We present an experimental NMR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and computational study of the supramolecular assemblies of two crystalline forms of Ciprofloxacin: one anhydrate and one hydrate forming water wormholes. The resonance assignment of up to 51 and 54 distinct (13)C and (1)H resonances for the hydrate is reported. The effect of crystal packing, identified by XRD, on the (1)H and (13)C chemical shifts including weak interionic H-bonds, is quantified; (1)H chemical shift changes up to ~-3.5 ppm for CH···π contacts and ~+2 ppm (CH···O((-))); ~+4.7 ppm (((+))NH···O((-))) for H-bonds. Water intake induces chemical shift changes up to 2 and 5 ppm for (1)H and (13)C nuclei, respectively. Such chemical shifts are found to be sensitive detectors of hydration/dehydration in highly insoluble hydrates.  相似文献

We provide empirical evidence to support the claims that social diversity promotes prosocial behavior. We elicit a real-life social network and its members’ adherence to a social norm, namely inequity aversion. The data reveal a positive relationship between subjects’ prosociality and several measures of centrality. This result is in line with the theoretical literature that relates the evolution of social norms to the structure of social interactions and argues that central individuals are crucial for the emergence of prosocial behavior.  相似文献

Conventionally, chemical patterns of gunshot residues (GSR) can be used for identification of a suspect involved in criminal fire arm incidents. Furthermore, metals composition in GSR is well related with the ammunition brand. In Chile the two main ammunition brands used are FAMAE and CBC. Metals, such as Pb, Ba, Sb, Cu, Zn and Ca are common elements detected in both brands. This work describes the application of both conventional and chemometric analysis of data (Regularized Discriminant Analysis, RDA) for differentiation of ammunition brands according to the metal patterns of GSR collected from shooter individuals. Real samples of GSR were collected from hands (dorsal region) of both shooters and non-shooters. Metals were analyzed using the techniques Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). By means of conventional plotting techniques for differentiation, such as binary and ternary plots, differences between the two brands are observed although without quantitative certainty. For the first time, applying chemometric analysis, such as regularized discriminant analysis (RDA), the investigated ammunition brands can be classified and differentiated correctly with 100% certainty.  相似文献

Chemical systems, in particular those involving biological and environmental backgrounds, develop through selective processes which are determined by multiple equilibria. Several methods that have been developed to assess thermodynamic selectivity in binding equilibria, including the analysis of selectivity coefficients, the use of calculated species distribution diagrams, selectivity diagrams, and conditional stability constants, are reviewed in this paper with reference to examples mainly related to chemical systems of biological and/or environmental concern. Also the concept of binding affinity has been dealt with, since binding selectivity in equilibrium systems relates to the different affinities with which chemical species bind to each other.  相似文献

The reaction of [MoO(2)Cl(2)(di-tBu-bipy)] (1) (di-tBu-bipy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine) with water at 100-120 °C in a Teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave, in an open reflux system, or in a microwave synthesis system gave the octanuclear complex [Mo(8)O(22)(OH)(4)(di-tBu-bipy)(4)] (2) as a microcrystalline powder in good yields. Single crystals of 2 suitable for X-ray diffraction were obtained by the reaction of MoO(3) and di-tBu-bipy in water at 160 °C for 3 days. The molecular structure of 2 comprises a purely inorganic core, Mo(4)O(8)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(μ(2)-O)(2), attached to two peripheral oxo-bridged binuclear units, Mo(2)O(4)(μ(2)-O)(2)(OH)(di-tBu-bipy)(2). The inorganic core is composed of a unique assembly of four {MoO(5)} distorted square pyramids connected to each other via edge-sharing. Overall, the octanuclear complex adopts a highly distorted form strongly resembling an "S"-shaped molecular unit. Complex 2 was applied in the catalytic epoxidation of the biorenewable olefins DL-limonene (Lim) and methyl oleate (Ole), using tert-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) as an oxygen donor, under mild reaction conditions (55 °C, air). The reactions of Lim and Ole gave the respective epoxide monomers in fairly high selectivities at high conversions (89% 1,2-epoxy-p-menth-8-ene selectivity at 96% Lim conversion; 99% methyl 9,10-epoxystearate selectivity at 94% Ole conversion, reached within 24 h reaction). Iodometric titrations revealed no measurable "non-productive" decomposition of TBHP.  相似文献

A promising group of inorganic salts recently emerged for the negative electrode of advanced lithium-ion batteries. Manganese carbonate combines low weight and significant lithium storage properties. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and magnetic measurements are used to study the environment of manganese ions during cycling in lithium test cells. To observe reversible lithium storage into manganese carbonate, preparation by a reverse micelles method is used. The resulting nanostructuration favors a capacitive lithium storage mechanism in manganese carbonate with good rate performance. Partial substitution of cobalt by manganese improves cycling efficiency at high rates.  相似文献

 In the present contribution we report a study of the weakly bound van der Waals N2–He molecule in the framework of the supermolecule approach by means of the PWPW and mPW1PW exchange–correlation functionals, using density functional theory local-spin-optimized atom-centered basis sets complemented with bond functions optimized at the mPW1PW level of theory. Calculations show that the mPW1PW functional using bond functions gives a realistic representation of the interaction-energy potentials for this van der Waals dimer, comparable to reference M?ller–Plesset perturbation theory calculations. In contrast, the PWPW functional is unable to describe the bonding properties of this system and all values of the bonding properties obtained at different geometries with this functional are considered out-of-scale compared with the rest of the calculations presented in this study. Childhood obesity has reached epidemic levels and is a serious health concern associated with metabolic syndrome, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and gut microbiota alterations. Physical exercise is known to counteract obesity progression and modulate the gut microbiota composition. This study aims to determine the effect of a 12-week strength and endurance combined training program on gut microbiota and inflammation in obese pediatric patients. Thirty-nine obese children were assigned randomly to the control or training group. Anthropometric and biochemical parameters, muscular strength, and inflammatory signaling pathways in mononuclear cells were evaluated. Bacterial composition and functionality were determined by massive sequencing and metabolomic analysis. Exercise reduced plasma glucose levels and increased dynamic strength in the upper and lower extremities compared with the obese control group. Metagenomic analysis revealed a bacterial composition associated with obesity, showing changes at the phylum, class, and genus levels. Exercise counteracted this profile, significantly reducing the Proteobacteria phylum and Gammaproteobacteria class. Moreover, physical activity tended to increase some genera, such as Blautia, Dialister, and Roseburia, leading to a microbiota profile similar to that of healthy children. Metabolomic analysis revealed changes in short-chain fatty acids, branched-chain amino acids, and several sugars in response to exercise, in correlation with a specific microbiota profile. Finally, the training protocol significantly inhibited the activation of the obesity-associated NLRP3 signaling pathway. Our data suggest the existence of an obesity-related deleterious microbiota profile that is positively modified by physical activity intervention. Exercise training could be considered an efficient nonpharmacological therapy, reducing inflammatory signaling pathways induced by obesity in children via microbiota modulation.Subject terms: High-throughput screening, DNA metabolism  相似文献
