The conservation of channel spin implying that the spin of the initial bound pair coupled to that of the initial free particle should result in the same channel spin as the spin of the final bound pair coupled to the spin of the final free particle, follows as a consequence of three-body theory of transfer reactions with the assumption of separability of two-bodyt-matrix. To test the validity of this principle we look at the experimental data on stripping reactions on even-even nuclei. We find that although reactions to channels not conforming to channel spin conservation are not altogether ruled out, the cross-sections of reactions violating channel spin conservation are much smaller than those conforming to channel spin conservation.  相似文献

We report femtosecond pulse generation and chirped pulse amplification in Tm:fiber. A mode-locked oscillator operating in the soliton regime produced 800 fs pulses with 5 nm spectral bandwidth, at 40 pJ pulse energy. This oscillator seeded a pre-amplifier that utilizes a Raman soliton self-frequency shift to produce wavelength tunable pulses with 3 nJ energy, reduced pulse duration of 150 fs, and increased bandwidth of 30 nm. For further amplification, the pulses were stretched up to 160 ps using a chirped Bragg grating (CBG). Stretched pulses were amplified to 85 nJ after compression in single-mode Tm:fiber and recompressed with the CBG as short as 400 fs. Compressed pulses were coupled into a highly nonlinear tellurite fiber to investigate the potential of this ultrashort pulse 2-μm fiber source as a pump for mid-IR supercontinuum generation.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce fuzzy mathematical programming (FMP) for decision-making related to software creation by selecting optimal commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products in a modular software system. Each module in such software systems have different alternatives with variations in their properties, for example, quality, reliability, execution time, size and cost. Due to these variations, component-based software developers generally deals with the problem of selecting appropriate COTS products. The development of COTS-based systems largely depends on the success of the selection process. Various crisp optimization models of COTS products selection have been proposed in literature. However, in real COTS products selection problem, it is difficult to estimate precisely the values of various model parameters due to lack of sufficient data and also because of measurement errors. Hence, instead of crisp optimization model, if we use flexible optimization model then we might obtain results which are more preferred by the decision maker. In this study, we use multiple methodologies such as quality model, analytical hierarchy process and FMP to develop fuzzy multiobjective optimization model of the COTS products selection. To determine a preferred compromise solution for the multiobjective optimization problem, an interactive fuzzy approach is used.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline ZnO thin films have been deposited on rhenium and tungsten pointed and flat substrates by pulsed laser deposition method. An emission current of 1 nA with an onset voltage of 120 V was observed repeatedly and maximum current density ∼1.3 A/cm2 and 9.3 mA/cm2 has been drawn from ZnO/Re and ZnO/W pointed emitters at an applied voltage of 12.8 and 14 kV, respectively. In case of planar emitters (ZnO deposited on flat substrates), the onset field required to draw 1 nA emission current is observed to be 0.87 and 1.2 V/μm for ZnO/Re and ZnO/W planar emitters, respectively. The Fowler–Nordheim plots of both the emitters show nonlinear behaviour, typical for a semiconducting field emitter. The field enhancement factor β is estimated to be ∼2.15×105 cm−1 and 2.16×105 cm−1 for pointed and 3.2×104 and 1.74×104 for planar ZnO/Re and ZnO/W emitters, respectively. The high value of β factor suggests that the emission is from the nanometric features of the emitter surface. The emission current–time plots exhibit good stability of emission current over a period of more than three hours. The post field emission surface morphology studies show no significant deterioration of the emitter surface indicating that the ZnO thin film has a very strong adherence to both the substrates and exhibits a remarkable structural stability against high-field-induced mechanical stresses and ion bombardment. The results reveal that PLD offers unprecedented advantages in fabricating the ZnO field emitters for practical applications in field-emission-based electron sources.  相似文献

In this paper we report a study on the elastic scattering of electrons by lithium and sodium atoms in the presence of circularly polarized resonant laser field within the framework of the two-state rotating wave approximation. The effect of laser on projectile electrons is described by Volkov states. The frequency of the laser field is chosen to match with the 2s–3p (3s–3p) transition frequency in lithium (sodium) atoms. The total and differential elastic cross sections with single photon exchange are calculated for intermediate energies (50–150 eV) and laser intensity (107–1011 W cm-2). The status of a classical space-time singularity, when quantum effects are taken into account, has remained a matter of intense interest ever since the epochmaking paper of DeWitt [1] on quantum gravity. We examine here the evolution of quantum fluctuations in the vicinity of the singularity arising out of the classical collapse of a homogeneous dust cloud. As opposed to the pathintegral method used to quantize the conformal degree of freedom (see, e.g., [3] or [4]), we use here the traditional operator approach to the quantum theory which is much more direct and appealing while achieving an additional generalization that the wave function of the system is assumed to have a completely general form. It is shown that the quantum uncertainty diverges in the limit of approach to the classically singular epoch and that nonsingular, nonclassical states can occur with finite probability.  相似文献

Incorporation of isotopes has long been used as a research tool to label carbons and elucidate biochemical pathways. More recently, H→D exchange has led to analogs of therapeutic agents with improved metabolic stability and properties. Such compounds also have the potential for an improved drug/drug interaction profile and may even avoid the formation of toxic metabolites. Hence, a clear need for an efficient access to deuterated intermediates on large scale has emerged. In the context of an ongoing drug discovery program, we required large quantities of morpholine-d8. We herein report the successful optimization of a one-pot process allowing a near complete exchange of all methylene hydrogens in morpholine to deuterium atoms using D2O as the sole source of deuterium and Raney Nickel as catalyst. This facile and safe protocol will be used to scale up the synthesis of morpholine-d8 in due course.  相似文献

Specimens of iron-doped indium oxide (In1-xFex)2O3 with x?=?0.015, 0.03, 0.045 and 0.06, amalgamated through a traditional solid-state reaction method followed by H2/air sintering, were characterised using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to investigate their structural, magnetic and morphological properties respectively. According to XRD plots, all the specimens exhibit cubic bixbyite structures along with ancillary phases. Magnetic assessment showed that In2O3 has a negative susceptibility, exhibiting diamagnetic behaviour at room temperature. The doping of Fe ions induces ferromagnetic (FM) ordering, which is enhanced with increasing doping content. The strength of the magnetisation increases when the specimens are exposed to H2 but is reduced on further air sintering. A bound magnetic polaron (BMP) model is successfully fitted to the observed FM data involving localised carriers and magnetic cations. A multivariate assessment viz. a hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) was used to corroborate and strengthen the experimental determined magnetic properties. A homogeneous particle distribution was observed in all SEM micrographs and is validated through MATLAB-based simulation by applying a watershed segmentation algorithm. Surface plots also confirm the change in magnetic properties with increase in doping concentration.  相似文献

Nonequilibrium steady-state currents, unlike their equilibrium counterparts, continuously dissipate energy into their physical surroundings leading to entropy production and time-reversal symmetry breaking. This Letter discusses these issues in the context of quantum impurity models. We use simple thermodynamic arguments to define the rate of entropy production sigma and show that sigma has a simple information-theoretic interpretation in terms of nonequilibrium distribution functions. This allows us to show that the entropy production is strictly positive for any nonequilibrium steady state. We conclude by applying these ideas to the resonance level model and the Kondo model.  相似文献
