Through employment of deuterium-labeled substrates, the triflic acid catalyzed intramolecular exo addition of the X-H(D) (X=N, O) bond of a sulfonamide, alcohol, or carboxylic acid across the C=C bond of a pendant cyclohexene moiety was found to occur, in each case, with exclusive formation (≥90%) of the anti-addition product without loss or scrambling of deuterium as determined by (1)H and (2)H NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry analysis. Kinetic analysis of the triflic-acid-catalyzed intramolecular hydroamination of N-(2-cyclohex-2'-enyl-2,2-diphenylethyl)-p-toluenesulfonamide (1a) established the second-order rate law: rate=k(2)[HOTf][1a] and the activation parameters ΔH(++)=(9.7±0.5) kcal mol(-1) and ΔS(++)=(-35±5) cal K(-1) mol(-1). An inverse α-secondary kinetic isotope effect of k(D)/k(H) =(1.15±0.03) was observed upon deuteration of the C2' position of 1a, consistent with partial C-N bond formation in the highest energy transition state of catalytic hydroamination. The results of these studies were consistent with a mechanism for the intramolecular hydroamination of 1a involving concerted, intermolecular proton transfer from an N-protonated sulfonamide to the alkenyl C3' position of 1a coupled with intramolecular anti addition of the pendant sulfonamide nitrogen atom to the alkenyl C2' position. 相似文献

We report the synthesis and structural characterisation of a family of finite molecular chains, specifically [{[R(2)NH(2)](3)[Cr(6)F(11)(O(2)CCMe(3))(10)]}(2)] (in which R=nPr 1, Et 2, nBu 3), [{Et(2)NH}(2){[Et(2)NH(2)](3)[Cr(7)F(12)(O(2)CCMe(3))(12)][HO(2)CCMe(3)](2)}(2)] (4), [{[Me(2)NH(2)](3)[Cr(6)F(11)(O(2)CCMe(3))(10)]2.5 H(2)O}(4)] (5) and [{[iPr(2)NH(2)](3)[Cr(7)F(12)(O(2)CCMe(3))(12)]}(2)] (6). The structures all contain horseshoes of chromium centres, with each Cr...Cr contact within the horseshoe bridged by a fluoride and two pivalates. The horseshoes are linked through hydrogen bonds to the secondary ammonium cations in the structure, leading to di- and tetra-horseshoe structures. Through magnetic measurements and inelastic neutron scattering studies we have determined the exchange coupling constants in 1 and 6. In 1 it is possible to distinguish two exchange interactions, J(A)=-1.1 meV and J(B)=-1.4 meV; J(A) is the exchange interactions at the tips of the horseshoe and J(B) is the exchange within the body of the horseshoe (1 meV=8.066 cm(-1)). For 6 only one interaction was needed to model the data: J=-1.18 meV. The single-ion anisotropy parameters for Cr(III) were also derived for the two compounds as: for 1, D(Cr)=-0.028 meV and |E(Cr)|=0.005 meV; for 6, D(Cr)=-0.031 meV. Magnetic-field-dependent inelastic neutron scattering experiments on 1 allowed the Zeeman splitting of the first two excited states and level crossings to be observed. For the tetramer of horseshoes (5), quantum Monte Carlo calculations were used to fit the magnetic susceptibility behaviour, giving two exchange interactions within the horseshoe (-1.32 and -1.65 meV) and a weak inter-horseshoe coupling of +0.12 meV. Multi-frequency variable-temperature EPR studies on 1, 2 and 6 have also been performed, allowing further characterisation of the spin Hamiltonian parameters of these chains. 相似文献

Reactions of chlorine (Cl(2)) with 4-halo-1,1,2-trifluorobut-1-enes (1, 2, or 3) give open-ion intermediates A and E that are in equilibrium. The open-chloronium ions (E) rearrange to a five-membered-ring halonium ion during ionic chlorination of 3 when the number-4 halo-substituent is iodine. Three-membered-ring bromonium and iodonium ions from alkenes 1, 2, or 3 are rather symmetrical and similar in structure. Quantum chemical calculations show that five-membered-ring halonium ion intermediates are 11 to 27 kcal/mol more stable than the three-membered-ring halonium ions or the open-ions A and E. The five-membered-ring intermediates lead to rearranged products. Rearranged products increase as the number-4 halogen (Z) becomes more nucleophilic (Z: Cl < Br < I). Open chloronium ions from ionic chlorination of terminal fluorovinyl alkenes are compared to the open ions generated by protons to similar alkenes. 相似文献

We describe three new strategies for determining heterogeneous reaction rates using photomicroscopy to measure the rate of retreat of metal surfaces: (i) spheres in a stirred solution, (ii) microscopic powder in an unstirred solution, and (iii) spheres on a rotating shaft. The strategies are applied to indium-mediated allylation (IMA), which is a powerful tool for synthetic chemists because of its stereoselectivity, broad applicability, and high yields. The rate-limiting step of IMA, reaction of allyl halides at indium metal surfaces, is shown to be fast, with a minimum value of the heterogeneous rate constant of 1 × 10(-2) cm/s, an order of magnitude faster than the previously determined minimum value. The strategies described here can be applied to any reaction in which the surface is retreating or advancing, thereby broadening the applicability of photomicroscopy to measuring heterogeneous reaction kinetics. 相似文献

A combined experimental and computational investigation on the Ag‐catalysed decarboxylation of benzoic acids is reported herein. The present study demonstrates that a substituent at the ortho position exerts dual effects in the decarboxylation event. On one hand, ortho‐substituted benzoic acids are inherently destabilised starting materials compared to their meta‐ and para‐substituted counterparts. On the other hand, the presence of an ortho‐electron‐withdrawing group results in an additional stabilisation of the transition state. The combination of both effects results in an overall reduction of the activation energy barrier associated with the decarboxylation event. Furthermore, the Fujita–Nishioka linear free energy relationship model indicates that steric bulk of the substituent can also exert a negative effect by destabilising the transition state of decarboxylation. 相似文献

The use of picolinic acid amide derivatives as an effective family of bidentate ligands for copper‐catalysed aryl ether synthesis is reported. A fluorine‐substituted ligand gave good results in the synthesis of a wide range of aryl ethers. Even bulky phenols, known to be very challenging substrates, were shown to react with aryl iodides with excellent yields using these ligands. At the end of the reaction, the first examples of end‐of‐life Cu species were isolated and identified as CuII complexes with several of the anionic ligands tested. A preliminary mechanistic investigation is reported that suggests that the substituents on the ligands might have a crucial role in determining the redox properties of the metal centre and, consequently, its efficacy in the coupling process. An understanding of these effects is important for the development of new efficient and tunable ligands for copper‐based chemistry. 相似文献

Two series of activated carbons have been prepared from date pits; series C, using carbon dioxide as activating agent, and series S, prepared by activation with steam under the same experimental conditions. The obtained samples were oxidized with nitric acid in order to introduce more oxygen surface groups. The surface area and porosity of the parent and oxidized activated carbons were studied by N2 adsorption at 77 K and CO2 adsorption at 273 K. The oxygen surface complexes were characterized by temperature-programmed decomposition (TPD). The results show that carbon dioxide and steam activations produce microporous carbons with an increasing amount of CO evolving groups when increasing the burn-off. On the other hand, oxidation with nitric acid increases the amount of CO and CO2 evolved by the decomposition of surface oxygen groups, this increase being related to the development of porosity in the carbon with the degree of activation and to the activating agent used (CO2 versus steam). 相似文献

The interaction of the glycoalkaloid tomatine with monolayers of dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) and cholesterol, as well as other selected sterols, has been investigated using surface pressure measurements at constant area and Brewster angle microscopy (BAM). The interaction of tomatine with sterol monolayers is found to vary with the structure of the sterol. The interaction of tomatine with cholesterol-containing monolayers results in a surface pressure increase accompanied by the appearance of a mottled texture. Morphological changes are observed that suggest the formation of tomatine-cholesterol complexes that aggregate at the water-air interface. No morphology change observable by BAM is observed for monolayers containing epicholesterol, suggesting that the stereochemistry of hydrogen bonding between the sterol and the sugar units on tomatine is of particular significance. Strong interactions are observed with cholestanol- and coprostanol-containing monolayers, and BAM reveals formation of spiked aggregates upon interaction with 7:3 mole ratio DMPC/coprostanol mixed monolayers. More modest surface pressure changes are observed for cholestenone- and epicoprostanol-containing monolayers.
