1,2-Diisophthalimidoethane. X-ray diffraction evidence for the structure of the product of acylation of 1,2-diaminoethane with phthaloyl chloride

It was demonstrated by x-ray diffraction investigation of the product of the reaction of 1,2-diaminoethane with phthalic acid dichloride that the resulting compound has the 1,2-diisophthalimidoethane structure. Gas phase photoreaction of SO2 with n-pentane in the presence of NO

The spectrum of an intermediate, ascribed to nitrosopentane, has been detected in the photolysis of SO₂-pentane-NO mixtures. This may be explained by a radical photolysis mechanism involving an initial H-atom abstraction from the pentane molecule by SO₂.

Nature of the activity and the kinetics of cyclohexene hydrogenation by the catalytic system (C5H5)2 TiCl2?LiC4H9

The reaction of tributylphosphine with the catalytic system (C₅H₅)₂ TiCl₂–LiC₄H₉ prepared in an atmosphere of H₂ has been investigated in toluene solution. By using the ESR technique, a hydride complex Cp₂Ti(H) (PBu₃) has been detected. The proportionality between the rate of cyclohexene hydrogenation and the complex concentration has been established. The kinetics of cyclohexene hydrogenation has been investigated and a reaction mechanism is proposed.

Electrochemical fluorination of N,N-dimethylperfluoroacylamides

The electrochemical fluorination (ECF) of N,N-dimethylperfluoroacylamides gives the corresponding perfluoro-N,N-dimethylacylamides in low yield. With increase of the number of carbon atoms in the perfluoroacyl radical the yield of the required perfluoro-N,N-dimethylacylamides is slightly increased.     

Charge separation in a nonfluorescent donor-acceptor dyad derived from boron dipyrromethene dye, leading to photocurrent generation

Boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY), which is commonly used as an energy absorbing and transferring antenna molecule, has been modified to contain an electron donor moiety, 8-(2,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4,4-difluoro-1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene (MEOPHBDP). The photoinduced electron transfer from a 2,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl moiety to a BODIPY moiety of MEOPHBDP in acetonitrile was observed by femtosecond laser flash photolysis measurements. The lifetime of the charge-separated state of MEOPHBDP was 59 ps at 298 K. The dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) were prepared using MEOPHBDP with carboxylic acid (MEOPHBDP-COOH) and a reference BODIPY dye having no electron donor moiety. The photovoltaic measurements were performed using a standard two-electrode system consisting of a working electrode and a Pt sputtered electrode in methoxyacetonitrile containing 0.5 M iodide and 0.05 M I(2). The photoelectrochemical properties of DSSC with MEOPHBDP are compared with those with a reference BODIPY dye.     

Difference schemes for the dirichlet problem for an elliptical equation with discontinuous coefficients in an arbitrary region on a regular grid

Exact difference scheme operators are used to construct a difference scheme for a second-order elliptical equation with discontinuous coefficients. Photon-deuteron diffractive scattering

One expects a similarity of the energy dependence of the difference _tot(*p)– _tot(*n) for virtual (deep inelastic scatteringQ ²m ²) and real (Q ²=0) photons. Previous analysis of D structure functions with allowence for nuclear shadowing (NS) in the deuteron has led to conclusion that _tot(*p)– _tot(*n)<0>x<0.015. the=" early=" evidence=" from=" the=" real=" photoproduction=" data="> _tot(p)– _tot(n)<0. we=" critically=" reexamine=" determinations=" of=" the="> _tot(p)– _tot(n), using more accurate calculations of NS correction to _tot(D), and discuss a possibility of _tot(n) _tot(p) at moderately high energies.     

Point interactions with inner structure as a limit of separable potentials

Interactions of zero radius with an additional inner channel are considered. The corresponding generalized Krein resolvents in a functional sector are approximated in the weak sense with the aid of interactions of rank 1. Magnetic fluorescence and phosphorescence quenching of gas-phase sulfur dioxide

Sulfur dioxide fluorescence and phosphorescence are quenched by a magnetic field. A model is suggested for the qualitative interpretation of the results.
