Induced electric fields and plasmonic interactions between a metallic nanotube and a thin metallic film

We have numerically simulated the induced electric fields and the plasmonic interactions of a metallic nanotube near a thin metallic film. Our study shows that the energies and intensities of the plasmon resonances depend strongly on the aspect ratio (the ratio of the inner to outer radius) of the nanotube as well as the separation between the center of the nanotube and the upper surface of the metallic film and the thickness of the film. Characterization of different-Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructures on sapphire

Al x Ga 1-x N/GaN high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) structures with Al composition ranging from x = 0.13 to 0.36 are grown on sapphire substrates by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (LP-MOCVD). The effects of Al content on crystal quality, surface morphology, optical and electrical characteristics of the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures have been analyzed. Although high Al-content (36%) heterostructure exhibits a distinguished photoluminescence peak related to recombination between the two-dimensional electron gas and photoexcited holes (2DEG-h), its crystal quality and rough surface morphology are poor. 2DEG mobility increases with the Al content up to 26% and then it apparently decreases for high Al-content (36%) AlGaN/GaN heterostructure. The increase of sheet carrier density with the increase of Al content has been observed. A high mobility at room temperature of 2105 cm 2 /V s with a sheet carrier density of n s = 1.10 × 10 13 cm -2 , for a 26% Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructure has been obtained, which is approaching state-of-the-art for HEMT grown on SiC. Sheet resistance as low as 274 Ω/□ has also been achieved.     

Simulation of growing GaN in vertical HVPE reactor

The paper reports the setting up of a model of fluid dynamic for GaN HVPE system and the simulation. It is found that when the direction of gravity is opposite to the direction of GaCl flow inlet,there exits a distance at which the uniformity of the deposition is optimal. Here the good uniformity of the deposition is obtained when the distance between the substrate and GaCl inlet is 5 cm. The parameters of gas flow used in growing GaN are also optimized. Relative position determination of a lunar rover using high-accuracy multi-frequency same-beam VLBI

Multi-frequency same-beam VLBI means that two explorers with a small separation angle are simultaneously observed with the main beam of receiving antennas. In the same-beam VLBI, the differential phase delay between two explorers and two receiving telescopes can be obtained with a small error of several picoseconds. The differential phase delay, as the observable of the same-beam VLBI, gives the separation angular information of the two explorers in the celestial sphere. The two-dimensional relative position on the plane-of-sky can thus be precisely determined with an error of less than 1 m for a distance of 3.8×105 km far away from the earth, by using the differential phase delay obtained with the four Chinese VLBI stations. The relative position of a lunar rover on the lunar surface can be determined with an error of 10 m by using the differential phase delay data and the range data for the lander when the lunar topography near the rover and the lander can be determined with an error of 10 m.     

Determination of the ~(12)C(p, γ)~(13)N reaction rates fromthe ~(12)C(~7Li,~6He)~(13)N reaction

The angular distribution of the 12C(7Li,6He)13N reaction at E(7Li) = 44.0 MeV was measured at the HI-13 tandem accelerator of Beijing, China. The asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) of 13N → 12C + p was derived to be (1.64 ± 0.11) fm-1/2 through the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) analysis. The ANC was then used to deduce the astrophysical S (E) factors and reaction rates for the 12C(p,γ)13N direct capture reaction at energies of astrophysical relevance.     

Research on application of MOOC in optical packet switching

An experiment on receiving and identifying multiple optical orthogonal codes （MOOC） sequence-based optical labels in an optical packet switching （OPS） network is reported. Two groups of MOOC with a code length of 23 and a code weight of 3 are used to identify the optical labels. The scheme and principle of OPS networks based on MOOC sequence-based optical labels are presented. Because optical labels contain OPS and routing information, the importance of optical label processing with multiple inconsecutive, random, and burst optical labels in an OPS network is pointed out. Considering the MOOC-based optical labels, we design a circuit consisting of a broadened network and a cascaded amplifier to receive multiple groups of low-power narrow pulses （optical labels in the MOOC-OPS network） with a period of 2 ns. The successful experimental results demonstrate that the designed scheme is feasible.     

Artificial neural network method for determining optical properties from double-integrating-spheres measurements

<正>Accurate measurement of the optical properties of biological tissue is very important for optical diagnosis and therapeutics.An artificial neural network(ANN)-based inverse reconstruction method is introduced to determine the optical properties of turbid media,which is based on the reflectance(R) and transmittance (T) of a thin sample measured by a double-integrating-spheres system.The accuracy and robustness of the method has been validated,and the results show that the root mean square errors(RMSEs) of the absorption coefficientμ_a and scattering coefficientμ'_s reconstruction are less than 0.01 cm~(-1) and 0.02 cm~(-1),respectively.The algorithm is not only very accurate in the case of a lower albedo(~0.33),but also very robust to the noise of R and T especially for theμ'_s reconstruction.     

Effects of annealing on luminescence efficiency of large-size YAG:Ce crystal grown by temperature gradient techniques

<正>YAG:Ce crystal with a diameter of 110 mm is successfully grown by the temperature gradient technique (TGT).The effects of annealing on the luminescence efficiency of YAG:Ce crystal are investigated,and the optimal annealing temperature and atmosphere are obtained.The mechanism of variation behavior of the luminescence efficiency of YAG:Ce under different annealing conditions is discussed and some details on the luminescence associated with color centers are analyzed.     

Numerical simulations of the impact of wavefront phase distortions of pump on the beam quality of OPA

<正>A numerical model of optical parametric amplification(OPA) is introduced to investigate the impact of wavefront phase distortion of pump on the beam quality of signal.Numerical results show that the unidentical walk-off directions of the pump and the idler waves are the main factors leading to the transfer of wavefront phase distortions of the pump to the signal,and by reducing the angle between the two directions,the beam quality factor(M~2) can be greatly decreased and hence the good beam quality of the signal can be maintained.     

Beam collimation for CSNS/RCS

The current design of the CSNS/RCS beam collimation system consists of a two-stage betatron collimation and a single momentum collimator. This paper summarizes various aspects of collimator design, including collimation principle and layout, material choice and collimator mechanical structure, etc. At last, radiation and thermal analysis are carried out to illustrate the feasibility of the current beam collimation scheme.
