As a method of regularization, point splitting has played an essential role in the recent theoretical determination of the masses of the Higgs boson and the top quark. It is the purpose of this paper to put this pointsplitting regularization on a firm basis. The result turns out to be extremely simple: replace the usual vertex factor-ieγ µ in quantum electrodynamics by $$ - ie(\gamma _\mu - \frac{{\not p}}{{p \cdot \delta }}\delta _\mu ),$$ wherep is the momentum of the photon line, andδ µ is the distance for point splitting. The resonant Raman scattering of C60 crystallites is monitored as a function of excitation intensity at 514.5 nm. At low intensities, a strong line at 1468 cm–1 is observed. No feature at 1459 cm–1 is observable. With increasing intensities, the 1468 cm–1 line shifts continuously and reversibly to lower frequencies. The mode softening is nonlinearly dependent on the input intensity and is accompanied by a nonlinear increase in the Raman intensity. The spectral changes are discussed in terms of a nonlinear reduction in force constant and increase in bond polarisability as a result of an increased intermolecular delocalisation of the -electron cloud. The nonlinear changes are associated with the nonlinear luminescence and photoconductive response observed in fullerenes and are contrasted to the irreversible phototransformation recently discussed.  相似文献

A method for semi-automatic background estimation in energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectra is outlined. Two cubic splines were investigated and the spline called the Butland interpolant was chosen for further investigation. Prior to the calculation of the spline, peak regions are set up, and suitable knots are defined outside the peak regions. To set up the peak regions, an automatic peak-search routine and a calibration equation are used. For a given peak, the latter relates the full width at half maximum (FWHM) to the peak centre. In turn, the size of the peak regions are defined by the FWHM multiplied by a constant given by the user. The method was tested on several types of spectra. It was found that the optimal size of the peak region decreased with increasing peak density. Reproducibility tests showed that the standard deviation of the summation of counts within a peak region and after background subtraction was less than would be expected from the counting statistics.  相似文献

The fragmentations of two α,β-unsaturated γ-dilactones in a mass spectrometer are studied. The main feature is conecutive carbon monoxide expulsions. Strong indication of ejection of a fragment C2O2 is presented, however. Masses were determined by the high resolution rechnique and metastable transitions were detected by defocusing. Corresponding deuterated dilactones were also studied to verify the fragmentation mechanism.  相似文献

Monterine 1 as well as granjine 3, 1R,1'S configured biphenylic bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids, generate two highly populated conformers. The interconversion of two forms was detected by saturation tranfer in (1)H NMR NOEs experiments. Tridimensional structure of the conformers was determined on the basis of (1)H NMR analysis of anisotropic shielding protons, by NOEs measurements and vicinal proton coupling constants of CH1-CH(2)alpha and CH1'-CH(2)alpha'. The structures established from NMR data were further refined to observe the mobility of 3D conformations by molecular dynamics simulation in vacuo. The highly populated conformers, monterine 1a and 1b, as well as granjine 3a and 3b, are interconvertible by rotation about the C1'-Calpha', Calpha'-C9', and C11'-C11 bonds and inversion of the benzyl D ring by reference to CH(2)alpha'. The slow exchange system was investigated by dynamic NMR spectroscopy: DeltaG()(c) 77.9 KJ/mol and k(c) 200 s(-)(1) for monterine 1; DeltaG()(c) 77.7 KJ/mol and k(c) 211 s(-)(1) for granjine 3. Natural and synthetic biphenylic bisbenzylisoquinolines displayed, in vitro, cytotoxic activities against human prostate and breast cancer cell lines.  相似文献

Oxidative damage to plasmenyl-type lipids contributes to decreased membrane barrier function, loss of membrane structure and formation of nonlamellar defects in membrane bilayers. Previous results from this laboratory have shown that membrane-soluble sensitizers (e.g. zinc phthalocyanine and bacteriochlorophyll a) mediate the photooxidation of palmitoyl plasmenylcholine (1-O-alk-1'-Z-enyl-2-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine; PPlsC) vesicles with the subsequent creation of lamellar defect structures, vesicle contents leakage and membrane-membrane fusion. Because plasmalogen lipids are significant components of sarcoplasma and myelin membranes, we sought to characterize the products of their photooxidation. This study focuses on the photooxidation of PPlsC vesicles in the presence of the water-soluble sensitizer, aluminum phthalocyanine tetrasulfonate (AlPcS4(4-)). Attack of photogenerated singlet oxygen on the 1-O-alkenyl ether linkage of PPlsC lipids was expected to generate dioxetane- and ene-type photoproducts. The products formed during continuous aerobic irradiation (28 mW/cm2, (610 nm) of PPlsC vesicles in the presence of AlPcS4(4-) were separated via reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with electrochemical detection (ECD) or evaporative light-scattering detection (ELSD). Photooxidized dipalmitoyl-phosphatidylcholine-cholesterol vesicles (control) were used to optimize the HPLC-ECD conditions, using 7 alpha-hydroperoxy-cholesterol as standard. HPLC-ECD was found to be most sensitive for PPlsC hydroperoxides, whereas HPLC-ELSD was more sensitive for nonhydroperoxide photoproducts. The three major photoproducts formed during vesicle irradiation were isolated via preparative HPLC and then characterized by 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. 1-Formyl-2-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 1-hydroxy-2-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine were identified as dioxetane cleavage products that coeluted at approximately 3 min. The second fraction (retention time [RT] = 48 min) was identified as a PPlsC allylic hydroperoxide. The third photoproduct, eluting at RT = 64 min, is tentatively identified as an oxidation product arising from allylic hydroperoxide degradation via Hock rearrangement or free radical decomposition.  相似文献
