Accelerated non-linear finite volume method for diffusion

A non-linear finite volume method with monotone matrix for the diffusion equation is presented. It does not extrapolate the primary variable to Neumann boundaries, as this was previously done in similar methods. This change results in faster convergence. Computation time is significantly shortened further using the reduced rank extrapolation method (RRE), and imposing an upper limit on the number of linear iterations per non-linear step. Second-order accuracy and performance improvement are demonstrated by numerical examples.     

Relative polars in ordered sets

In the paper, the notion of relative polarity in ordered sets is introduced and the lattices of R-polars are studied. Connections between R-polars and prime ideals, especially in distributive sets, are found.     

On the equivalence of ball conditions for simplicial finite elements in Rd

We prove that the inscribed and circumscribed ball conditions, commonly used in finite element analysis, are equivalent in any dimension.     

Scale Invariant Boundary Harnack Principle at Infinity for Feller Processes

In this paper we prove a uniform and scale invariant boundary Harnack principle at infinity for a large class of purely discontinuous Feller processes in metric measurespaces.
