The objectives of the present investigation were to prepare and characterize solid inclusion complexes of Etodolac (ETD) with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) in order to study the effect of complexation on the dissolution rate of ETD, a hydrophobic guest molecule. Phase solubility curve was classified as a typical AL-type for the cyclodextrins (CD’s), showing that soluble complex was formed. The inclusion complexes in the molar ratio of 1:1 and 1:2 (β-CD–ETD) were prepared by various methods such as kneading, co-evaporation and in molar ratio of 1:1 by spray dried technique respectively. The molecular behaviors of ETD in all samples were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) studies and Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The results of these studies indicated that complexes prepared by kneading, co-evaporation and spray drying techniques showed inclusion of the ETD molecule into the CD’s cavities. The highest improvement in in vitro dissolution profiles was observed in complexes prepared with spray dried technique. Mean in vitro dissolution time indicated significant difference between the release profiles of ETD from complexes and physical mixtures and from pure ETD.  相似文献

The effect of different hydrotropic salts on the microenvironment at the anionic head group region of sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) micelle has been studied through time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy measurements of a solubilized probe, coumarin-153 (C153). The organic cations of the hydrotropic salts used in this study, i.e. aniline hydrochloride (AHC) and o-, m- and p-toluidine hydrochlorides (OTHC, MTHC and PTHC, respectively), differ in their charge to size ratio and hydrophobicity. Present study utilizes the sensitivity of the fluorescence technique to understand the changes in the micropolarity and microviscosity experienced by the fluorescent probe, C153, solubilized in the micellar Stern layer, on addition of different hydrotropic salts. Significant changes are observed in the rotational relaxation dynamics of the probe with increasing concentration of the salts. The changes in the rotational relaxation dynamics clearly reflect the sphere to rod transition in the SDS micelles and correspond nicely with the reported results from dynamic light scattering measurements. The growth behavior of SDS micelles is found to be sensitive to the hydrophobicity of the organic cations. The charge to size ratio of the organic cations also indicated to play a role in inducing the sphere to rod transition in the SDS micelles. The interesting observation made from this study is that the sphere to rod transition of SDS micelles is largely facilitated by the presence of the hydrotropic salts and such a transition is successfully indicated by the simple fluorescence anisotropy measurements of a probe in the micelle carried out in the presence of different hydrotropic salts.  相似文献

The conditions prevailing in the industrial applications in which enzymes are used are rather extreme, especially with respect to temperature and pH. Therefore, there is a continuing demand to improve the stability of enzymes and to meet the requirements set by specific applications. In this respect, thermostable enzymes have been proposed to be industrially relevant. In this review, α-amylase, a well-established representative of thermostable enzymes, providing an attractive model for the investigation of the structural basis of thermostability of proteins, has been discussed.  相似文献

Thermal expansion measurements have been carried out on Fe substituted superconducting compounds Y1Ba2(Cu1−x Fe x )3O y (0<x<4%) using a high resolution dilatometer employing the three terminal capacitance technique. The experimental set up is sensitive enough to detect changes in α of less than 10−8K−1. Results show that the jump Δα in the coefficient of linear thermal expansion at the superconducting transition temperature,T c, increases almost linearly with Fe concentration. The normal state thermal expansion coefficient α first decreases, attains a minimum value aroundx=1% and then increases for higher Fe concentrations. The oxygen content per unit formula is almost constant up tox=1% and then increases rapidly withx. It has also been observed that the anomalous behaviour of α around 260 K observed by Meingastet al [22] for Fe concentrationx=5% is due to inadequate annealing of the sample.  相似文献

Interest in the synthesis of hybrid substrates for surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has surged recently. Hereof, in the present work, a hybrid SERS substrate CuO : Mn/Ag heterojunction has been synthesised. To accomplish this, the nanostructred Ag island film and CuO : Mn nanoparticles are synthesised by vacuum thermal evaporation method and sol–gel method respectively, and thereafter, a heterojunction between the CuO : Mn and Ag is fabricated by adsorption of CuO : Mn (10‐3 m in ethanol) on Ag island film. Further, the SERS sensitivity of CuO : Mn/Ag heterojunctions has been studied by probing methyl orange. We observed that with Mn‐doping in the lattice of CuO, the SERS signal is enhanced considerably because of ferromagnetic ordering in CuO : Mn. DFT/B3LYP/6‐311 G(d, p) method is used to calculate the energy of HOMO and LUMO level of methyl orange. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, the authors present finite element analysis and approximation of Burgers’‐Fisher equation. Existence and uniqueness of weak solution is proved by Galerkin's finite element method for non‐smooth initial data. Next, a priori error estimates of semi‐discrete solution in norm, are derived and the convergence of semi‐discrete solution is established. Then, fully discretization of the problem is done with the help of Euler's backward method. The nonlinearity is removed by lagging it to previous known level. The scheme is found to be convergent. Positivity of fully discrete solution is discussed, and bounds on time step are discovered for which the solution preserves its positivity. Finally, numerical experiments are performed on some examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme. The proposed scheme found to be fast, easy and accurate.© 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This article aims to shed some light on the structure and thermo-physical properties of lithium disilicate glasses in the system Li2O–SiO2–Al2O3–K2O. A glass with nominal composition 23Li2O–77SiO2 (mol%) (labelled as L23S77) and glasses containing Al2O3 and K2O with SiO2/Li2O molar ratios (3.13–4.88) were produced by conventional melt-quenching technique in bulk and frit forms. The glass-ceramics (GCs) were obtained from nucleation and crystallisation of monolithic bulk glasses as well as via sintering and crystallisation of glass powder compacts. The structure of glasses as investigated by magic angle spinning-nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) depict the role of Al2O3 as glass network former with four-fold coordination, i.e., Al(IV) species while silicon exists predominantly as a mixture of Q 3 and Q 4 (Si) structural units. The qualitative as well as quantitative crystalline phase evolution in glasses was followed by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) adjoined with Rietveld-reference intensity ratio (R.I.R.) method, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The possible correlation amongst structural features of glasses, phase composition and thermo-physical properties of GCs has been discussed.  相似文献

Spin–orbit interaction in two-dimensional electron systems can lead to a spin-dependent reflection of carriers off a lithographic barrier. Scattering of a spin-unpolarized beam from the barrier leads to the creation of two fully spin-polarized side beams in addition to an unpolarized specularly reflected beam. We experimentally demonstrate a method to create spin-polarized beams of ballistic electrons in mesoscopic samples fabricated on InSb/InAlSb and InAs/AlGaSb heterostructures. We describe two geometries, one open and one closed, in which the spin-dependent reflection and spin-dependent semiclassical trajectories were observed.  相似文献
