We successfully fabricated a high-performance half-wave plate for the 405 nm wavelength based on monolithic integration of two nanograting layers. Each of the nanograting layers functions as a quarter-wave plate. Both of the nanograting layers were fully filled and planarized to achieve the monolithic integration. UV-nanoimprint lithography, along with thin-film deposition, high-aspect-ratio reactive ion etching, and trench-filling technologies, was used in fabrication and integration of the individual nanograting layers. High-aspect-ratio nanogratings with sub-50 nm linewidths and 100 nm spacing were fabricated to achieve good optical performance at the near-UV wavelength. The ability to integrate multiple nanostructure-based optical layers opens a path for integrated multifunction devices, as well as a new strategy for driving both miniaturization and cost. 相似文献

The main result of this paper is the resolvent similarity criterionwhich says that linear growth of the resolvent towards the spectrumis sufficient for a Hilbert space contraction with finite rankdefect operators and spectrum not covering the unit disc tobe similar to a normal operator. This paper is concerned with products of conjugacy classes in Chevalley groups. We prove that in any quasisimple Chevalley
groupG proper or twisted, over any field, the extended covering number is bounded above linearly in terms of the rank ofG, that is, for some constante, for any Chevalley groupG, the product of anye · rank(G) non-central classes covers all ofG. We give estimates for the constante in different cases.

Linear optics quantum logic gates are the best tool to generate multiphoton entanglement. Simplifying a recent approach, we were able to implement the conditional phase gate with only one second-order interference at a polarization dependent beam splitter, thereby significantly increasing its stability. The improved quality of the gate is evaluated by analyzing its entangling capability and by performing full process tomography. Numerous products (such as paints, inks, foods, and beverages) and processes (such as coating, coagulation, sedimentation, lubrication, and paper-making) depend on the stability of the liquid films separating the dispersed phase from the continuous phase in the presence of nanoparticles or surfactant micelles. Nanoparticles exhibit a tendency to form ordered layers (i.e., stratification) and particle in-layer structures in these thin films at a sufficiently high concentration, resulting in a structural force that stabilizes the dispersion. Flotation and separation practice shows that fine hydrophilic solids are often drawn into the froth product. The occurrence of this unwanted event in the classical froth flotation has led to the idea of using it for the separation by size of ground materials. Thus, a method for the extraction of hydrophilic fines by foaming of a suspension was proposed. The aim of the present study is to relate this phenomenon to the residence time of the particles in the vicinities of the rising bubbles. Dynamic interactions of fine solids with rising bubbles cause perturbations in the background flow field. A procedure for the mathematical modeling of these disturbance effects is proposed. The initial idea is that the particles lag behind the background bubble-driven flows. A key point is the possibility of classifying fine entities according to a general criterion, containing only parameters of the outer flow. The basic result is that there exists a range of particle and bubble dimensions for which this entrapment is optimal. The proposed model investigation gives a concise explanation for the observed capture of fine solids in many flotation and separation processes. 相似文献
