We report a sample treatment technique which increases by a factor of between 50 and 10,000 the intensity of the long-lived P, Q and R lines previously observed in photoluminescence spectra of Si:In. The intensity of the indium bound exciton line is essentially unaffected. By studying these lines as a function of temperature, excitation density and delay time after pulsed excitation, we conclude that all three transitions are associated with the same isoelectronic binding center; contrary to prior assertions.  相似文献

The ATLAS experiment sensitivity to top quark flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) decays was studied at LHC using tt̄ events. While one of the top quarks is expected to follow the dominant Standard Model decay t→bW, the other decays through a FCNC channel, i.e. t→Zu(c), t→γu(c) or t→gu(c). Different types of analyses, applied to each FCNC decay mode, were compared. The FCNC branching ratio sensitivity (assuming a 5σ signal significance) and 95% confidence level limits on the branching ratios (in the hypothesis of signal absence) were obtained.  相似文献

Hofmeister series reversal can occur with change in pH, or increase in salt concentration. The phenomena are a challenge for any theory of ion specific effects. Recent theoretical work predicts how a complex interplay between ionic sizes, hydration and dispersion forces explains Hofmeister series reversal. Electrophoretic mobility measurements on lysozyme suspensions reported here are consistent with the theory.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of 1,4,5,8,9,12-hexamethyltriphenylene (5) is described. In the solid state, X-ray crystallographic studies reveal that compound 5 presents a highly distorted C2 geometry with a 53 degrees end-to-end twist. In solution, variable-temperature 1H NMR studies and molecular modeling present a story of rapid dynamic conformational interconversions between two C2 enantiomers (with a low activation barrier) and a slower C2-D3 interconversion (with a relatively high barrier)--the first time clear evidence of conformational interchange for these hindered triphenylenes has been provided. Further studies have established that 5 is a fluorescent stable blue emitter, and that the compound undergoes an irreversible one-electron electrochemical oxidation. Calculations have predicted this to be a radical cation of C2 geometry with 60 degrees end-to-end twist.  相似文献

Nickel(II)-xylylbicyclam is a potent anti-HIV agent and binds strongly to the CXCR4 co-receptor. We have investigated configurational equilibria of Ni(II)-cyclam derivatives, since these are important for receptor recognition. Crystallographic studies show that both trans and cis configurations are readily formed: [Ni(cyclam)(OAc)(2)] x H(2)O adopts the trans-III configuration with axial monodentate acetates, as does [Ni(benzylcyclam)(NO(3))(2)] with axial nitrate ligands, whereas [Ni(benzylcyclam)(OAc)](OAc)2 x H(2)O has an unusual folded cis-V configuration with Ni(II) coordination to bidentate acetate. UV/Vis and NMR studies show that the octahedral trans-III configuration slowly converts to square-planar trans-I in aqueous solution. For Ni(II)-xylylbicyclam, a mixture of cis-V and trans-I configurations was detected in solution. X-ray diffraction studies showed that crystals of lysozyme soaked in Ni(II)-cyclam or Ni(II) (2)-xylylbicyclam contain two major binding sites, one involving Ni(II) coordination to Asp101 and hydrophobic interactions between the cyclam ring and Trp62 and Trp63, and the second hydrophobic interactions with Trp123. For Ni(II)-cyclam bound to Asp101, the cis-V configuration predominates.  相似文献

An efficient synthesis of 2-substituted O(4)-cyclohexylmethyl-5-nitroso-6-aminopyrimidines from 6-amino-2-mercaptopyrimidin-4-ol has been developed and used to prepare a range of derivatives for evaluation as inhibitors of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2). The structure-activity relationships (SARs) are similar to those observed for the corresponding O(6)-cyclohexylmethoxypurine series with the 2-arylsulfonamide and 2-arylcarboxamide derivatives showing excellent potency. Two compounds, 4-(6-amino-4-cyclohexylmethoxy-5-nitrosopyrimidin-2-ylamino)-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)benzenesulfonamide (7q) and 4-(6-amino-4-cyclohexylmethoxy-5-nitrosopyrimidin-2-ylamino)-N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)benzenesulfonamide (7s), were the most potent with IC50 values of 0.7 +/- 0.1 and 0.8 +/- 0.0 nM against CDK2, respectively. The SARs determined in this study are discussed with reference to the crystal structure of 4-(6-amino-4-cyclohexylmethoxy-5-nitrosopyrimidin-2-ylamino)-N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)benzenesulfonamide (7j) bound to phosphorylated CDK2/cyclin A.  相似文献

Reaction of the dinuclear complex [Mn2O2(bpy)4](ClO4)3 with H3cht (cis,cis-l,3,5-cyclohexanetriol) in MeCN produces the complex [Mn3(Hcht)2(bpy)4](ClO4)3.Et2O.2MeCN (1.Et2O.2MeCN). Dc magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal the existence of weak ferromagnetic exchange between the three Mn ions, leading to a spin ground state of S = 7, with D = -0.23 cm(-1). W-Band (94 GHz) EPR measurements on restrained powdered crystalline samples confirm the S = 7 ground state and determine the ground state zero-field splitting (ZFS) parameters of D = -0.14 cm(-1) and B4(0)= +1.5 x 10(-5) cm(-1). The apparent 4th order behaviour is due to a breakdown of the strong exchange limit approximation (J approximately d, the single-ion ZFS). Single crystal dc relaxation decay and hysteresis loop measurements reveal the molecule to have an appreciable energy barrier to magnetization relaxation, displaying low temperature sweep rate and temperature-dependent hysteresis loops. Density functional studies confirm the ferromagnetic exchange coupling between the Mn ions.  相似文献

Novel surface-modified hydrogel materials have been prepared by binding charged porphyrins TMPyP (tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphyrin) and TPPS (tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin) to copolymers of HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) with either MAA (methacrylic acid) or DEAEMA (2-(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate). The charged hydrogels display strong electrostatic interactions with the appropriate cationic or anionic porphyrins to give materials which are intended to be used to generate cytotoxic singlet oxygen (1O2) on photoexcitation and can therefore be used to reduce postoperative infection of the intraocular hydrogel-based replacement lenses that are used in cataract surgery. The UV/vis spectra of TMPyP in MAA:HEMA copolymers showed a small shift in the Soret band and a change from single exponential (161 micros) triplet decay lifetime in solution to a decay that could be fitted to a biexponential fit with two approximately equal components with tau = 350 and 1300 micros. O2 bubbling reduced the decay to a dominant (90%) component with a much reduced lifetime of 3 micros and a minor, longer lived (20 micros) component. With D2O solvent the 1O2 lifetime was measured by 1270 nm fluorescence as 35 micros in MAA:HEMA, compared to 67 mus in solution, although absorbance-matched samples showed similar yield of 1O2 in the polymers and in aqueous solution. In contrast to the minor perturbation in photophysical properties caused by binding TMPyP to MAA:HEMA, TPPS binding to DEAEMA:HEMA copolymers profoundly changed the 1O2 generating ability of the TPPS. In N2-bubbled samples, the polymer-bound TPPS behaved in a similar manner to TMPyP in its copolymer host; however, O2 bubbling had only a very small effect on the triplet lifetime and no 1O2 generation could be detected. The difference in behavior may be linked to differences in binding in the two systems. With TMPyP in MAA:HEMA, confocal fluorescence microscopy showed significant penetration of the porphyrin into the core of the polymer film samples (>150 microm). However, for TPPS in DEAEMA:HEMA copolymers, although the porphyrin bound much more readily to the polymer, it remained localized in the first 20 microm, even in heavily loaded samples. It is possible that the resulting high concentration of TPPS may have cross-linked the hydrogels to such an extent that it significantly reduced the solubility and/or diffusion rate of oxygen into the doped polymers. This effect is significant since it demonstrates that even simple electrostatic binding of charged porphyrins to hydrogels can have an unexpectedly large effect on the properties of the system as a whole. In this case it makes the apparently promising TPPS/DEAEMA:HEMA system a poor candidate for clinical application as a postoperative antibacterial treatment for intraocular lenses while the apparently equivalent cationic system TMPyP/MAA:HEMA displays all the required properties.  相似文献

Combining α-methylthiomethyl (MTM) ether substituted aldehydes and 1-alkynes in the presence of [Rh(dppe)]ClO(4) results in efficient intermolecular alkyne hydroacylation to deliver α-O-MTM-substituted enone products.
