According to the basic principles of biomineralization, a homogeneous precipitation process involving BSA as the matrix was used to precipitate mixed Ca–Ba, Ca–Cd and Ca–Mn carbonate particles with distinct morphologies and structures at room temperature. The structures and morphologies of these carbonates were investigated using SEM and XRD. It was found that there were distinct differences when two different kinds of divalent metal ions were simultaneously precipitated in the reacting solutions. Moreover, according to the results of FT-IR and TG-DTA, we could conclude that bovine serum albumin also affected the diverse morphologies of Ca–M carbonates besides the influence of divalent metal ions. A self-assembly process coupled with an Ostwald ripening mechanism was also discussed based on a series of time-dependent SEM observations. 相似文献

SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and applied for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB). The phase structure, specific surface area, and surface morphologies of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were characterized through thermogravimetry (TG), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. XRD measurements indicated that doping of silica into TiO2 nanofibers can delay the phase transition from anatase to rutile and decrease the grain size. SEM and BET characterization proved that silica doping can remarkably enhance the porosity of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers. The MB adsorption capacity and photocatalytic activity of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were distinguished experimentally. It was found that, although increased silica doping content could enhance the MB adsorption capacity, the intrinsic photocatalytic activity gradually dropped. The SiO2 (10 %)/TiO2 composite nanofibers exhibited the highest MB degradation rate, being superior to SiO2 (20 %)/TiO2 or pure TiO2. 相似文献

The catalytic activity of dioxidobis{2-[(E)-p-tolyliminomethyl]phenolato}molybdenum(VI) complex was studied, for the first time, in the selective oxidation of various primary and secondary alcohols using tert-BuOOH as oxidant under organic solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The effect of different solvents was studied in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol in this catalytic system. It was found that, under organic solvent-free conditions, the catalyst oxidized various primary and secondary alcohols to their corresponding aldehyde or ketone derivatives with high yield. The effects of other parameters such as oxidant and amount of catalyst were also investigated. Among different oxidants such as H2O2, NaIO4, tert-BuOOH, and H2O2/urea, tert-BuOOH was selected as oxygen donor in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol. Also, it was found that oxidation of benzyl alcohol required 0.02 mmol catalyst for completion. Dioxomolybdenum(VI) Schiff base complex exhibited good catalytic activity in the oxidation of alcohols with tert-BuOOH under mild conditions. Charge separation plays a key role in the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy for use in the redox reaction and as well as in the photocatalytic activity. In this study, SrTiO3 particles with different morphologies including irregular, tetrahexahedron, and cube were synthesized by an in situ solvothermal method. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized nanoparticles was investigated in the photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue under UV light irradiation. Tetrahexahedron SrTiO3 particles exhibited high decomposition activity (70 %), which is about two times higher than those of the irregular and cubic SrTiO3 particles. The high decomposition activity of tetrahexahedron SrTiO3 particles could be attributed to the improvement of charge separation achieved on different crystal facets. To reach a good charge separation, tetrahexahedron SrTiO3/TiO2 coupled nanoparticles were fabricated by impregnation method. Results showed that coupling tetrahexahedron SrTiO3 with TiO2 could produce efficient charge separation between tetrahexahedron SrTiO3 and TiO2 due to their matched band edges. In order to achieve better charge separation, the tetrahexahedron SrTiO3/90 %TiO2 sample was calcined at different temperatures in the 450–750 °C range. Tetrahexahedron SrTiO3/90 %TiO2 coupled nanoparticles calcined at 650 °C show high photocatalytic activity compared with other samples. A novel, simple, and rapid detector using a fluorescent sensor array for discrimination and quantification of different concentrations (ppb level) of pesticides was proposed in this paper. Employing porphyrin, porphyrin derivatives, and chemically responsive dyes as the sensing elements, the developed sensor array based on a cross-responsive mechanism showed a unique pattern of fluorescence changes upon the reaction that lasted just 10 min. The eigenvalues from raw fluorescence spectra were analyzed via a pattern recognition algorithm, including hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), principal component analysis (PCA), and back-propagation neural network (BPNN). The results showed that HCA, which were used to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of discrimination of the fluorescent sensor array, revealed a distinct separation between different pesticides. PCA and BPNN were used for automatically predicting the concentration of pesticides, and the recovery was 91.29–109.81 % while the lowest relative standard deviation was up to 3.12 %. It indicates a detector based on the fluorescent sensor array is a rapid and feasible sensing platform for the discrimination and quantitative analysis of pesticides, and also shows the possibilities in the related fields of pesticides identification and detection. 相似文献

Degradation of Acid Orange 7 (AO7) as a model azo dye was investigated in a recirculating pilot fluidized-bed reactor by a Fenton-like process using natural magnetite (NM) and potassium persulfate (K2S2O8). Scanning electron microscopy was performed to characterize the magnetite sample. The heterogeneous Fenton-like process (NM/\({\text{S}}_{2} {\text{O}}_{8}^{2 - }\)) is a modified method owing to its enhanced mass transfer. It can be operated reliably and simply by reducing the produced iron oxide sludge in the conventional Fenton process. Degradation efficiency (DE %) of AO7 by NM/ \({\text{S}}_{2} {\text{O}}_{8}^{2 - }\) process was affected by operational parameters. The DE % of 75 % was obtained for the AO7 treatment (15 mg/L) at the desired conditions, such as pH 5, 0.2 mM \({\text{S}}_{2} {\text{O}}_{8}^{2 - }\), and 0.5 g/L NM after 120 min of reaction time. The dye degradation rate in all the experiments followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic with high correlation coefficients (R 2 ≥ 0.98). The low released iron concentration, successive reusability at milder pH and the recirculation mode with the proper mixing are the significant advantages of the NM/\({\text{S}}_{2} {\text{O}}_{8}^{2 - }\) process. 相似文献

Renewable energy is regarded as a clean energy source but has some problems, one of which is intermittency. To reduce this, the time-delay of hydrogen production by photosynthetic bacteria can be effective. In this study, we qualitatively evaluated the time-delay of hydrogen production by photosynthetic bacteria under various irradiation conditions, and we also quantitatively evaluated it by fitting the experimental data and the hydrogen production model with a genetic algorithm. As a result of model fitting, we found that the relationship between the lengths of the optimized time-delay of hydrogen production by photosynthetic bacteria and the amount of light irradiation is linear. And we also found that the time-delay of hydrogen production by photosynthetic bacteria had an upper limit under low light intensity. We have suggested the existence of an energy store mechanism in photosynthetic bacteria. 相似文献
