In this work we study the additive orbifold cohomology of the moduli stack of smooth genus g curves. We show that this problem reduces to investigating the rational cohomology of moduli spaces of cyclic covers of curves where the genus of the covering curve is g. Then we work out the case of genus g = 3. Furthermore, we determine the part of the orbifold cohomology of the Deligne–Mumford compactification of the moduli space of genus 3 curves that comes from the Zariski closure of the inertia stack of ${\mathcal{M}3}$ . 相似文献

Based on physically meaningful choice of the strain measures, we study the equilibrium and stability of an inflated spherical membrane. First, we obtain general results deduced by global geometric properties and then we analyze the possibility of inhomogeneous configurations. The stability analysis shows that under special constitutive assumptions the global energy minimum can be attained by inhomogeneous spherical configurations that we analytically describe. We argue that these deformations can reproduce well-known experimental results. 相似文献

Actuation devices based on dielectric elastomers, typically exhibit various kinds of instability which may determine a decrease of performances and, eventually, the device failure. In this work we focus on wrinkling instabilities for polymer films subjected to an electric field. The main result is the definition of a domain of taut states in the plane of principal stretches strongly dependent on the applied voltage and on the constitutive properties of the polymer film. We discuss these features, crucial in the perspective of electroactive materials design, through simple boundary value problems for Neo-Hookean and Ogden materials. 相似文献

Salvia corrugata Vahl. is an interesting source of abietane and abeo-abietane compounds that showed antibacterial, antitumor, and cytotoxic activities. The aim of the study was to obtain transformed roots of S. corrugata and to evaluate the production of terpenoids in comparison with in vivo root production. Hairy roots were initiated from leaf explants by infection with ATCC 15834 Agrobacterium rhizogenes onto hormone-free Murashige and Skoog (MS) solid medium. Transformation was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction analysis of rolC and virC1 genes. The biomass production was obtained in hormone-free liquid MS medium using Temporary Immersion System bioreactor RITA®. The chromatographic separation of the methanolic extract of the untransformed roots afforded horminone, ferruginol, 7-O-acetylhorminone and 7-O-methylhorminone. Agastol and ferruginol were isolated and quantified from the hairy roots. The amount of these metabolites indicated that the hairy roots of S. corrugata can be considered a source of these compounds. 相似文献

Based on a Griffith approach, we study the behavior of disordered media constituted at the microscale by distributions of elastic and breakable links with variable activation and fracture thresholds. Depending on the microscopic distribution properties, the material may be characterized by an unstable strain domain, which gives the possibilities of having homogeneous or localized damage. Our simple model delivers a theoretical scheme to describe main experimental effects observed at the microstructure and macroscopic scale in disordered materials undergoing damage and relates them to the inhomogeneity properties of the material. 相似文献

The identification of inhibitors of Hsp90 is currently a primary goal in the development of more effective drugs for the treatment of various types of multidrug resistant malignancies. In an attempt to identify new small molecules modulating the activity of Hsp90, we screened a small library of tetranortriterpenes. A high‐affinity interaction with Hsp90 inducible form was uncovered for eight of these compounds, five of which are described here for the first time. By monitoring the ATPase activity and the citrate synthase thermal induced aggregation, compound 1 (cedrelosin A), 3 (7α‐limonylacetate), and 5 (cedrelosin B), containing a limonol moiety, were found to be the most effective in compromising the Hsp90α chaperone activity. Consistent with these findings, the three compounds caused a depletion of c‐Raf and pAkt Hsp90 client proteins in HeLa and MCF/7 cell lines. Induced fit docking protocol and molecular dynamics were used to rationalize the structural basis of the biological activity of the limonol derivatives. Taken together, these results point to limonol‐derivatives as promising scaffolds for the design of novel Hsp90α inhibitors. 相似文献

The electric quadrupole fundamental (v=1←0) band of molecular deuterium around 3?μm is accessed by cavity ring-down spectroscopy using a difference-frequency-generation source linked to the Cs-clock primary standard via an optical frequency comb synthesizer. An absolute determination of the line position and strength is reported for the first two transitions (J=2←0 and J=3←1) of the S branch. An accuracy of 6×10(-8) is achieved for the line-center frequencies, which improves by a factor 20 previous experimental results [A. R. W. McKellar and T. Oka, Can. J. Phys. 56, 1315 (1978)]. The line strength values, measured with 1% accuracy, are used to retrieve the quadrupole moment matrix elements which are found in good agreement with previous theoretical calculations [A. Birnbaum and J. D. Poll, J. Atmos. Sci. 26, 943 (1969); J. L. Hunt, J. D. Poll, and L. Wolniewicz, Can. J. Phys. 62, 1719 (1984)]. 相似文献
