Special primitive pairs in finite groups

This note is concerned with a particular kind of primitive pairs in finite groups. Applications of the results that are proved here play a key role in the author’s work towards a new proof of Glauberman’s Z*-Theorem.     

Manifolds and graphs with slow heat kernel decay

We give upper estimates on the long time behavior of the heat kernel on non-compact Riemannian manifolds and infinite graphs, which only depend on a lower bound of the volume growth. We also show that these estimates are sharp. Oblatum 23-VIII-1999 & 21-XII-2000?Published online: 5 March 2001     

Nickel‐Catalyzed Amination of Aryl Chlorides with Ammonia or Ammonium Salts

The nickel‐catalyzed amination of aryl chlorides to form primary arylamines occurs with ammonia or ammonium sulfate and a well‐defined single‐component nickel(0) precatalyst containing a Josiphos ligand and an η²‐bound benzonitrile ligand. This system also catalyzes the coupling of aryl chlorides with gaseous amines in the form of their hydrochloride salts.
