This paper proposes a Rician noise reduction method for magnetic resonance (MR) images. The proposed method is based on adaptive non-local mean and guided image filtering techniques. In the first phase, a guidance image is obtained from the noisy image through an adaptive non-local mean filter. Sobel operators are applied to compute the strength of edges which is further used to control the spread of the kernel in non-local mean filtering. In the second phase, the noisy and the guidance images are provided to the guided image filter as input to restore the noise-free image. The improved performance of the proposed method is investigated using the simulated and real data sets of MR images. Its performance is also compared with the previously proposed state-of-the art methods. Comparative analysis demonstrates the superiority of the proposed scheme over the existing approaches.  相似文献

Chitosan-montmorillonite nanocomposites were prepared by an ion exchange reaction between water soluble oligomeric chitosan and a Na+-montmorillonite. The chitosan-montmorillonite nanocomposites were rapidly prepared within 1 h due to the high affinity between the chitosan and the montmorillonite clay host. The basal spacings of the composites were in a range of 14.5-19.6 Å depending on the mixing ratio of chitosan to clay. According to the thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and powder X-ray diffraction analysis the thermal stability of chitosan was remarkably improved in the interlayer space due to the strong electrostatic interaction of cationic chitosan molecules with anionic silicate layers. From the antimicrobial activity test it was found that the nanocomposites showed a synergistic effect in the antimicrobial activity against to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

We propose a model for macroautophagy and study the resulting dynamics of autophagy in a system isolated from its extra-cellular environment. It is found that the intracellular concentrations of autophagosomes and autolysosomes display oscillations with their own natural frequencies. Such oscillatory behaviors, which are interrelated to the dynamics of intracellular ATP, amino acids, and proteins, are consistent with the very recent biological observations. Implications of this theoretical study of autophagy are discussed, with regard to the possibility of guiding molecular studies of autophagy.  相似文献

The accurate three-dimensional (3D) velocity field measurement technique has been receiving large attention in the study of microfluidics. DHM-PTV technique was developed by combining the digital holographic microscopy and particle tracking velocimetry technique. DHM-PTV is an ideal method for measuring three-component-three-dimensional (3C-3D) velocity field in a microscale flow with a fairly good spatial resolution. The advances in the DHM-PTV technique enable the measurement of various microscale flows, such as transport of red blood cells in a microtube and 3D flows in microfluidic devices. DHM-PTV is also applied in studying the motile behavior of swimming microorganisms. DHM-PTV would play an important role in ascertaining the undiscovered basic physics in various microscale and biofluid flow phenomena. In the current study, the basic principle of the DHM-PTV technique and its typical applications to microscale flows are introduced and discussed.  相似文献

The present study was designed to show the applicability of scanning ion conductance microscopy (SICM) for imaging different types of biological samples. For this purpose, we first applied SICM to image collagen fibrils and showed the usefulness of the approach-retract scanning (ARS)/hopping mode for such samples with steep slopes. Comparison of SICM images with those obtained by AFM revealed that the ARS/hopping SICM mode can probe the surface topography of collagen fibrils and chromosomes at nanoscale resolution under liquid conditions. In addition, we successfully imaged cultured HeLa cells, with 15 μm in height by ARS/hopping SICM mode. Because SICM can obtain non-contact (or force-free) images, delicate cellular projections were visualized on the surface of the fixed cell. SICM imaging of live HeLa cells further demonstrated its applicability to study the morphological dynamics associated with biological processes on the time scale of minutes under liquid conditions. We further applied SICM for imaging the luminal surface of the trachea and succeeded in visualizing the surface of both ciliated and non-ciliated cells. These SICM images were comparable with those obtained by scanning electron microscopy. Although the dynamic mode of AFM provides better resolution than the ARS/hopping mode of SICM in some samples, only the latter can obtain contact-free images of samples with steep slopes, rendering it an important tool for observing live cells as well as unfixed or fixed soft samples with complicated shapes. Taken together, we demonstrate that SICM imaging, especially using an ARS/hopping mode, is a useful technique with unique capabilities for imaging the three-dimensional topography of a range of biological samples under physiologically relevant aqueous conditions.  相似文献

The polycaprolactone (PCL)/starch blends were prepared by using the starch‐g‐PCL (SGCL) graft copolymers as compatibilizers, and their mechanical properties were correlated with the compatibilizing effect of the SGCL copolymers having various molecular structures. The modulus and strength of the PCL/starch blend were decreased, whereas the percent elongation and the toughness were increased remarkably with the addition of SGCL having appropriate graft structure. These property changes were analyzed in terms of the PCL crystallinity and the interfacial adhesion between the PCL matrix and starch dispersion phases, which were dominated by the compatibilizing effects of the SGCL copolymers. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A seven‐step cascade reaction —in which selective mesylation, epoxide formation, epoxide lysis, cyclization, reiterative oxidation, and nitrogen–oxygen exchange occur sequentially—facilitates the construction of the maleic anhydride moiety of CP molecules 1 and 2 (>93% yield per step). Three polyacetylenes, one novel and two known, were isolated from the root of Angelica tenuissima. Using 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR, COSY, HMBC, and HMQC, their structures were found to be (3R,8S)‐heptadeca‐1‐en‐4,6‐diyne‐3,8‐diol ( 1 ), falcarindiol ( 2 ), and oplopandiol ( 3 ). Absolute configurations of compound 1 were established using Mosher's esterification. In addition, the polyacetylenes ( 1 – 3 ) were evaluated for their anti‐inflammatory activity. Compounds 1 and 3 showed potent inhibitory activity against lipopolysaccharide‐induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW267.7 macrophage cells with IC50 values of 4.31 and 5.06 μm, respectively. Compound 1 strongly inhibited inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)‐2 in a concentration‐dependent manner.  相似文献

The electrochemical redox behavior of nitric acid was studied using a glassy carbon fiber column electrode system, and its reaction mechanism was suggested and confirmed in several ways. Electrochemical reactions in less than 2.0M nitric acid was not observed. However, in more than 2.0M nitric acid, the reduction of nitric acid to nitrous acid occurred and the reduction rate was slow so that the nitric acid solution had to be in contact with an electrode for a period of time long enough for an apparent reduction current of nitric acid to nitrous acid to be observed. The nitrous acid generated in more than 2.0M nitric acid was rapidly and easily reduced to nitric oxide by an autocatalytic reaction. Sulfamic acid was confirmed to be effective to destroy the nitrous acid. At least 0.05M sulfamic acid was necessary to scavenge the nitrous acid generated in 3.5M nitric acid.  相似文献
