The antiradical activity, protective effect against lipid peroxidation of liposomal membrane, and inhibitory effect on whole blood reactive oxygen species (ROS) liberation of Glycyrrhiza glabra crude extract and glycyrrhizin, its major compound, were assessed. The liquorice extract showed significant activity in all the three assay systems used in a dose dependent manner. It displayed remarkable reactivity with free stable 1,1'-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical, inhibitory efficacy in peroxidatively damaged unilamellar dioleoyl phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) liposomes, and inhibition of ROS chemiluminescence, generated by whole blood, induced by both receptor-bypassing stimuli (PMA) and receptor operating stimuli (Opz) in the ranking order of stimuli PMA> Opz. These activities may be attributed to phenolic antioxidants involving isoflavan derivatives, coumarins and chalcones. Nonetheless, triterpene saponin glycyrrhizin exhibited no efficacy in the system of DPPH reaction and peroxidation of liposomal membrane, and negligible inhibition of chemiluminescence generated by inflammatory cells. These results indicate that the mechanism of anti-inflammatory effect of glycyrrhizin most probably does not involve ROS and this major constituent is not responsible for the inhibition effects of liquorice extract on neutrophil functions. 相似文献

We present a mechanistic study on the interaction of water with a well‐defined model Fe3O4(111) surface that was investigated by a combination of direct calorimetric measurements of adsorption energies, infrared vibrational spectroscopy, and calculations bases on density functional theory (DFT). We show that the adsorption energy of water (101 kJ mol−1) is considerably higher than all previously reported values obtained by indirect desorption‐based methods. By employing 18O‐labeled water molecules and an Fe3O4 substrate, we proved that the generally accepted simple model of water dissociation to form two individual OH groups per water molecule is not correct. DFT calculations suggest formation of a dimer, which consists of one water molecule dissociated into two OH groups and another non‐dissociated water molecule creating a thermodynamically very stable dimer‐like complex. 相似文献

The structural relaxation of three compositional series of PbO–WO3–P2O5 glasses with composition (0.5 ? x/2)PbO·xWO3·(0.5 ? x/2)P2O5, x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5; 0.5PbO·xWO3·(0.5 ? x)P2O5, x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3; and (0.5 ? x)PbO·xWO3·0.5P2O5, x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 was studied by thermomechanical analysis. The structural relaxation was studied in the transformation region using the Tool–Narayanaswamy–Moynihan’s and Tool–Narayanaswamy–Mazurin’s models. The relaxation function of Kohlrausch Williams and Watts was used. The parameters of both models were calculated by nonlinear regression analysis of thermodilatometric curves measured by thermomechanical analyzer under the constant load. Both models very well describe the experimental data. It was found that the modulus is increasing with increasing amount of WO3 in all glasses. On the contrary, the width of the spectrum of relaxation times is decreasing with increasing amount of WO3 in all studied glasses. Both models possess the values of metastable melt thermal expansion coefficient equal to their experimental value. 相似文献

Eight hydrochlorides of 3-{2-[(2/4-fluorophenoxy)-ethylamino]}-2-hydroxypropyl-4-alkoxybenzoates and four hydrochlorides of 3-tert-butylamino-2-hydroxypropyl-4-butoxybenzoates were prepared as potential antagonists of the β1-adrenergic receptor (beta-blockers). A multistep synthesis of these compounds is described as well as their detailed analytical characterization. The pharmacokinetic properties of these weak base compounds are significantly influenced by their acid-base dissociation constant, pK a. The knowledge of this value is crucial for new drug development. This paper is aimed at developing a methodology that utilizes pH-dependent 1H NMR spectroscopy for its routine analysis. The selected predicted physico-chemical parameters of the new (arylcarbonyloxy)aminopropanols (i.e., aryloxyaminopropanol derivatives) were compared with the model drugs esmolol and flestolol. 相似文献

We propose a new type of Gaussian basis sets for use in calculations of electron scattering by molecules. Instead of locating the basis-set functions on the atomic centers of the target molecule, we place primitive s-type Gaussians at the positions of a cubic lattice with a regular grid. The grid and the Gaussian exponent are fixed so as to give the best representation of the plane-wave function. Plane-wave functions and Green functions obtained by means of the cubic-grid basis set are tested graphically against exact functions and functions expressed by means of a conventional Gaussian basis set. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Four-channel flow-through electrochemical cell working in thin-layer regime was designed, fabricated and characterized experimentally and in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The new principle of operation allows reproducible splitting of a stream of liquid into multiple flow channels. Systems comprising of 2-, 3-, 4- and 8-channels were tested. The proper function of the cell is given by the ratio of the cross-sections of the fluidic element collecting chamber and the particular flow paths among which the liquid is distributed. Suitable flow rates providing uniform liquid distribution were evaluated and the results were compared to CFD modeling. The flow-through cells designed according to the proposed principle can be simply incorporated in automated routine analysis as only one inlet and one common outlet are required. 相似文献

The potential catalytic activity of selected C,N‐chelated organotin(IV) compounds (e.g. halides and trifluoroacetates) for derivatization of both dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and diethyl carbonate (DEC) was investigated. Some tri‐, di‐ and monoorganotin(IV) species (LCN(n‐Bu)2SnCl (1), LCN(n‐Bu)2SnCl.HCl (1a), LCN(n‐Bu)2SnI (2), LCNPh2SnCl (3), LCNPh2SnI (4), LCN(n‐Bu)SnCl2 (5), LCNSnBr3 (6) and [LCNSn(OC(O)CF3)]2(μ‐O)(μ‐OC(O)CF3)2 (7)) bearing the LCN moiety (LCN = 2‐(N,N‐dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl‐) were assessed as catalysts for reactions of both DMC and DEC with various substituted anilines. The catalytic activities of 4 and 7 for derivatization of DMC with p‐substituted phenols were studied for comparison with the standard base K2CO3/Silcarbon K835 catalyst (catalyst 8). The composition of resulting reaction mixtures was monitored by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, GC and GC‐MS techniques. In general, catalysts 1, 3 and 7 exhibited the highest catalytic activity for all reactions studied, while some of them yielded selectively carbonates, carbamates, lactam or substituted urea.
