K of EuTiO3 is rapidly suppressed with Sr doping in Eu x Sr1?x TiO3. Close to x = 0.25, T N = 0 K and AFM order vanishes. Above this critical concentration a finite transition temperature to an AFM phase is observed. The exchange couplings are derived as a function of x and the corresponding low temperature phase diagram is presented. 相似文献

We analyze the analytic structure of the Covariant Spectator Theory (CST) contribution to the self-energy amplitude for a scalar particle in a ${\phi^2\chi}$ theory. To this end we derive dispersion relations in 1+1 and in 3+1 dimensional Minkowski space. The divergent loop integrals in 3+1 dimensions are regularized using dimensional regularization. We find that the CST dispersion relations exhibit, in addition to the usual right-hand branch cut, also a left-hand cut. The origin of this “spectator” left-hand cut can be understood in the context of scattering for a scalar ${\phi^2\chi^2}$ -type theory. If the interaction kernel contains a linear confining component, its contribution to the self-energy vanishes exactly. 相似文献

A study of the coherence and wavefront properties of a pseudo‐channel‐cut monochromator in comparison with a double‐crystal monochromator is presented. Using a double‐grating interferometer designed for the hard X‐ray regime, the complex coherence factor was measured and the wavefront distortions at the sample position were analyzed. A transverse coherence length was found in the vertical direction that was a factor of two larger for the channel‐cut monochromator owing to its higher mechanical stability. The wavefront distortions after different optical elements in the beam, such as monochromators and mirrors, were also quantified. This work is particularly relevant for coherent diffraction imaging experiments with synchrotron sources. 相似文献

In this paper we present a model for hysteretic nonlinearities with non-local memories. This model can be applied to describe
hysteretic material behavior. Common applications are ferromagnetic or ferroelectric materials. Our model consists of an analytic
function and a Preisach operator. We define a continuous Preisach weight function and introduce a method for the identification
of the model parameters. The model parameters are customized to a set of symmetric hysteresis curves. We verify our model
for a soft magnetic material, a hard magnetic material and the ferroelectric behavior of some piezoelectric material. After
that, non-symmetric curves like the virgin curve are predicted very well by the model. It is especially useful, if forced

In the present work, comprehensive experimental and numerical investigations on the effects of ultrasound frequency and acoustic power on sonoluminescence (SL) and H(2)O(2) yields have been carried out. The multibubble SL and H(2)O(2) yields have been examined for four frequencies (213, 355, 647 and 1056 kHz) and over a wide range of acoustic powers. We generate linearly polarized, 287 W average-power, 5.5 ps pulses using a cryogenically cooled Yb:YAG amplifier at a repetition rate of 78 MHz. An optical-to-optical efficiency of 41% is obtained at 700 W pump power. A 6 W, 0.4 nm bandwidth picosecond seed source at 1029 nm wavelength is constructed using a chirped-pulse fiber amplification chain based on chirped volume Bragg gratings. The combination of a fiber amplifier system and a cryogenically cooled Yb:YAG amplifier results in good spatial beam quality at large average power. Low nonlinear phase accumulation as small as 5.1 x 10(-3) rad in the bulk Yb:YAG amplifier supports power scalability to a > 10 kW level without being affected by self-phase modulation. This amplification system is well suited for pumping high-power high-repetition-rate optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifiers. 相似文献
