A bicirculant is a graph admitting an automorphism with exactly two vertex‐orbits of equal size. All non‐isomorphic 4‐valent edge‐transitive bicirculants are characterized in this article. As a corollary, a characterization of 4‐valent arc‐transitive dihedrants is obtained. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Graph Theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the inverse scattering problem of determining the shape of a cavity with a penetrable inhomogeneous medium of compact support from one source and a knowledge of measurements placed on a curve inside the cavity. First, the boundary value problem of the partial differential equations can be transformed into an equivalent system of nonlinear and ill-posed integral equations for the unknown boundary. Then, we apply the regularized Newton iterative method to reconstruct the boundary and prove the injectivity for the linearized system. Finally, we present some numerical examples to show the feasibility of our method.  相似文献

We demonstrated a novel optical switch to control the high-order harmonic generation process so that single attosecond pulses can be generated with multiple-cycle pulses. The technique combines two powerful optical gating methods: polarization gating and two-color gating. An extreme ultraviolet supercontinuum supporting 130 as was generated with neon gas using 9 fs laser pulses. We discovered a unique dependence of the harmonic spectra on the carrier-envelope phase of the laser fields, which repeats every 2 pi radians.  相似文献

While high resolution electron microscopy has been in use for many years, with steadily improving image resolution, most modern microscopes can provide complementary information on the chemical composition of very small volumes of material. This advance is very important and enormously extends the range of practical applications for the electron microscope. This review describes the basic principles and techniques of high resolution imaging and analysis, in both the conventional and scanning electron microscope, noting in each case the resolution that may be achieved.  相似文献

The hypothesis that high-Curie-temperature ferromagnetism in cobalt-doped ZnO (Co2+: ZnO) is mediated by charge carriers was tested by controlled introduction and removal of the shallow donor interstitial zinc. Using oriented epitaxial Co2+: ZnO films grown by chemical vapor deposition, kinetics measurements demonstrate a direct correlation between the oxidative quenching of ferromagnetism and the diffusion and oxidation of interstitial zinc. These results demonstrate controlled systematic variation of a key parameter involved in the ferromagnetism of Co2+: ZnO and, in the process, unambiguously reveal this ferromagnetism to be dependent upon charge carriers. The distinction between defect-bound and free carriers in Co2+: ZnO is discussed.  相似文献

It has long been recognized that galactic cosmic rays are of such high energy that they tend to pass through available shielding materials resulting in exposure of astronauts and equipment within space vehicles and habitats. Any protection provided by shielding materials result not so much from stopping such particles but by changing their physical character in interaction with shielding material nuclei forming, hopefully, less dangerous species. Clearly, the fidelity of the nuclear cross-sections is essential to correct specification of shield design and sensitivity to cross-section error is important in guiding experimental validation of cross-section models and database. We examine the Boltzmann transport equation which is used to calculate dose equivalent during solar minimum, with units (cSv/yr), associated with various depths of shielding materials. The dose equivalent is a weighted sum of contributions from neutrons, protons, light ions, medium ions and heavy ions using the ICRP-60 LET dependent quality factors. We investigate the sensitivity of dose equivalent calculations due to errors in nuclear fragmentation cross-sections. We do this error analysis for all possible projectile-fragment combinations (14,365 such combinations) to estimate the sensitivity of the shielding calculations to errors in the nuclear fragmentation cross-sections. Numerical differentiation with respect to the cross-sections will be evaluated in a broad class of materials including polyethylene, aluminum and copper. We will identify the most important cross-sections to ensure adequate experimental study and evaluate their impact on propagated errors in shielding estimates.  相似文献

Nash characterized the only bargaining solution to satisfy a well-known list of axioms. Independence of Irrelevant Alternatives states invariance of the solution outcome under certain contractions of the bargaining problem. A dual of this axiom is proposed here, stating invariance under certainexpansions of the bargaining problem andNash's solution is characerized by substituting this axiom for IIA in Nash's original list. After a transposition from the domain of bargaining solutions to the domain of choice rules, and a weakening of Invariance with respect to Positive Affine Transformations toTranslation Invariance, this new list of axioms is shown to characterizeUtilitarian rules.  相似文献
