Production and analysis of non-Gaussian radiation fields has evinced a lot of attention recently. Simplest way of generating such non-Gaussians is through adding (subtracting) photons to Gaussian fields. Interestingly, when photons are added to classical Gaussian fields, the resulting states exhibit non-classicality. Two important classical Gaussian radiation fields are coherent and thermal states. Here, we study the non-classical features of such states when photons are added to them. Non-classicality of these states shows up in the negativity of the Wigner function. We also work out the entanglement potential, a recently proposed measure of non-classicality for these states. Our analysis reveals that photon added coherent states are non-classical for all seed beam intensities; their non-classicality increases with the addition of more number of photons. Thermal state exhibits non-classicality at all temperatures, when a photon is added; lower the temperature, higher is their non-classicality.  相似文献

Monogamy of quantum correlation measures puts restrictions on the sharability of quantum correlations in multiparty quantum states. Multiparty quantum states can satisfy or violate monogamy relations with respect to given quantum correlations. We show that all multiparty quantum states can be made monogamous with respect to all measures. More precisely, given any quantum correlation measure that is non-monogamic for a multiparty quantum state, it is always possible to find a monotonically increasing function of the measure that is monogamous for the same state. The statement holds for all quantum states, whether pure or mixed, in all finite dimensions and for an arbitrary number of parties. The monotonically increasing function of the quantum correlation measure satisfies all the properties that are expected for quantum correlations to follow. We illustrate the concepts by considering a thermodynamic measure of quantum correlation, called the quantum work deficit.  相似文献

Spectral characteristics of sudan I (SDI), sudan II (SDII) and mordant violet-5 (MV5) have been studied in various solvents and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). The inclusion complex of the above molecules with β-CD was analyzed by UV-visible, fluorometry, and DFT methods. The solvent study shows that azo-hydrazo tautomer is present in these molecules. The increase in the fluorescence intensity and a large bathochromic shift in the S1 state indicate these molecules forms 1:1 inclusion complex with β-CD.  相似文献

Review of non-reactive and reactive wetting of liquids on surfaces   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
Wettability is a tendency for a liquid to spread on a solid substrate and is generally measured in terms of the angle (contact angle) between the tangent drawn at the triple point between the three phases (solid, liquid and vapour) and the substrate surface. A liquid spreading on a substrate with no reaction/absorption of the liquid by substrate material is known as non-reactive or inert wetting whereas the wetting process influenced by reaction between the spreading liquid and substrate material is known as reactive wetting. Young's equation gives the equilibrium contact angle in terms of interfacial tensions existing at the three-phase interface. The derivation of Young's equation is made under the assumptions of spreading of non-reactive liquid on an ideal (physically and chemically inert, smooth, homogeneous and rigid) solid, a condition that is rarely met in practical situations. Nevertheless Young's equation is the most fundamental starting point for understanding of the complex field of wetting. Reliable and reproducible measurements of contact angle from the experiments are important in order to analyze the wetting behaviour. Various methods have been developed over the years to evaluate wettability of a solid by a liquid. Among these, sessile drop and wetting balance techniques are versatile, popular and provide reliable data. Wetting is affected by large number of factors including liquid properties, substrate properties and system conditions. The effect of these factors on wettability is discussed. Thermodynamic treatment of wetting in inert systems is simple and based on free energy minimization where as that in reactive systems is quite complex. Surface energetics has to be considered while determining the driving force for spreading. Similar is the case of spreading kinetics. Inert systems follow definite flow pattern and in most cases a single function is sufficient to describe the whole kinetics. Theoretical models successfully describe the spreading in inert systems. However, it is difficult to determine the exact mechanism that controls the kinetics since reactive wetting is affected by a number of factors like interfacial reactions, diffusion of constituents, dissolution of the substrate, etc. The quantification of the effect of these interrelated factors on wettability would be useful to build a predictive model of wetting kinetics for reactive systems.  相似文献

Experiments were carried out using a strong acid cation exchange resin with a particle size of 75–150 μm, termed as “fine resin” in hydrogen ion form for the elution of individual lanthanides Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, and Dy that are produced as fission products in the spent nuclear fuel and generated in the effluent during reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel. Batch experiments were carried out to study the effect of concentration of nitric acid on distribution coefficient. The distribution coefficient values for these individual lanthanides were determined in nitric acid medium in the concentration range of 0.01–4.0 N. Uptake of each individual lanthanide by resin was increased with increased nitric acid concentration from 0.01 to 0.5 N and remained similar from 0.5 to 1.0 N and decreased thereafter up to 4.0 N. Column experiments were also carried out using the same resin to study the parameters like pH of the eluent, flow rate, and resin bed height under isocratic elution conditions for eluting lanthanide elements using α‐hydroxyisobutyric acid as eluent. The results of this study have indicated the possibility for the elution of individual lanthanides.  相似文献

A number of beta-d-glycosyl azide derivatives undergo reduction on treatment with tetrathiomolybdate to produce the corresponding beta-d-glycosylamines exclusively without anomerization under very mild and neutral reaction conditions. Acetyl, allyl, benzoyl, and benzyl protective groups are left untouched under the reaction conditions. An exclusive selectivity in the reduction of anomeric azides is observed, while the C-2 and C-6 azides are left untouched.  相似文献

A brute-force numerical investigation has been carried out on the hopping of excitons in a three-dimensional molecular aggregate. Possibilities of vibronic decay, rapid chemical reactions of saturated species, radiative decay of overpopulated molecules, and cooperative chemical reactions involving saturated exciton populations on traps of two different types have been considered. Investigation have been performed with two types of initial distribution of excitons—facial and random—and for 10,000 or, sometimes, for 20,000 time steps each of duration 1ps. Several interesting observations have been made from this computer experiment: (1) The total number of occurrences of fast reactions depends upon the initial distribution of excitons. (2) It decreases if other exciton depleting processes are at work. (3) It also depends on the pattern of placement of traps. (4) The location of impurities also affects the rate of occurrence of these reactions. Thus, more reactions occur when the excitons are initially concentrated on one face and traps are suitably located on the path of flow of these excitons. A random initial distribution tends to equilibrate the excitons quickly over all the lattice points, thus giving rise to fewer reactions. (5) The number of reactions need not necessarily increase with the number of reaction centers; in fact, it decreases as more centers are added when the supply of excitons is severely limited. (6) A Complicated dynamics results when different types of additional processes, viz., enhanced fluorescence, radiative emissions, and cooperative chemical reactions are simultaneously allowed. The cooperative process has been clearly found to dominate. A first-order rate constant of about 108 s-1 has been calculated for the occurrence of the cooperative process. This rate is affected when other nonconserving processes are switched on. Observations (1), (4), and (5) are the most important conclusions of our work. They lie outside the scope of traditional models such as the random walk model, the diffusion model, and the lattice model for the migration of excitons in a molecular aggregate. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Spectrophotometric investigations have been carried out on the disproportionation of Np(V) to form Np(IV) and Np(VI) in 1.1 mol⋅L−1 solutions of tributyl phosphate (TBP) and in N,N-dihexyl octanamide (DHOA) in n-dodecane medium. The Np(V) was found to coordinate with Np(IV) in 1.1 mol⋅L−1 TBP solution in n-dodecane to form a mixed valence “cation–cation” complex by bonding through an axial oxo group on Np(V). By contrast, this interaction was less prominent in the case of 1.1 mol⋅L−1 DHOA solutions. The effect of 1-octanol, added as phase modifier, on the disproportionation behavior of Np(V) was also investigated. An attempt was made to calculate the disproportionation/reduction rate constants for Np(V) under the conditions of these studies. Absorbance measurements on the Np stripped from organic phases revealed the occurrence of Np(V) in the aqueous phase.  相似文献

The linear viscoelastic behavior in dynamic shear and tensile creep at temperatures from −30 to 70 °C is measured for an styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR) elastomer cured with dicumyl peroxide to crosslinking densities between 0 and 23.5 × 10−5 mol/cm3. The G′, G″, and tan δ isotherms are analyzed by time–temperature superposition (TTS), where the tan δ master curves are consistent with those of Mancke and Ferry. However, to achieve the TTS in the lightly crosslinked SBR systems, an anomalous vertical shift is required in the narrow temperature region from 10 to 30 °C. The vertical shift factor in this temperature region is not the standard from rubber elasticity. No anomalous behavior is detected in the equilibrium modulus, which is a linear function of temperature in accordance with the classical theory of rubber elasticity. In contrast to SBR, standard vertical shifts are required to effect TTS for uncrosslinked polybutadiene and an ethylene propylene diene monomer elastomer. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
