A scheme for automated study of current-voltage characteristics of gyroresonance devices is developed. The effective emission spread at the cathodes of powerful gyrotrons is studied by analysis of current-voltage characteristics. Experimental data on the effective emission spread parameter for different modes are given. The permissible emission spread at the cathodes of powerful gyrotrons is estimated, and the dependence of the electron beam parameters on the cathode emission spread is presented. A complex measurement technique showing the contribution of different physical mechanisms to the cathode emission spread is proposed. The electronic spectrum of an icosahedral quasicrystal with a central-atom decoration of the Amman-Mackay network is investigated in the tight-binding approximation. The quasicrystal is described as a structural limit of the optimal cubic approximants with increasing period. The electronic spectra for the first four optimal cubic approximants do not contain the hierarchical gap structure which is typical for the Cantor set of the spectrum of a one-dimensional quasicrystal. At the same time, as the order of the approximant increases, the spectrum becomes singular throughout the entire energy scale. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. We show that “top-down” mechanisms of ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays which involve heavy relic particle-like objects predict a Galactic anisotropy of the highest-energy cosmic rays at the level of minimum ∼ 20%. Absolute total electron scattering cross sections for carbon dioxide have been measured at low electron energies using a photoelectron source. The measurements have been carried out at 27 electron energies varying from 0.91–9.14 eV with an accuracy of ±3%. The cross sections obtained in the present experiment have been compared with other measurements and theoretical computations.  相似文献

We present a variational treatment for the E × e pseudo Jahn-Teller system. Through canonical transformation the electron and phonon states are decoupled. An analytical form is obtained for the ground state energy by scaling transformation. Including both the dynamical displacement of phonon modes and the softening of phonon frequency, this approach yields fairly accurate results for the ground state energy. The energy splitting and Ham's reduction factor are calculated, which also generates fairly good results compared with other perturbation results. We argue that our variational wave function is valid for the weak and intermediate coupling range.  相似文献

Flowing and static gas-phase samples of HNO3 in O2 and N2 were analyzed by long-path ultraviolet/visible (UV/VIS) spectroscopy to reveal the presence of both NO2 and NO3, the concentrations of which were calculated using differential absorption cross sections. NO2 is produced predominantly by the heterogeneous decomposition of HNO3, whereas NO3 is generated in the gas phase by the thermal decomposition of N2O5, a product of the self-disproportionation of liquid HNO3. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Laser spectroscopy at storage rings often suffers from a limited resolution due to Doppler-broadened resonances. Broadening is caused by the velocity spread of the ions stored in the beam. In the following, the present status of our work on laser systems specialized on the specific needs of laser spectroscopy at storage rings is reported. Two pulsed laser systems were developed. One is a dye laser whose spectral bandwidth can be switched by inserting different Littrow-prisms into the resonator. An increase in bandwidth up to a factor of 45 was achieved. This laser was used for fast qualitative scans and high resolution measurements. The other laser system is a Nd : YAG laser pumped optical parametric oscillator. It is a tunable laser system covering the spectral range from 410 to 4000 nm. Furthermore, a continuous wave laser with a frequency shifted feedback cavity is described. It shows broadband emission with an adjustable bandwidth of up to 4.5 GHz. This laser can be advantageous for laser cooling of ion beams.
