Analysis of dispersive carrier transport based on numerical solution of multiple-trapping equations

A numerical packet has been developed to solve multiple-trapping equations with an exponential trap distribution without any restrictions on the dispersion parameter, which can be both smaller and greater than unity. Attention has been focused on current transients recorded upon the near-surface, as well as bulk, excitation of the polymer in the small-signal mode. The results have been compared with published data. The program has been used for a critical review of published experimental results obtained by the time-of-flight technique.     

Temperature dependence of the mobility of charge carriers during dispersive transport

The numerical solution of equations in terms of the multiple-trapping model with an exponential energy distribution of traps is used as a basis for the analysis of the temperature dependence of the mobility of charge carriers estimated from the results of time-of-flight experiments for near-surface (classical case) and uniform irradiation of polymer samples in the weak-signal regime.     

Reaction of dioxides derived from organosilicon thiocarbamides with ammonia and methylamine

Reactions of organosilicon thiocarbamide dioxides {[R₃Si(CH₂)₃NH]₂CSO₂, R = Et (I), O_1.5 (II)} with methylamine and ammonia were studied. The reaction of compound I with ammonia involves, along with the substitution of the NHC(SO₂)NH fragment by a guanidine residue, Si-C bond cleavage to form an oligomer comprising [O(Et)Si(CH₂)₃NH]₂C=NH and [O_1.5Si(CH₂)₃NH]₂C=NH elementary units. The reactions of compound II with methylamine and ammonia resulted in the synthesis of organosilicon polymers containing guanidine groups. These polymers exhibit a high sorption capacity toward Ag(I).     

Structurable superalgebras of Cartan type

We describe the simple Lie superalgebras arising from the unital structurable superalgebras of characteristic 0 and construct four series of the unital simple structurable superalgebras of Cartan type. We give a classification of simple structurable superalgebras of Cartan type over an algebraically closed field F of characteristic 0. Together with the Faulkner theorem on the classification of classical such superalgebras, it gives a classification of the simple structurable superalgebras over F.     

Bistable and multistable states in ferroelectric liquid crystals

The effect of memorizing the structural states in a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC), known as biand multistability, is based on the existence of a domain structure that changes its properties under the action of an applied voltage. The criterion for the bistability steadiness of the optical-transmission states of FLC electrooptic cells is developed. This criterion is related to the hysteresis-loop parameters of the FLC layer. The conditions for the existence and steadiness of the hysteresis-free switching of the memorized optical-transmission states of multistable electrooptic cells are formulated.     

Thermodynamic characteristics of hydrocarbon and chloroalkane adsorption by polymethylsilsesquioxane

Adsorption of n-alkanes (C₇H₁₆–C₁₁H₂₄), cyclohexane, benzene, CHCl₃, CCl₄, and ClCH₂CH₂Cl by polymethylsilsesquioxane [MeSi(OH)_0.4O_1.3] _n was investigated by inverse gas chromatography in the Henry region. The adsorption isotherms are linear for all adsorbates. The standard changes in the thermodynamic parameters of adsorption were determined. The absence of specific selectivity with respect to aliphatic, cyclic, or aromatic hydrocarbons or chloroalkanes indicates that the adsorbent is chemically homogeneous.     

Simple Filippov superalgebras of type B(m, n)

This account is a first step toward a classification of finite-dimensional simple Filippov superalgebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. Here, n-ary Filippov superalgebras with nonzero even and odd parts are treated for the case n ⩾ 3. Methods for Calculating Steady-State Electric Fields in Irradiated Dielectrics

Theoretical problems related to the calculation of steady-state (or quasi-steady-state) electric fields in irradiated dielectrics for three basic irradiation modes are considered. Numerical calculations on the spatial distribution of electric fields in a model dielectric were performed for some of the most typical irradiation conditions. The results obtained are compared with relevant published data.
