The inherent irreversibility and thermal stability in a long hollow cylinder with temperature-dependent internal heating and
asymmetric convective cooling at both inner and outer surfaces is investigated. Analytical solution is obtained for the governing
equation and the expressions for the temperature field, thermal stability criterion, volumetric entropy generation number,
and irreversibility distribution ratio are presented. With certain combinations of the heat transfer parameters, entropy generation

Growth conditions, structural, and optical properties of MgO nanostructure have been investigated. Surface composition and shift in binding energy of Mg at 50.8 eV due to oxidation were examined by core‐level spectroscopy. The SEM showed that the film is dense, and grain growth and crystallinity are enhanced by post‐deposition annealing. Grain distribution was appraised within the confinement of 24.51 µm2 from the selected scan areas. X‐ray diffraction studies indicated prominent peaks, which are attributed to (111), (200), and (220) reflections from fairly crystallized and randomly oriented MgO thin film. Plane (111) is found to be the preferred orientation of the film. The film transmitted well across the visible spectrum and the estimated energy band gap is 5.41 eV. Absence of catalyst in the electrolyte solution aided the purity of the sample. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The flow, heat and mass transfer of water-based nanofluid are examined between two horizontal parallel plates in a rotating system. The effects of Brownian motion, thermophoresis, viscosity and Hall current parameters are considered. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations that are then solved numerically using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method. Validation of numerical solution is achieved with an exact solution of primary velocity and found to be in good agreement. Results show that both surfaces experience opposite behavior regarding skin friction, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in both primary and secondary flows. These physical quantities depend upon dimensionless parameters and numbers. 相似文献

This study is devoted to investigating transient coupled fluid flow and mass transfer partial differential equations (PDEs) describing pollutant transport in cylindrical coordinates. Symmetry analysis of the system of coupled PDEs is performed and some large Lie algebras are obtained for some special cases of the arbitrary and special choices of constants, and the source term. Optimal systems are constructed for all the admitted symmetries. We perform reductions for different choices of the source term. In some cases invariant solution is sought, however some cases resulted in coupled systems of highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Imposing realistic boundary conditions and considering a constant source term, we then use the Adomain decomposition techniques to solve the boundary value problem. 相似文献
