We measure the dynamical arrest transition in a model, thermoreversible, adhesive hard sphere dispersion. At low volume fractions ?, below the critical point, gelation occurs within the gas-liquid phase boundary. For ? slightly below and above the critical concentration, the phase boundary follows the predicted percolation transition. At high ?, it melds into the predicted attractive-driven glass transition. Our results demonstrate that for ? above ~20% physical gelation is an extension of the attractive-driven glass line and occurs without competition for macroscopic phase separation.  相似文献

(La0.6Eu0.4)0.67Ca0.33MnO3 has been prepared in the shape of nanoplates of single crystallites (an orthorhombic structure) through polymer templates. HRTEM images reveal 18, 25, and 30 nm thicknesses of plates after heating a precursor powder at 873, 1073, and 1273 K in air for 2 h. These values present average crystallite size determined from broadening of the X-ray diffraction peaks. A spin-glass-like surface (GS) overlayer (3-5 nm thickness) in such plates facilitates a ferromagnetic→ferrimagnetic reordering with markedly suppressed Curie point TC, i.e., as small as 90 K in a 873 K heated sample, from the parent value 268 K. The TC point increases to 103 K (or 120 K) when heating at higher temperature 1073 (or 1273 K), during which the core grows at the expense of the overlayer. The GS tailors as high coercivity Hc as 617 Oe in the zero field cooled (ZFC) sample that is decreased to 500 Oe in the field cooled (FC) sample in the surface spin-freezing along the field direction. The Hc-value (ZFC) that steps down successively to 252 Oe on the overlayer is thinned down by heating at 1273 K. Samples heated at 873, 1073, or 1273 K have regularly increased saturation magnetization 35.3, 63.9, or 69.6 emu/g in ZFC, while 43.7, 70.2, or 75.5 emu/g in FC measured at 10 K. The ferrimagnetic reordering are described based on the scenario of an antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between the Eu3+ and Mn3+ (or Mn4+) sublattices.  相似文献

The LiNi3/5Fe2/5VO4 has been synthesized by solution-based chemical method. Grain morphology of the material is investigated using field emission scanning electron microscopy. The existence of electrical conduction due to bulk and grain boundary effects at 21, 75 and 250 °C, and grain boundary and polarization effects at 275 and 300 °C has been verified by impedance spectroscopy. DC conductivity shows electrical conduction in the material as a thermally activated process. The frequency dependence of AC conductivity is described by Jonscher's power law.  相似文献

The emission spectrum of VCl has been investigated at high resolution in the 3000-19 400 cm−1 region using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The bands were excited in a high temperature carbon tube furnace by the reaction of vanadium metal vapor and a trace of BCl3 as well as in a microwave discharge lamp by the reaction of VOCl3 vapor with active nitrogen. The spectra were recorded using the Fourier transform spectrometer associated with the McMath-Pierce telescope of the National Solar Observatory at Kitt Peak. The analysis of the system of VCl (previously labeled as ) has been extended by analyzing the rotational structure of some additional bands. A rotational analysis of the , , and subbands of the 0-2, 0-1, 0-0, and 1-0 bands, and the subband of the 0-1 and 0-0 bands has been obtained and molecular constants have been extracted. The subband was not identified in any of the assigned bands. The spectroscopic properties of the low-lying electronic states of VCl have been predicted by CASSCF/CMRCI ab initio calculations and the experimental assignments are supported by the ab initio results.  相似文献

We study a single-electron transistor (SET) based upon a II-VI semiconductor quantum dot doped with a single-Mn ion. We present evidence that this system behaves like a quantum nanomagnet whose total spin and magnetic anisotropy depend dramatically both on the number of carriers and their orbital nature. Thereby, the magnetic properties of the nanomagnet can be controlled electrically. Conversely, the electrical properties of this SET depend on the quantum state of the Mn spin, giving rise to spin-dependent charging energies and hysteresis in the Coulomb blockade oscillations of the linear conductance.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of VO2+ doped zinc potassium phosphate hexahydrate single crystal is carried out. The angular variation of the spectra is studied in the three crystallographic planes. The principal value of spin Hamiltonian parameters g and A and the direction cosines which principal axes make with the crystallographic axes are determined. The observed values are site I: g=1.9664±0.0002, g=1.9973±0.0002, A=150±2×10−4, A=60±2×10−4 cm−1; site II: g=1.9276±0.0002, g=1.9921±0.0002, A=155±2×10−4 and A=62±2×10−4 cm−1. By comparison of direction cosines of g from EPR with the direction cosines of different bonds obtained from crystal structure data it is ascertained that the VO2+ ion occupies Zn2+ substitutional sites. The optical absorption study of the crystal at room temperature is also carried out. The bands observed in the optical absorption spectrum are attributed to d-d transitions. The EPR results together with the optical data are employed to estimate the molecular orbital (MO) coefficients. These MO coefficients (also called bonding coefficients) are further used to discuss the nature of bonding of VO2+ ion with different ligands in the crystal.  相似文献

Background

A series of 2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-ylthio)-N-(substituted 4-oxothiazolidin-3-yl) acetamides was synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectral means. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger by tube dilution method. The in vitro cytotoxicity study of the compounds was carried out against human colorectal (HCT116) cell line. The most promising anticancer derivatives (5l, 5k, 5i and 5p) were further docked to study their binding efficacy to the active site of the cyclin-dependent kinase-8.

Results

All the compounds possessed significant antimicrobial activity with MIC in the range of 0.007 and 0.061 µM/ml. The cytotoxicity study revealed that almost all the derivatives were potent in inhibiting the growth of HCT116 cell line in comparison to the standard drug 5-fluorouracil. Compounds 5l and 5k (IC50 = 0.00005 and 0.00012 µM/ml, respectively) were highly cytotoxic towards HCT116 cell line in comparison to 5-fluorouracil (IC50 = 0.00615 µM/ml) taken as standard drug.

Conclusion

The molecular docking studies of potent anticancer compounds 5l, 5k, 5i and 5p showed their putative binding mode and significant interactions with cyclin-dependent kinase-8 as prospective agents for treating colon cancer.

The authors of Beziau and Franceschetto (New directions in paraconsistent logic, vol 152, Springer, New Delhi, 2015) work with logics that have the property of not satisfying any of the formulations of the principle of non contradiction, Béziau and Franceschetto also analyze, among the three-valued logics, which of these logics satisfy this property. They prove that there exist only four of such logics, but only two of them are worthwhile to study. The language of these logics does not consider implication as a connective. However, the enrichment of a language with an implication connective leads us to more interesting systems, therefore we look for one implication for these logics and we study further properties that the logics obtain when this connective is added to these systems.  相似文献

A literature survey reveals a prominent reduction in the concentration of Brønsted acid sites in hierarchically organized zeolites with increasing mesoporous or external surface area independent of the framework type or synthesis route; this suggests a common fundamental explanation. To determine the cause, nature, and impact of the underlying changes in aluminum speciation, this study combines a multitechnique analysis that integrates basic characterization, a detailed synchrotron XRD and multiple‐quantum NMR spectroscopy assessment, and catalytic tests to correlate evolution of the properties with performance during successive steps in the preparation of hierarchical MFI‐type zeolites by desilication. The findings, subsequently generalized to FAU‐ and BEA‐type materials, identify the crucial impact of calcination on the protonic form, which is an integral step in the synthesis and regeneration of zeolite catalysts; on aluminum coordination; and the associated acidity trends.  相似文献
