In general, petrochemical products contain only a limited number of chemical classes of compounds (sample dimensionality). The enormous number of individual components within these classes, however, soon puts limitations upon a single chromatographic technique when it comes to adequate characterization of these products. Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) clearly opens the possibility of estimating the composition of hydrocarbon mixtures in a far more detailed fashion than hitherto possible. Although the emphasis of papers of GCxGC thus far almost exclusively applies to the unsurpassed peak-capacity, in the oil industry there is a need for characterization, rather than for analyzing all the individual compounds. In principle a GCxGC system can provide an almost perfect match between its intrinsic properties and the dimensionality of oil samples. To establish the applicability of GCxGC towards petrochemical analytical challenges, a commercially aavailable prototype instrument was subjected to an exhaustive characterization of a typical hydrocarbon precess stream and a fast characterization of a light gas oil. Although there are no fundamental limitations towards the quantitative aspects of a GCxGC system, this paper confines itself to qualitative results only. The thermal expansion of VN1?x was determined from measurements of the lattice parameters in the temperature range of 298–1000 K and in the composition range of VN0.707–VN0.996. Within the accuracy of the results the expansion of the lattice parameter with temperature is not dependent on the composition. The lattice parameter as a function of composition ([N]/[V]=0.707?0.996) and temperature (298–1000 K) is given by $$\begin{gathered} a([N]/[V],T) = 0.38872 + 0.02488([N]/[V]) - \hfill \\ - (1.083 \pm 0.021) \cdot 10^{ - 4} T^{1/2} + (6.2 \pm 0.1) \cdot 10^{ - 6} T. \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ . The coefficient of linear thermal expansion as a function of temperature (in the same range) is given by $$\alpha (T) = a([N]/[V],T)^{ - 1} [( - 5.04 \pm 0.01) \cdot 10^5 T^{ - 1/2} + (6.2 \pm 0.1) \cdot 10^{ - 6} ].$$ . The average linear thermal expansion coefficient is $$\alpha _{av} = 9.70 \pm 0.15 \cdot 10^{ - 6} K^{ - 1} (298 - 1 000K).$$ . The mechanism for signal transduction from the LOV-domains toward the kinase region of phototropin is still not well understood. We have performed molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and CONCOORD calculations on the LOV2 domain of Adiantum capillus-veneris, with the goal to detect possible differences between the two forms of the LOV domain which may not show up in the static crystal structures. Since no such clear differences are found in the MD simulations also, we suggest that the real, biologically active conformation of the LOV domain within the whole phototropin is different from the crystal structure of the isolated LOV domains. The MD simulations do offer, however, insight into details of the dynamics of the dark and illuminated LOV domains, which are discussed in the light of recent experiments. 相似文献

Coleons C, D, I, I′, obtained from a Madagascan Plectranthus sp. nov.. Interconversion of cis- and trans-A/B-6,7-Diketoditerpenes. Fairly large amounts of Coleons C and D, as well as Coleons I and I′ (3-O-formyl derivative of Coleon I) can bc isolated from the orange glands of an unclassified North Madagascan Plectranthus sp. A reversible transformation of cis- and trans-A/B-6,7-dioxo-abietane via its diosphenol has been achieved for the first time. CD.-Spectra of these compounds are presented. A miniaturised technique to analyse and detect heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAs) using micro solid-phase extraction (SPE) coupled on-line (in-capillary) to capillary electrophoresis (CE) separation with nanospray (nESI) mass spectrometry (MS) detection has been developed. HAs are mutagenic and carcinogenic compounds formed at low levels in protein-rich food during cooking. Due to the low concentrations of HAs and the high complexity of the matrix in which they exist, sensitive and selective analytical methods are required for quantification. SPE was performed on a packed bed of C18 particles inside the CE capillary, which minimised the dead volume. The on-line coupling of SPE, CE and nESI-MS reduced the time for extraction and identification to less than half an hour, which will allow for screening of several samples per day. The new technique provides short analysis time, low sample and solvent consumption, and HAs in standard solutions were easily detected at 12–17 fmol injections, and in spiked urine samples at 750–810 fmol injections. 相似文献

In this work, a high repetition rate laser matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) source is studied on a quadrupole-time-of-flight (QqTOF) and a triple quadrupole (QqQ) mass spectrometer for rapid quantification of small pharmaceutical drugs. The high repetition rate laser allows an up to 100-fold higher pulse frequency as compared with regular MALDI lasers, resulting in much larger sample throughput and number of accumulated spectra. This increases the reproducibility of signal intensities considerably, with average values being around 5% relative standard deviation after taking into account the area ratio of the analyte to an internal standard. Experiments were conducted in MS/MS mode to circumvent the large chemical background due to MALDI matrix ions in the low mass range. The dynamic range of calibration curves on the QqTOF mass spectrometer extended over at least two orders of magnitude, whereas on the QqQ it extended over at least three orders of magnitude. Detection limits ranged from 60-400 pg/microL on the QqTOF and from 6-70 pg/microL on the QqQ for a series of benzodiazepines. The benzodiazepine content of commercial pill formulations was quantified, and less than 5% error was obtained between the present method and the manufacturer's certified values. Furthermore, a high sample throughput was achieved with this method, so that a single MALDI spot could be quantitatively scanned in as little as 15 s, and an entire 96-well MALDI plate in 24 min. 相似文献

An electrospray ionization (ESI) ambient pressure ion-mobility spectrometer (APIMS) interfaced to an orthogonal reflector time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOFMS) was evaluated for the first time as a detector for the identification of phenylthiohydantoin (PTH)-derivatized amino acids, the final products in the Edman sequencing process of peptides and proteins. The drift and flight times of the twenty common PTH amino acids were characterized by a well-defined 2-D mobility/mass spectral pattern. The combination of mobility/mass modes of analysis gave rise to a unique trend-line formation for the series of PTH amino acids. In addition, each PTH amino acid had a unique reduced mobility constant K(o), thus enabling the differentiation of all the amino acid derivatives including the PTH-leucine and PTH-isoleucine isomers. More importantly it was shown that it was possible to resolve a complete reference mixture of PTH amino acids in a single experimental run in less than 1 min. Detection limits for the PTH amino acids were found to range from 1.04 to 3.52 ng; indicating that the limits of detection were less than 17.0 pmol for all of the PTH amino acids. 相似文献

Hydrozirconation of alkynes with zirconocene hydrochloride followed by in situ transmetalation to dimethylzinc provides access to reactive alkenyl organometallic reagents from readily available precursors. Upon addition of imines, 1,2-attack leads to synthetically useful allylic amine building blocks. In the presence of CH(2)I(2) or CH(2)Cl(2), the N-metalated allylic amide intermediate is cyclopropanated and C-cyclopropylalkylamines are formed in high yield and excellent diastereoselectivities favoring the anti products. The use of enynes as starting materials for this domino reaction provides conjugated biscyclopropanes and thus allows the stereoselective formation of five new carbon-carbon bonds. A transition state that explains the need for both zirconocene complex and alkyl zinc in the cyclopropanation reaction is proposed. 相似文献
