Microcantilevers have recently received widespread attentions due to their extreme applicability and versatility in both biological and non-biological applications. Along this line, this paper undertakes the non-linear vibrations of a piezoelectrically driven microcantilever beam as a common configuration in many scanning probe microscopy and nanomechanical cantilever biosensor systems. A part of the microcantilever beam surface is covered by a piezoelectric layer (typically ZnO), which acts both as an actuator and sensor. The bending vibrations of the microcantilever beam are studied considering the inextensibility condition and the coupling between electrical and mechanical properties in the piezoelectric materials. The non-linear terms appear in the form of quadratic expression due to presence of piezoelectric layer, and cubic form due to geometrical non-linearities. The Galerkin approximation is then utilized to discretize the equations of motion. In addition, the method of multiple scales is applied to arrive at the closed form solution for the fundamental natural frequency of the system. An experimental setup consisting of a commercial piezoelectric microcantilever attached on the stand of a state-of-the-art microsystem analyzer for non-contact vibration measurement is utilized to verify the theoretical developments. It is found that the experimental results and theoretical findings are in good agreement, which demonstrates that the non-linear modeling framework could provide a better dynamic representation of the microcantilever than the previous linear models. Due to microscale nature of the system, excitation amplitude plays an important role since even a small change in the amplitude of excitation can lead to significant vibrations and frequency shift. 相似文献

In this study, maghemite (γ‐Fe2O3) nanoparticles were initially synthesized via chemical co‐precipitation and then deposited by spray pyrolysis as thin films on white glass substrates. The thin films were annealed for 8 h at 400, 450, 500, 550, and 600 °C in an oven. The structural studies of maghemite nanoparticles were carried out using X‐ray diffractometer. Structural properties that we investigated by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, SEM, and Energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDS). Optical properties of the samples were also investigated by ultraviolet‐visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy. The results showed that maghemite nanoparticles have crystalline structure with domain that increases in size with increasing annealing temperature. The optical band gap values were found to reduce from 2.9 to 2.4 eV with increase in annealing temperature. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The problem is related to a fleet of military aircraft with a certain flying program in which the availability of the aircraft
sufficient to meet the flying program is a challenging issue. During the pre- or after-flight inspections, some component
failures of the aircraft may be found. In such cases, the aircraft are sent to the repair shop to be scheduled for maintenance
jobs, consisting of failure repairs or preventive maintenance tasks. The objective is to schedule the jobs in such a way that
sufficient number of aircrafts is available for the next flight programs. The main resource, as well as the main constraint,
in the shop is skilled-workforce. The problem is formulated as a mixed-integer mathematical programming model in which the
network flow structure is used to simulate the flow of aircraft between missions, hanger and repair shop. The proposed model
is solved using the classical Branch-and-Bound method and its performance is verified and analyzed in terms of a number of

This paper addresses a novel approach to deal with Flexible task Time Assembly Line Balancing Problem (FTALBP). In this regard, machines are considered in which operation time of each task can be between lower and upper bounds. These machines can compress the processing time of tasks, but this action may lead to higher cost due to cumulative wear, erosion, fatigue and so on. This cost is described in terms of task time via a linear function. Hence, a bi-criteria nonlinear integer programming model is developed which comprises two inconsistent objective functions: minimizing the cycle time and minimizing the machine total costs. In order to sustain these objectives concurrently, this paper applies the LP-metric method to make a combined dimensionless objective. Moreover, a genetic algorithm (GA) is presented to solve this NP-hard problem and design of experiments (DOE) method is hired to tune various parameters of our proposed algorithm. This paper deals with a system of ordinary differential equations with known initial conditions associated with a given square matrix. By using standard analytical and computational methods many of the important aspects of the given matrix can be determined. Among these are its determinant, its adjoint, its inverse (if it exist), the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial, the location of the roots ofthe characteristic polynomial, and the corresponding eigenvectors. Concomitently, the differential system yields a treatment of inhomogeneous linear algebraic systems associated with the given matrix, as in economic input-output analysis. In particular, new insights are provided into Faddeev's algorithm for the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial. 相似文献

We report on the demonstration of a high finesse micro-optomechanical system and identify potential applications ranging from optical cooling to weak force detection to massive quantum superpositions. The system consists of a high quality diameter flat dielectric mirror cut from a larger substrate with a focused ion beam and attached to an atomic force microscope cantilever. Cavity ring-down measurements performed on a 25 mm long Fabry-Pérot cavity with the 30 microm mirror at one end show an optical finesse of 2100. Numerical calculations show that the finesse is not diffraction limited and that orders of magnitude higher finesse should be possible. A mechanical quality factor of more than 10(5) at pressures below 10(-3) mbar is demonstrated for the cantilever with a mirror attached. 相似文献
