An approach to triquinane synthesis using the Pauson-Khand reaction

Tricyclic skeletons have been generated from acyclic enyne precursors by using an intramolecular Pauson-Khand reaction in combination with aldol, Michael and alkylation reactions.     

Cleaving functors and controlled wild algebras

We show that the cleaving functors introduced in [Bautista et al., Invent. Math. 81 (1985) 217] as a tool for proving infinite representation type of finite-dimensional algebras can also be used to establish controlled wildness. The main application is that an algebra is controlled wild if there is an indecomposable projective module with a Loewy factor having a homogeneous direct summand which is of length at least 3. As a second application we derive Han's covering criterion.

Suppose there exists a global solution u to the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations, such that $\text{u∈}\text{C}{}_{\mathrm{t}}\text{(}\text{H}\text{?}{}^{\mathrm{1/2}}\text{)}$. We prove that its $\text{H}\text{?}{}^{\mathrm{1/2}}$ norm goes to 0 at infinity. We next use this fact to control the $\text{L}{}^2{}_{\mathrm{t}}\text{(}\text{H}\text{?}{}^{\mathrm{3/2}}\text{)}$ norm of u, and finally we prove that such a solution is stable. Laguerre expansion on the Heisenberg group and Fourier-Bessel transform on C~n Dedicated to Professor Sheng GONG on the occasion of his 75th birthday

Given a principal value convolution on the Heisenberg group Hn = Cn×R, we study the relation between its Laguerre expansion and the Fourier-Bessel expansion of its limit on Cn. We also calculate the Dirichlet kernel for the Laguerre expansion on the group Hn.     

Enclosure results for second-order relative spectra by elementary means

Motivated by the general approach due to Shargorodsky we derive enclosure results for the second-order relative spectrum of bounded selfadjoint operators by studying quadratic operator pencils. The quality of the results is discussed by means of a simple example.
