A study of systems containing the title moiety is described, with special reference to the anomeric effect. We have calculated ab initio, using Gaussian-80 with the 3-21G basis set, all basic conformations of methylene-diamine (H2N? CH2? NH2) and its N-methyl derivative with full geometry optimization of energy minima and barriers. The structural data thus obtained, were then employed to parameterize Allinger's MM2-80 force field in a procedure similar to that described for oxygen derivatives, including hydrogen-bonding effects and C? N bond shortening in tertiary amines. This modification, termed MM2-AE was then used to calculate larger molecules, including N,N′-di- and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-methylenediamine, various 1,3-diazane systems, and 1,4,5,8-tetraazadecalin derivatives of established (x-ray) structures. The results are discussed in light of their verificative and predictive power and appear to validate MM2-AE as a useful computational procedure. 相似文献

Combined electrochemical and dilatometry measurements were used to characterize the transport of hydrogen through thin RuO2 layers coated on palladium wire electrodes. Hydrogen dissolved in aqueous solutions penetrated through the oxide in a pH-dependent mechanism that combined diffusion of molecular hydrogen and pH-dependent proton hopping through redox sites within the oxide lattice. . In this work we discuss some relevant complexity and algorithmic issues. First, using Tarski's theory on solvability over real closed fields we argue that there is an infinite scheme to solve the problem, where the rate of convergence is equal to the rate of the best method to locate a real algebraic root of a one-dimensional polynomial. Secondly, we exhibit an explicit solution to the strong separation problem associated with the Fermat-Weber model. A modification of Allinger's MM2 force field for the anomeric effect in O? C? N systems is presented. For optimal consistency, it was parameterized by alternate use of ab initio (3-21G level) and X-ray results to account for the energetic and structural manifestations of the effect in the gas or condensed phase, respectively. The results obtained with the modified force field are in good agreement with those from both theoretical and experimental methods. The parameterization scheme explicitly treats all structural parameters of the C? O? C? N? C moiety as well as C? N bond lengths in tertiary amines contained within an anomeric unit. Previously, we demonstrated a large format 1024 × 1024 corrugated quantum well infrared photodetector focal plane array (C-QWIP FPA). The FPA has a cutoff at 8.6 μm and is BLIP at 76 K with f/1.8 optics. The pixel had a shallow trapezoidal geometry that simplified processing but limited the quantum efficiency QE. In this paper, we will present two approaches to achieve a larger QE for the C-QWIPs. The first approach increases the size of the corrugations for more active volume and adopts a nearly triangular pixel geometry for larger light reflecting surfaces. With these improvements, QE is predicted to be about 35% for a pair of inclined sidewalls, which is more than twice the previous value. The second approach is to use Fabry–Perot resonant oscillations inside the corrugated cavities to enhance the vertical electric field strength. With this approach, a larger QE of 50% can be achieved within certain spectral regions without using either very thick active layers or anti-reflection coatings. The former approach has been adopted to produce two FPAs, and the preliminary experimental results will be discussed. In this paper, we also describe using voltage tunable detector materials to achieve multi-color capability for these FPAs. 相似文献

A novel method of rubber waste recycling is presented. Shredded rubber is processed into a biomimetic superhydrophobic material demonstrating high apparent contact angles (APCAs).
