The cosmic microwave background (CMB) represents a unique source for the study of gravitational lensing. It is extended across
the entire sky, partially polarized, located at the extreme distance of z = 1,100, and is thought to have the simple, underlying statistics of a Gaussian random field. Here we review the weak lensing
of the CMB, highlighting the aspects which differentiate it from the weak lensing of other sources, such as galaxies. We discuss
the statistics of the lensing deflection field which remaps the CMB, and the corresponding effect on the power spectra. We
then focus on methods for reconstructing the lensing deflections, describing efficient quadratic maximum-likelihood estimators

FAH domain containing protein 1 (FAHD1) acts as oxaloacetate decarboxylase in mitochondria, contributing to the regulation of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Guided by a high-resolution X-ray structure of FAHD1 liganded by oxalate, the enzymatic mechanism of substrate processing is analyzed in detail. Taking the chemical features of the FAHD1 substrate oxaloacetate into account, the potential inhibitor structures are deduced. The synthesis of drug-like scaffolds afforded first-generation FAHD1-inhibitors with activities in the low micromolar IC50 range. The investigations disclosed structures competing with the substrate for binding to the metal cofactor, as well as scaffolds, which may have a novel binding mode to FAHD1. 相似文献

The authors investigate limit-cycle oscillations of a wing/store configuration. Unlike typical aeroelastic studies that are based upon a linearized form of the governing equations, herein full system nonlinearities are retained, and include transonic flow effects, coupled responses from the structure, and store-related kinematics and dynamics. Unsteady aerodynamic loads are modeled with the equations from transonic small disturbance theory. The structural dynamics for the cantilevered wing are modeled by the nonlinear equations of motion for a beam. The effects of general store-placement are modeled by the nonlinear equations of motion related to the position-induced nonlinear kinematics. Chordwise deformations of the wing surface, as well as pylon and store flexibility, are assumed negligible. Nonlinear responses are studied by examining bifurcation and related response characteristics using direct simulation. Particular attention is given to cases for which large-time, time-dependent behavior is dependent on initial conditions, as observed for some configurations in flight test. Comparisons of results in which selective nonlinearities are excluded indicate that the accurate prediction of nonlinear responses such as limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) may depend upon consideration of all nonlinearities related to the full system. 相似文献

In recent years there has been an increasing interest in the control of boundary-layer transition through the use of wall suction. In the current work suction is provided through one or more suction panels situated close to the leading edge of a plate. Experiments show that boundary-layer pressure fluctuation measurements can be used to identify the position of transition. Transition can be maintained at a desired location with minimum power consumption by employing an automatic adaptive feedback control loop which regulates the suction flow rates of two independent suction panels. This can be expressed as a constrained optimization problem. To allow the suction flow rates to be updated, a modified least mean squares algorithm is used within the control loop. Experimental measurements show that the control algorithm allows fast and stable convergence towards the optimum suction distribution for a double suction panel configuration. Numerical simulations have also been performed. The two-dimensional boundary layer was calculated allowing the viscous boundary layer to interact with the inviscid outer flow. Following linear stability theory the spatial growth rates are calculated by solving an Orr-Sommerfeld type eigenvalue problem, with the streamwise location of transition predicted via thee
N -method. Applying the same optimization strategy as in the experiments, good qualitative agreement between computations and experiments was found. The optimization algorithm has been applied to computer models where the relation between suction flow rates and transition location is described by an empirical analytical function. This shows that the controller can in principle be applied to systems with more than two suction panels.Nomenclature
